If someone lived within 1,000 miles of Chicago and did not suck, they would move to Chicago. Since they have not moved, we can only assume the null hypothesis. QED. What if we're moving to Chicago for the start of fall courses?

  3. Jeff (the programmer for these games) doesn't check these forums very often. If you're having a serious issue, the best choice is to email him directly at support@spiderwebsoftware.com
  4. Trenton, you misunderstood SoT. He was saying that MLP sounds like a show worth collecting for his retirement. He has no time for it right now, but he may consider it somewhere down the line.
  5. When Jeff updates, he'll do what he thinks is best. He'll probably wait until G1 is no longer supported for play on new operating systems. At that point, he'll remake at least all of the games that are no longer supported. I believe that all 5 use more or less the same engine, so he could be forced into a total remake. Otherwise, he'll judge which games need a remake based on how they compare to his latest specs.

Normal items aren't worth picking up because their sell value is so low, and just about everything else gets sold or salvaged. I'm interested to see how the items specs go as I get into higher difficulties. So far they all seem rather mundane. I really can't speak for atmosphere, since I've never been able to play Diablo I. I decided to try it a while ago, only to find that I no longer have a machine that supports Mac OS Classic, and I'm not running bootcamp -> win7 -> compatibility mode just to play it.
  8. I'm with Alorael. If it's real, it's a fantastic story. If it's made up, it's still better than every other use of troll-faces on the internet. EDIT: And just like that, my 2000th post is wasted on this little 2-line comment.
  9. If you're really having trouble seeing the switches, a member made a script edit to make them easier to see. There is a link for that in the Strategy Central thread at the top of the Avadon page.
  10. That has got to be one the best applications of psychological conditioning that I've seen in a long while!
  11. I'm guessing that one needs some kind of log-in to view that story, Dinti, because I just get directed to funnyjunk.

  13. ES, I think he was going with First Person Shooter.
  14. I haven't been here since the release of D3. I was busy most of the first day, so the down time didn't bother me too much. When I was playing (single player) earlier today, though, I had to stop because I kept getting bad server lag and dying. (Actual lag death, not ego-defense lag death). So far I've only played single player because I'm still getting a feel for the game and I'd like to see how good the plot is. So far I've enjoyed it. The plot is a bit more fleshed out than D2, even if the game is the same linear hack'n'slash style. I would prefer to be able to play fully offline, but my offline character can play online, which, in keeping with D2's closed BNet, requires that the character information be stored on the battlenet server.
  15. I remember seeing that pattern as well. Is it perhaps zone specific? Are the fyoras in the later zones higher level, causing you to get more experience?
  16. Death Knight, it's a shame that you can't enjoy these games. I admit - these are some pretty tough games, and I can see and understand your frustration. There is one point, though, that I'd like to mention. Originally Posted By: Death Knight I know its been said that if you can't play the game on normal, you should go to easy or casual. Im sorry, i find that to be to pathetic for me to do that. The "easy/casual" option is there for people who want to enjoy the story without struggling through the difficult encounters. I'm not sure if it would help keep from wounding your ego, but you could play and think of it more as an interactive story than a video game.
  17. SoT, welcome to the internet, where we have a meme for everything. Actually, the "1 - 2 - 3 - 4. Profit" predates the popularity of the word "meme."
  18. If you've bought the game from the app store, send an email to Jeff with the registration info. Last I knew, he was providing direct Spiderweb codes for people that purchased elsewhere, free of charge. And saves will transfer fully.
  19. I read nearly every entry that I found. I play the games for the immersion, and they helped complete the experience. Jeff is a great writer. I also enjoyed looking for awkward wording and grammar/usage mistakes. But that's just me
  20. I recall you from a while back. Enjoy the latest and greatest UBB!

  22. Aran's bot servers are hosted in the US, so we're all American.

  24. Ahh, it's good to have the forums back again. I think Sylae pretty much covered it all in saying that mood changes are here and the member number script is missing (it drives me nuts too!). Also, does the quick reply box appear smaller for anyone else?
  25. It took a while before I realized that it was Dikiyoba's real preference, as well. I gave up my preference for pronouns over nouns to keep things civil. I also think that we should take Slarty's advice and give Trenton, and everyone involved, the benefit of the doubt. The issue seems to be dealt with, so I think that we should cool down and let it go rest. There is a lot that we can learn about it, but debating past motives isn't the greatest way to improve the future.
