  1. Economic Left/Right: -6.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79 I'm a radical!
  2. Hi fellow Geneforge player http://spiderwebforums.ipbhost.com/index.php?/topic/20328-oh-my-god/ I can't help you with finding the item... but Next time only place your items in a major city!
  3. I am so stoked to find that the price for this week is 80% off! Just wow. I can't wait to get in to the game. More great story line and another world to explore. I'm sure it cannot compare to the Geneforge series (Geneforge 6 PLEASE), but can anything!? I've tried the demo before and it wasn't bad. I just hope I can handle the weird pathing. First off I'm gonna try a 2 man party normals.
  4. And that is why many people regard G1 and G2 as the best of the five rpgs. More freedom to do what we want and how we affect the story.
  5. A vast majority of humans would want to take the test. People want to learn more about themselves, and the test seems intriguing enough to attract takers. I myself would like to take it as well, as long as it's not too long of a test. :3
  6. I checked the inner crypt in Geneforge. I couldn't find/remember any lava pits. Regardless: I hope you have the augment skill(From your healing arts). Or some sort of blessing skill for defense like essence shield. Usually lava pits can be turned off. Look around and see if there is a lever/control pedestal. If all else fails, I'm afraid you're going to have to settle for using a creation to walk over the pit and see if there is anything important past it or find another route around.
  7. Spolier: Buff self with augment(Healing abilities are in shaping section so I would assume you have some skill in augment, if not from canisters). I recommend absorbing your creations and doing this part alone. It saves time and your party won't be clumped up. Turn on fight mode. Walk next to walls. Peek pass corners to check for pylons, then walk back. Repeat this at every corner. I know it's tedious but this is the role play part. You're being sneaky! Remember to watch your AP while you do this... Heal if you get hit by the pylons and remember to save often! Save on a different save file if you're unsure about the distance you've put between you and a exit region. (You can always go back to autosave, but that will mean you need to redo the entire map.) This is what I did when I played with an Agent, thought it was MUCH easier with the speed boost. At first I found this part of Geneforge very annoying but it gets a lot easier once you get the hang of it. Just keep avoiding the pylons and speed past the monsters to look for the servant mind.
  8. Wow personally I love the towns. There's so many nooks and crannies you can explore. Maybe you find a secret passage or there's a way you can sneak into the enemy base. Even the NPCs are sometimes hilarious. Each has their own thing to add so you can learn more about the area or just what kind of alignment the person is with. But then there are SO many quest givers I just go crazy. Esp since some quests CAN'T be completed. Geneforge mainly has the ups tho
  9. I checked all the games you guys mentioned on google/youtube and they just can't match up to par with the Geneforge series, and I've already tried some Avadon (It's... ehhhhh okay). There's always a gripe here and there that I can't stand. It's too bad. Geneforge 7 where are you???? Edit: Whoops mybad I miscouted cuz I remmeber most spiderweb* games have like... two trilogies...
  10. It just screwed today for me. Missed an hour of my first class. gg
  11. There are sadists. There are the curious. Some can't stomach it. Some can. Some know it's just a game. Some feel it's all too real. It's different for everyone but I'm pretty much pro-Shaper in all my Geneforge playthroughs but even then I sometimes feel sorry for the creations. ie. An earlier post I made on the topic of creation rights: http://spiderwebforu...n-rights-event/ Did I mention stealing and slaughter of both humans and creations? Yeah, that happened.
  12. ...the Geneforge series? I'm particularly interested in the deep story line, expansive world, and turn-based combat system. The good story telling is a must. I don't want an rpg that just goes around hacking monsters. A sci-fi fantasy setting like Geneforge is a bonus Honestly I would start on other spidweb games but I don't like the gaming engine of the early avernum and other similar games. It takes so long for me to travel to a spot, and the movements are too rigid for my taste. I'm not saying those games overall are not good. The way you play the game is just not my cup of tea, I hope you understand?
  13. Hi I mainly play the Geneforge and Avadon series but I was wondering... which of the series produced by Spiderweb software is the most successful? Successful as in highest number of sales, not value of sales.
