Garrulous Glaahk Geneforgeisformeyukkyu
I have 2 questions: 1. If your a beta tester, is the beta-mode game free, or do you still have to pay? 2. Where do I apply, if it is?

Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Be patient- this isn't that trafficked of a forum, compared to some others, and the beta testers are a decided minority. They're all too busy beta-testing to check regularly.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Yes, you get the game free if you beta test. If you want to test, watch Spiderweb's home page. There will be an announcement when they're ready for testers. Edit: Quit stealing Dikiyoba's posts, Nalyd.
Garrulous Glaahk Brock The Archmage
Hmmm, I don't care about getting the game free, I am more concerned with my 2 reasons for wanting to do it. I figure I would buy it any way just to support Jeff. First, to see a game that isn't QUITE finished completely, always thought it would be interesting, and second, If i find major glitches or issues that I tell him about to correct, the game is better for when I do play it! yay! Tenderfoot Thahd FragmentFour
Fantastic news about Geneforge 5! Many, many thaks. NOT fantastic news about it being labeled the final game of the series. How do we change that?????
Easygoing Eyebeast Xaiya
I know this series is great, but aren't you curious about what the something new will be? Besides, based on what I hear this will be an excellent conclusion to Geneforge. I hope.
Well-Actually War Trall Rowen
Will this game be friendly to first-timers to the Geneforge saga? Or will I be lost like a little lamb that has wandered from the flock?
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
You will not be lost like a little lamb. If anything, you will be lost like a little ornk. Dikiyoba.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Spiderweb's games usually don't require knowledge of the previous games. You should, of course, still buy them all.
Tenderfoot Thahd FragmentFour
I am curious about new coming things - but NOT at the expense of Geneforge! Truth be told, I'd like to have both. But... gees, I don't want this series to end.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
It's time has come. We can't have Geneforge lingering on, sick and old, besmirching it's otherwise deserved good name.

Unflappable Drayk Sleeping Dragon
I agree with The Limper, Jeff probably doesn't want the game getting stale, so he is cutting it down in it's prime instead. I take solace in knowing that Jeff has a habit of remaking old games anyway, so I doubt this will truly be the last we see of this world. My only regret is that he is ending on an odd number, the obsessive compulsive part of me wishes he's stop at six instead.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
But now we can have an exact middle of the series! By the way, this is Nalyd. The PDN is because, well, Nalyd is currently limping.

Easygoing Eyebeast Xaiya
I accept things ending at 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, and 12. I don't know about anything further, but if I see it...I will know whether or not I like something ending at that number. So in other words, I am Iffy about anything above 12. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Jeff is kind of busy fixing errors in GF5 and writing the second half of the game, It is huge with all the dialog branches based upon which faction you join and your rebel/shaper reputation. Easygoing Eyebeast Xaiya
Five factions!
Garrulous Glaahk Brock The Archmage
I doubt unaligned is an option unless there is some way to kill everyone and everything and rule the world yourself. The thing about unaligned in G1 and 2 that I noticed is the game assumes that mean true loyalty to the Shapers. I don't know if G4 had one, however. So....Maybe? EDIT: i haven't played G4, so if I sound ignorant, that's why.

Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
My brother has this theory that Jeff & Co. intended for us to cheat. Does anyone else think that? This could also be a question for Jeff.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
He intended for cheating to be an accessible and, well, viable option, hence the character editors and codes in his games. —Alorael, who isn't really sure if that's the same as intending. He also clearly balances his games to be fun if you're not cheating. In fact, if you're not cheating, not playing on torment, and used to his games (and min-maxing them), they're easing without cheating. So yes, there was a better way for Uber Ur-drakon to say his post. For me, I get used to the game and a second run through is easier. Third time, even easier...and so on. Articulate Vlish callsignAPOLLO
The more this game is refined, the more it looks like Blizzard's Diablo series! Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Both times the word has been correctly spelled but not the right word. A grammar checker might catch it, but I never believe those anyway. —Alorael, who doesn't think Geneforge is anything like Diablo, what with it not being an action RPG and all. In fact, except for having an isometric view and movement by clicking, and for having fantasy settings, the two have almost nothing in common.
