  1. I'll judge. I was gone almost all of July and into August until now, so my scenario is not getting completed. BTW, when's the deadline, again?
  2. What exactly are the bonuses Divinely Touched gives?
  3. I don't remember a topic like this. I play cello and piano, with guitar on the side, and I like Bach's six cello suites, especially the 3rd + 5th + 6th, the Elgar cello concerto, Dvorak, Rachmaninoff, and others. Away from classical styles, I like Air, Zero 7, Wax Tailor, Sia, Bonobo, Morcheeba, Phronesis, Stacey Kent, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Röyksopp, Smashmouth, The White Stripes, The Ting Tings, ...
  4. Geneforge 5 has PDF as well. And both can be ordered as booklets if you pay a shipping charge.

Someone else mentioned this once, and I think Random or Synergy mentioned that they just prefer to see a female figure rather than a brutish male (in Nethergate). This topic exemplifies what I love most about Spiderweb games. It's always been about the stories, for me. Both the ones contained in the games, and the ones spawned by me, between PC's. I really like the graphics, though, especially terrain. Another thing I love is the palpable, unique atmosphere each game has. An odd thing I've noticed about exceptionally meaningful art (and, well, SW games!) is that they are somehow taxing. I sometimes need a hiatus from SW games, or from exceptionally passionate music, or deep discussions. I know that at least one other member has mentioned needing a break from SW. I'm curious: Do you take / need breaks from SW and why?

I've never met someone who knew of SW. Then again, this is Utah...

Once you hit the damage cap of 199 per blow and the dodge cap, there's pretty much no reason to spend points.
  8. Well, seeing as I can't finish my own in time, since I'll be gone a lot, I'd love to. 1. Fractal 2. thefractalman (at) gmail (dot) com 3. Mac OSX (10.5.8) 4. ...must it be asked?

This is sad. I think I actually dreamed an "Oh, hey, Avernum" moment. Edit: Whee! 300 posts!
  10. Wow, I remember that one ... but didn't he claim innocence? I wonder how many name-type things are on there. Edit: Don't you love how if you search something that isn't on there, the "yet" is a link? It's like they want random madness no one actually says. Ah, well. Who can blame them? ...
  11. Actually, I think acid does stack. (Not certain, though.) Really it's just a matter of preference. If you always open with acid spray, it's probably more useful to use a golden crystal.
  12. I say try the contest. This is a pretty casual one. I'm trying it, and have very little experience. Welcome, and good luck!
  13. Quote: Make a scenario where the party has to rescue someone. The scenario will take place in caves. The party will spend most of the time fighting troglodyte mages. Three things will be important to the plot: a sinister conspiracy, a last request someone has made, and a fearsome stalker. Well, it could be good...hm.
  14. Try quitting Mail when you're going to play. I seem to recall that it can also take control of the keyboard.
  15. All sounds glorious. I hope to participate, despite my horrific lack of design skills. Ah well, I have to practice somehow! I'm excited!

  18. Erika is my favorite. I have to appreciate someone with so much passion (both for magic, to get to her high state of power, and for revenge on the Empire). I also like Linda, but mainly because she's so hilariously insane and devoted to danger. Originally Posted By: Monroe They had as much personality as one assigned to them. Odd weather...

The weather is always ridiculous here, for a desert. It was freeeeeeeezing cold on May 24, with some snow. And now it's in the 80's. Plants always end up getting damaged because of random snowstorms in April and May. May 1 had around six inches.
  20. He's a very good writer with a unique and peculiar style. I liked it. Now I'm remembering a similarly haunting puzzle game, now gone from me, but this one's only about 20 years old.
  21. I tried re-downloading, but to no avail. Do you think it matters what you use to expand the files? I used Stuffit this time and Archive Utility last time. I don't see any .bmp's, so I assume I should just try downloading the Windows version later. It should be noted that I've only played Valley of Dying Things so far. Well, I did do Echoes: Assault, as well. On first attempt, the graphics did not work. However, using the included .zip of the .meg for that scenario and using the new file instead of the old fixed the problem. Since most scenarios don't have included .zip's, I wonder if they'll all have this problem?
  22. I don't know much about it, but sometimes, usually in April, there's a group of bikers that starts riding all across Utah and other nearby places, picking up more as they go. I've seen them plowing down the road, en masse, with as much as 200 bikers (spread across a chunk of time).

  24. In all my ineptness, I've not yet figured out how to use .meg files in Open Blades of Exile. I'm on a Mac running 10.5.8 (Intel 2.4 GHz). I'm using the version of the game found on the Google code page. In Valley of Dying Things, the custom graphics are not showing up as intended. Those light crystals and the glowing portculli are black squares, and the gremlins are invisible. (The associated .meg file for the scenario is indeed in the correct place.) What am I doing wrong? Or is it just not supported yet? Thanks in advance.