  14. I'm surprised that there are so many scientists, that's all. Geneforge -> "gene" -> scientist.
  15. I was actually going for this, coveying this I mean lolllll And I really organize my stuff, like I keep everything that has a unique name at the docks. Gear get one pile, wands get one pile, rings get one pile(teehee), ingredients get one pile, potions/spores/elixirs get one pile, and quest items/misc get one pile. But I still have to make 3-4 trips to gather and sell the unwanted items from heavy-"loot" areas. The day counter is bugging me as well. Makes me feel slow lol. I'll stick to getting every item 4g+ . I'm going crazy but I really can't let myself go from getting these items and selling them. And speaking of completion, I really don't like how we can't complete some quests. Oh well. AUGH
  16. I want a junk bag. I have a habit of collecting everything that could be worth anything from the ground and selling it, even if it's just one coin. The earlier bit of Geneforge 3 is not so bad, but right now I'm spear heading the assault on the western front on Dhonal Isle and there are so many things to pick up I'm losing my mind. I can't pick it all up at once and to make matters worse, some friendly areas do not even buy your useless junk, only sell. (ie. Main Encampment). The system currently in place only allows a certain number of items in one's bag. Why can't we have a junk bag like we did in Avadon 1+2??? I'm losing my mind. This OCD. And might I suggest a bank where we can keep our precious and is accessible throughout the islands?
  17. U mean we never get to explore Sholai lands, the Nodye coast, or Lethia province? Ever?! There are so many cities unexplorable on G5... I hope G6+ comes...
  18. I was walking around exploring the Barzite's Radiant College. I had high leadership so I convinced the woman greeter that I was allowed entry on Barzhal's orders. There was a northwestern section that was allowed only to Barzites but I found two ways to get in, by going through the power generators or primary heat control center. I went into combat mode and used speed on myself (I'm an Agent). Slowly I poked around the halls and when I turned towards the central complex, Burham was there ready to fight me. I didn't want to anger the Barzites yet and I wasn't strong enough to handle Burham and his patrolling golems so I hastily retreated back to the essence pools in the southwestern part of the College. After a while, I found that Burham was still chasing me but everyone else in the college is still friendly. Burham died to his own men and it was all my fault. My question is, is it okay that he dies? I'm thinking he only matters if you join the Barzites but I really don't like the way the story panned out because IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. I'm thinking of going back to the part before I walked into Burham's laboratory. But my question is, is this an error in the coding of an unforseen event?
  19. It happened just west of Gheth. I encountered a completely rogue Battle Beta that would gladly fight any Shaper. Being a Loyalist myself, naturally I entered the duel against it. Two shots of acid missiles left the Battle Beta begging to be left alone. But, a rogue creation is a rogue creation. It will only be problematic to leave one out near a bridge. As such I decided to tell the Battle Beta to follow me, to try and convince it to leave it's rogue life. However, rather than submit to "slavery", the Battle Beta twisted it own head to avoid such a fate with me. To me, this is the most convincing Creation Rights event I have ever experienced in Geneforge 2. To loathe following shapers so much that it would kill itself, rather than follow blindly. And perhaps it only made it more heartbreaking when the Beta used simple, childlike sentences. It was until I met Learned Darien and saw his ability to convince others of my political alignment, along with the fact that Darien needed me to kill the Battle Beta thus exposing me to this event, did I realise that it was all planned. You won't take me Rebels! The Shapers will have their utopia!
  20. Participation is really low. ~155 views and only 11 responses. I'm not taking your credit card or anything!!!
  21. Scientist is specifically mentioned because... genes... you know? xD
  22. I thought it would be interesting to see what field Geneforge players are working in. This game can inspire people http://strawpoll.me/1000606
  23. Read through all your suggestions and I am grateful; however, I think I'll just trudge through the countless deaths scenes and hope I can get through with Agent. It's not that bad actually but just a bit repetitive. I learned agents get many more spells later in the series
  24. There are two docks isn't there? I can't tell how close I am to the "end" of the game.
