  1. Years of no practice can deteriorate one's skills. As in G5
  2. https://www.politicalcompass.org/yourpoliticalcompass?ec=-4.0&soc=-5.08
  3. The idea of genetically modifying humans has been an idea around for a while. The problem was implementing it and we're finally making some headway. A few years ago I was against the idea of modifying humans; but now I see there are helpful things we can do such as treat heritable diseases. The problem might be (like in Geneforge) the power would only be available to a small portion of society. Is this the new pressure that the human race will evolve towards? Very interesting, yet scary at the same time.
  4. By definition a foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious. or a single-minded expert in a particular technical field. There's probably a quiz online that tells how nerdy a person is. Good look figuring out if you're a nerd or not.
  5. Post n+1, where n is the previous post.
  6. What if the players can choose their own factions and lay their own plans for their faction emerging victorious? Say individual factions have their own private messages to GoldG, and she rolls die for each action? Then it unfolds on the storyline and the Shapers(players) can decide how to react, if at all?
  7. But there are so many more factions in Geneforge... Taygen will have his justice!

    Europe

Sorry, I'm having trouble understand Switzerland's lowering of their currency peg. Does that mean the exchange rate for Switz franc is lower and thus monies within Switz banks will have a lower value? Edit: Thanks for explaining Count Hogan Also, I think all the debts of the world will never be repaid. This system runs on the fact that people owe each other money. Much similar to Alexander's Hamilton's idea of the beauty of neutrality reassurance through repayments. And the dropping of the Euro might not be bad. People might actually start investing in Europe more or something
  9. Tabletop game? From the ones I can remember though... 5/5: Axis and Allies, 4/5: Chess, Chinese Chess, Go, Poker, Monopoly(With friends), 3/5: Yu-gi-oh, Magic: The Gathering, Game of Life, Clue, Scrabble, Battleship, Dungeons and Dragons, 2/5: Pokemon, Checkers, Risk, Candy Land, 1/5: Haven't found a tabletop game I've found so terrible that I would put it here. Some of them get +-0.5, but that's making it too complicated.
  10. I have no idea on computers. Maybe clear cashe, check recent changes to your computer (like downloads), or contact the server. Hope you figure it out
  11. Gratz on the 4000. May there be many more to come Edit: Nice Kuvira pic Zuko still the best tho
  12. Everything is everyone's fault. Sometimes we choose to ignore the problem. Sometimes we do not know the problem. But just because we did not know about it does not mean we are not at fault. There needs to be more transparency on how the products we buy are made. But who's to say the supplier won't lie/"spice up" their product's production with flavourful words? Just as how "organic" and "recyclable" has these negative consequences for the rest of the world. But this doesn't mean we need to punish every one for taking part in these horrible crimes. That wouldn't solve anything. Every one just needs to be educated on everything they do. But who has the time for that? Oh wait, we do if we take our faces off our phones and tablets for one bloody minute. But no one is going to do that.
  13. Nobody forced you to vote in this poll though.
  14. People who vote "No" do not truely dislike polls; else they would not have voted in this one :^)
  15. Geneforge series guaranteed the best.
  16. You're not trying hard enough to find the presence; look farther, look deeper! And like all RPGs, if you truly immerse yourself into the world, you would remember the location of the quest giver. Perhaps you are more used to the style where the game gives you all the hints and helps? But if you really need the help, there are two incomplete walk-throughs available online: http://jlsgaladriel.livejournal.com/165163.html http://www.gamefaqs.com/mac/699314-geneforge-saga/faqs/58488 I myself have not tried playing the game with a track pad. I haven't had any problems with a mouse so I suggest using a mouse instead.
  17. Above all else, a Junk bag More diverse spells, such as removing lightning, teleport, invisibility for 16 AP or something, etc. Healing up the characters if you change items concerning str(and essence from int, etc) I don't want to enter town twice just to heal that important sliver Fix minor story complications that do no make sense. Like quests that remain if you can't finish it after doing something else. Or storyline remains the same even tho you did some other quest/killed someone. Or people remaining friendly even though you killed their friends/allies. Edit: Make Romance an option that players can choose at the beginning of the game. The text could be added in and be managed as a side quest available only to players who want it. Make Stealth a skill?
  18. What I really love about the Geneforge series is the flexibility of the storyline (Esp. Geneforge 1). You can walk your own destiny, forge and break allegiances, be a sneaky spy, righteous hero, or all powerful wizard. There was so much room to do everything differently twice, and more! Wrapping it all up, the decisions that YOU make decides the outcome of the story, not having the story forcing you to streamline to one ending. In addition, there is also the introduction of moral values, codes of play, and provoking thoughts on how we perceive the Geneforge world in relation to how we act in real life. Do we treat animals like children? Is genetic modification a good or bad thing? What makes a faction evil or good? I think all of this, and more, combined really makes Geneforge a one-of-a-kind game and keep players desiring for more. Geneforge 1-5 remake please. And some similar series please. Pleaseeee
  19. The long forgotten "doge", (dôg, dg) n. pl. dog·gies A dog, especially a small one. from thefreedictionary.
  20. SUPER WICKED, you can even say it's overpowered.
  21. If you play through Steam, check your game library. If you're on Windows, run Search. If you're on Mac, I think you can run Search as well. Otherwise, I think the files were deleted or you don't own those games.
  22. Wait a few decades and it will be profitable. If not, the government will probably subsidize the cost with taxpayer dollars. I say this because I am pretty sure clean energy is in our future.
