  1. 35 is too much for level 20 I believe. You may want to try reinstalling the game.
  2. Just wait until later in the game, they will get surprisingly easy.
  3. The answer would be no, if it said only, but because of the reason stated by Skwish-E, there is no known solution. I remember hearing an "impossible" riddle once, that no one had ever found the answer to yet, but I forget what it is.
  4. Do you mean only the weapon "Dagger" or any weapon that is a dagger? I don't remember if Tek's Spectral Dirk Returned for G3, but a dirk isn't really a dagger, though it does have the dagger graphic in the Geneforge series.
  5. What about the closed porticullis at the bottom of the dungeons, just outside the keeper burial chamber entrance? I always wondered if shadow tarkus was behind there and I would get rid of him in a later hand Callan quest before I realized where tarkus really was. Never did find out what was behind there. Spent a good deal of time looking for switches too, even in the upper dungeon levels.
  6. Keep in mind that Spiderweb Software is only an indie company and only has three full time employees, and I believe only one of those programs. None are graphics artists. Graphics must be purchased from artists, which can be difficult to afford for a small indie company. Though Geneforge and Avadon have them, the entire Avernum series does not have any walking animations at all, though the upcoming remake might. Graphics are limited, and many are reused from other spiderweb software games, but the graphics have been getting better over the years. I find it odd you consider Avadon a big game world; it felt very small and disappointing relative to other spiderweb software games. Try Avernum 3, the demo feels as big as full Avadon. Edit: Sniped, thanks to multi-tasking and slow typing.
  7. Geneforge 3 was the one with the most non-endgame repercussions from canister abuse I think.
  8. I haven't studied since like 5th grade, my grades have been improving ever since I quit. Last year band class was my lowest grade, and its 100% just for showing up. I didn't pass the AP U.S. History test though...
  9. He asks you to deliver a note to Redbeard. If you enter diologue with Redbeard about the note, whether you give it to him or not, then you will be able to report to Svarl about the outcome and then receive the next quest after you progress far enough through the story to do it (After doing Dhoral Stead 2nd quest?). Svarl mentions that he will look for more shiny things, but sadly and against my predictions and hopes, he doesn't. Avadon was too small for it any way...
  10. Seems like yet another quest I missed. It seems my problem is that NPCs who seem to ignore you or seem to give only dialogue I hadn't considered that they would actually change later and give you quests. That annoys me. Oh well, hopefully I will be prepared for that in Avd2, though others may not.
  11. They just boost your mechanics enough for you to disarm the mines. You have to do it yourself.
  12. A possibility I can think of is the Sholai arriving to take over the aftermath of the war. Not sure if you could have more than three factions: Sholai, Remnant Shapers, and the rebellion. Shapers would want to put tighter control on shaping, rebels would want uncontrolled, and Sholai as Trakovites after seeing what shaping did to Terrestria; one second thought, there could be two sets of Sholai, ones like trajkov and ones like trakovites, use or avoid shaping. Either way, its more factions than G3 and G4. I think there have been many posts relating to hope of a new geneforge game. It seems Jeff likes recycling games as it means less work to do to come up with stories and themes and goes straight to game development, and there seems to be enough potential customers. Why not have a geneforge 6?

  14. Another quest I missed, who gives you this one?
  15. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him in Avd2, I really hope to also. I also hoped he would give you quests in Avd1 or at least play a somewhat larger role.
  16. Mod.

    Play or not?

Yes, just go on without selecting any characters and you can go solo or with only one character. Don't lose track of them though, you might want them later.
  17. Hated this: wall bashing + mouseing over the entire screen hundreds of times, and had I not decided to look up the answer, would have kept going at it for hours to come. I really dislike it when games do things that take up time while providing no enjoyment. Maybe if you keep going at it, it should provide you with a hint, and if you don't catch on it will do it again and again until you do catch on.
  18. What? Where do you get this quest? I don't remember this quest.

It all depends on your opinion of things within the game, whoever you think is the "good" or "bad" side. Avadon would prefer you not burn them, but they wont give you a reward for it. The Wayfarer will reward you for it, but you don't know the motive behind it, but it will become a little clearer as the game progresses. It is your choice, I don't think it will be a big deal if you make a decision you don't like at this point in the game, but I can't say for sure.
  20. The halo games have to be one of my least favorite FPS games of all time. CoD games aren't bad. The best FPS game of all time has to be Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, not only an amazing game, but 100% free!
  21. 1. Describe your perfect sandwich. One that tastes better than all other sandwiches. 2. What is your favorite filling or condiment? Meat. 3. What is your least favorite filling or condiment? Tomatoes. Yuck. 4. How often do you eat sandwiches? Whenever I want one. Depends on what other food is available, which varies often. 5. Have you ever found something really horrible in a sandwich? Tomatoes. Yuck. 6.If you could only eat one type of sandwich for the rest of your life, what would it be? Anything that doesn't have stuff I don't like. 7. White or wheat? Some wheat is good while some is nasty, but white is almost always good, so white. 8. Jelly or jam? Jam, obviously. 9. Pickles or onions? Onions. Cucumbers are nasty. 10. Cheddar or Swiss? Cheddar. 11. Grilled or toasted? Toasted. 12. Explain why sandwiches are better than wraps. Stack it high! 13. Explain why wraps are better than sandwiches. Eat less. 14. Is an open-face sandwich an actual sandwich? Why or why not? A sandwich must be stuff between two pieces of bread. Is an inside-out sandwich a sandwich?
  22. It takes effect while you where it, not during summoning.
  23. In Jeff's blog, he states that he rarely reads his forums, usually only for bug fixing. Jeff most likely wrote the story, and Jeff and his wife both write the dialogue. Jeff doesn't have the resources to hire employees, he does most of the work himself. The ending was probably my favorite part of the whole game I think.
  24. I killed her first as well, but had no problems continuing on with the quest. Make sure you try all dialogue options with Gavin. Maybe you completed the quest and Gavin gave you the next one without you realizing it?
