Fledgling Fyora srsterno
Any luck getting the download to work? I have looked all over for the link to the mirror sites for the Windows version - no joy... A link?
Fledgling Fyora srsterno
I take that back - http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/ftp/win/ Seems to work just fine
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
After Jeff's early release of Windows version his next miracle will be to walk on water. I hope the ice doesn't break.
Articulate Vlish Koranzite
I'm a little bit suspicious about this. Why has the news or the homepage not been updated? Either this is an error and it is a beta download, or the link was uploaded to prepare for the release.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The links for downloading are usually available hours before the page and news announcements are done so people that see the news can start downloading. Articulate Vlish Koranzite
Thanks for clarifying the issue. Glad Avernum 5 is out for windows!
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
The reason the games are on the ftp site before we announce them is that we need to test the uploads before we take them live. The game will be officially announced/released tomorrow. - Jeff Vogel

Well-Actually War Trall Micawber
Hurrah! Just played the demo. Yay for elevation. And I love the battle disciplines. Looking forward to the rest of the game... Edit: Forgot my #1 favorite improvement: when I hit F4, it warns me to confirm whether I really want to lose all my progress before loading
Fledgling Fyora pittsburghsue
The "Jeff walking on water" comment reminded me of my favorite quote: "Walking on water, and writing code to spec, are both easy... ...if they're both frozen". :-)

Well-Actually War Trall Andraste
There's an easy, yet expensive, solution to that Diki. Avernum 5 looks pretty cool.

Understated Ur-Drakon Callie
This is funny, I've been waiting for the Windows version all this time because my Mac is too old to play it, and now Jeff releases it early.

Kyshakk Koan Darkdread
I've been playing this great demo for Win, and I have a question, I don't think it'll be a spoiler. Is there -in the full game- any visit to a friendly Nephilim town? I love them and I wouldn't like to be killing them for some crazy mission. Thanks for your answer in advance! Burgeoning Battle Gamma olop4444
Is it me or is the demo extra short this time?
Articulate Vlish corallus
Have you done all the underground area, and found all the secret doors?? I do think the demo is smaller than other games in the series, but there is still quite a lot of content there, its just in a smaller area, and its easy to miss quite a bit of it.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The demo is a little smaller, but it comes at a decent break point in the plot. If you know what to do you can finish everything in about 12 hours on torment and less on normal. You might have missed somethings. Have you fought both wights, the ruby skeleton, and found the backdoor to the alchemist's shop?
Kyshakk Koan wxxqut
Yes.And is there any way in demo to kill a crocolisk north of fortunato which he gives you a quest to do?
Well-Actually War Trall In Half Now
Yeah, walk around with a fish in your inv. and be tough.
Burgeoning Battle Gamma olop4444
I think I've done everything. I even checked with Synergy's item list. The Black Wight is the second wight you're talking about, right? 'Cause otherwise I've missed one.
Kyshakk Koan Darkdread
I have bought bows, but STILL haven't found anyone in the demo who sells arrows! why are they so scarce?
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
You don't need arrows to use a bow. (I have to admit, while the unlimited ammunition is neat, I miss arrows. They could add a whole new dynamic to the game.)

Arrows where interesting but - their weight in Avernum 3 sucked - I too often forgot to resplenish my supply before leaving town And as Dikiyoba said, you can always use javelin for the fun. I doo for my slith mage (weightless backpack helps).
