  2. I don't know, I still prefer pylons over those turrets. Anjali is too beastly of a shaper for her creations to dare think of going rogue.
  3. I wonder how many times this has been asked. I don't think I ever went in there yet, well maybe once with a beefed up character with some quicksilver armor and a powerful healing spell. Don't remember how much I explored in there.
  4. Sharon's Grove, in the room protected by reaper turrets.
  5. Do mean an editor made from editing scripts? When you choose the appropriate dialogue option at the correct sign/obelisk, and the change will be made. It should mention in the text window of the HUD that a stat has increased or something. For geneforge 4, the editor is found by clicking the sign just outside of the place where you get your first equipment. Are you sure you replaced the game file with the editor file? (after backing up the game file of course)
  6. How to kill him: Click to reveal.. In one of the simple pots in the same room he is in is full of trash and a crystal. Smash the crystal.
  7. http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=63222#Post63222 Also, sorry for my misleading information. The crystalline shroud requires a deep focus orb, not purified essence.
  8. It can be crafted from a perfected plate, a demon claw?, and a deep crystal. It must be created on an enchanted anvil. If I remember right, it can be created during the third island. Is demon claw the third ingredient? The crystalline shroud is similar, but it has less armor rating, but it weights less. It can be crafted on an enchanted anvil using a perfected plate, crystalline fibers, and purified essence?
  9. Shapers don't need guardians or agents, except to do the stuff they don't want to bother with and is too complex for simple creations.
  10. Try Ganduv's editor. http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=175661#Post175661 Warning, it is an unofficial editor, and all script editing is unsupported. Allways back up any files you are going to change. Use at your own risk.
  11. Don't tell that to them. They'll sell all their essence pods and learn to type it in less than a second, like me.

  13. I had that problem the first time too. You aren't supposed to release it from those controls. Look around the area, somewhere nearby is a clickable object you can use.

    Pre Ordering

Is it possible to order Avadon: The Black Fortress for PC on CD now, and receive it as soon as it is available for PC?

Enemies that take time and effort to kill are much more enjoyable than killing the same thing hundreds of times per game. It really isn't as fun the second time. More Boss fights welcome.

Oozebeasts occured in G2, but only in a lab in the lair of the bound one. Maybe he was trying to recreate something that he might of found "back home". Then they reproduced creating the oozebeasts of the later games. The last surviving of the original oozebeasts eventually leveled up enough to become the uberoozebeast.

He drops a nice demon claw for you, which you can use to get an emerald chestguard. Originally Posted By: Sage of Numenor 4. Did anyone ever find a drayk named Akkat on Sucia? He is about two zones before the geneforge if I remember right, the other entrance (not the creation holding area that contains Danette's shade). I believe there is a pair of damaged geneforge gloves in that same area. Originally Posted By: Sage of Numenor 7. I, too, battled the Ornk Lord of Geneforge I. What the heck was that all about? What I like best about Geneforge I was the exceptional depth of the background. None of the other games come close. Agreed completely. Geneforge 1 was the best of the series without a doubt. From the very first time you get on the game the music and image sets a mood. That mood is translated throughout the game. The game is full of unique areas. The island itself has an interesting history to discover. Ancient shades and ghosts roam in different areas of the island. It even had the great secret. And no other Geneforge game has anything as interesting as the Ornk Lord. After defeating some beastly Elder Ornks, the Ornk Lord appears in a beam of heavenly light to avenge all the ornks you killed throughout the game. I wished so much for something more than just that little fight. I also wish he was tougher and the gloves were better. It is a shame information about that was never at all expanded throughout the series. Geneforge 2 is in 2nd place. It didn't have the same mood, but it was still more enjoyable than the other games of the series. It replaced shades and ornks with demons. There were about four demons you could meet in the game, and only 3 could have a conversation with you. Information about them is slim, and again, never increased throughout the series. I wish the geneforge series was less about a war, and included more of the geneforge feel. I wish it had more things such as G1 had so much undiscovered history. The series would've been more enjoyable if revelation of such information connected the series. I sincerely hope Jeff does not tie his new series together with just a war and basic concept, but rather with the history and mysterious things being gradually revealed always leaving room for more that makes a series so great.
  18. That cheat code does not exist in Geneforge 2. I am pretty sure it is only a Geneforge 4 and 5 cheat.
  19. No such cheat code exists in the game. However, you can use an unofficial character editor made by editing game scripts. I know at least one person has made one for G2. Try finding one for G2 using search. As a warning, any such editor is unofficial and not supported. Use at your own risk. If you do use it, make sure to back up any scripts being changed. Edit: Quick forum browsing yielded this topic: http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=197006#Post197006
  20. Oh I doubt that. The party is based on characters, not creatures. It will probably be more like Avernum summoning, where you summon the creature and it fights nearby enemies on its own, and then blocks you in a tunnel until you press your spacebar button nearly to the point of breaking before it goes away.
  21. http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=179097#Post179097 That is a link to Strategy Central. Full of strategies and info, and recipes for powerful items and whatnot.
  22. Quote: Dexterity: Affects your ability to dodge (5% increase per point), your attack position, your to hit % with missile weapons, and your acid resistance. This one may be more useful if you like using missile weapons, but can be safely ignored. No mention of affecting spells.
  23. Quote: The shaper in the center appears to be the same character from the intro art (seen shaping a wingbolt), but whether that means he's anyone in particular, I don't know. I thought that represented your character.
  24. Quote: Additional question, I want my Shaper to act a little faster in combat since my DEX is only at 2. I was wondering which skill would have more effect to let me act faster: DEX or Quick Action? Unless you have a very melee based shaper (which isn't very efficient use of skillpoints), go with dexterity. Quick action can give you a chance of a second hit with a melee weapon, but unless you use melee a lot, its not worth the skill points. Dexterity on the other hand is the same skill point cost regardless of class, and it will give you a boost to your missile accuracy, and well as your ability to dodge them. So quick action is pretty much a waste of skill points for a shaper.
  25. Quote: I would always try and have a few ghosts around before I robbed a crystal so I could fight them and get the experience. However, if you force attack any of the ghosts the Icy Spectors will come after you and like you said, they are extremely tough. I remember killing off the earlier shades and never having the icy specters attack me. I would kill whatever shade level I could handle and then leave. After killing everything except the 3 icy specters and the drayk, I could still go near them without being attacked. I used the attack button on them and took the crystals afterward on some occasions, grabbed crystals and got attacked on others. I did this on every playthrough and never have the icy specters attacked my until i tried to take their crystals, attacked them, or made the drayk angry.
