  1. Some weapons skills can be nice for magic casters in A5 and 6 for the disciplines. For A4 (A5? Dunno if it has unlock spell) you may want to have your dedicated mage have tool use but just remembering to dump wisdom crystals on him to account for it. As for best setup, I like to have two warriors to absorb damage (sword human and pole slith) and deal it back then have the fragile magic casters healing and doing damage themselves. In the early avernum games I used to have an archer nephil who had the tool use, but I eventually abandoned doing so in the later Avernums due to bows being so weak and separated my wizard into a mage and a priest. If this post sounds awful, it's because I just dealt with classes, including a midterm, on four hours of sleep.
  2. Vigorously shoving posts into the box, Sylae?
  3. If you kill quest givers or the mayor, you can always give the dialog to some obscure sign.

    What?

Hmm. Doesn't look like it'll be long before he surpasses me.
  5. Because coffee Click to reveal.. Horrible pic as it was taken with a low quality webcam and we were too lazy to retry to get it perfect, but I'm showing it since it shows three refugi simultaneously. From the left; Neb, Vergil (aka Xelgion), and myself. And no, the sizes of our heads in relation to each other in this pic is simply a trick of the angle. Click to reveal..
  6. "Make my BoA scenarios suck less." Well, probably not really and not like that, as I'm not much for demanding, but yeah. In actuality, I'm not quite sure. Having been raised in a different environment and by different people, I wouldn't quite be the same. Thus, I can't be sure how I'd be.
  7. Then the openness to experience was mostly inaccurate, so I decided not to show the results. Overall, though, no surprise here.
  8. Mmm it should prove interesting to see where this goes.

    Custom Titles?

    I suppose I'm special?
  10. @Sylae and Slith: Sent Though it just now occurred to me that I had acquired custom graphics for this and cannot remember where I got them from.
  11. After a few years of working on this off and on, I think it may finally be ready to beta test. Although to note, it has a mix of my current writing skills and the crappy ones of the past. I've searched throughout to make sure to re-write the crappy bits, but probably missed some. There also may be bugs or things I should add. But this is exactly why I need beta testers like you. That's right! I'm requesting three maximum. You must own BoA (obviously), have some experience in playing (experience in scripting would be a nice plus, but not required), provide your email (you may PM it if you aren't comfortable posting it. I will keep it secret), and it is requested that you be capable of getting back to me with feedback in a reasonable fashion. Reply to this thread if interested. The scenario is about of medium length. 12 towns, 3 outdoor sections. It is very combat heavy, and there may be instances where you'll begin fantasizing of ways to murder me. I can be contacted at iffyreapssouls(at)yahoo(dot)com , through PM, or through the calref chat which I frequent. Though if you sign up, I will likely contact you first. Thanks in advance!
  12. A contest sounds nice, but I still have an unfinished scenario that I started in...god, 2009 I think?
  13. Mmm. Seems like an eternity ago when we had the (more) unstable version of UBB...

I'd say more, but I've already spoken to Sylae in private many times, so yeah.

    This is it

They always return. Somehow. You'll crush a spider a few months from now and suddenly think of the forums here. And it's only a couple clicks away...

Give it a try.
  21. "Claymore! Here kitty! I got a treat for you!" said a voice within a blasted, though useable structure. A gray maine coon cat with black streaks appeared, strolling apathetically, followed by a last second dash to the treat. Fresh fish dipped in chicken blood? Delicious! A hand moved over towards the kitty's head, stroking him behind the ears. He purred happily as he gulped down his treat. The hand pulled away. The young man, known to most he has spoken to as Kal, proceeded to stand up. He was white, fairly well tan from countless expeditions outside, appearing to be about his mid-20s. Worn and patched jeans donned his lower half, completed with a white shirt. He had medium-short messy hair and gray-blue eyes. After a quick glance to the kitty, who blinked up at him before trotting off. Kal walked over towards the dark back of the building, lifting up a trapdoor almost completely indistinguishable from the floor, and walked down the steps. A light flickered on with a quick pull of string, illuminating the conceled basement. Shelves of scrap, partially re-constructed parts, and some functional machinery decorated much of the room. Kal sat at a workdesk, pieces of scrap waiting for him there, and continued on a project he began months ago, papers of sorts scattered around. While looking, he began to once again reminisce, a habit he picked up for to cope for long stretches of loneliness. Oh how long ago it had been when he first started taking apart various objects just to see how they worked. Mishaps earning him the nickname Calamity with Kal for short. When he...no, that memory must not be touched. Rather, a decade ago--damn was it that long ago? Or longer? Quite a while ago--when he found what would place his work in an entirely new direction. How no one had found the ship with parts that weren't completely melted was still an oddity. A sudden noise woke him from his trance. He heard the distinct alarm alerting him of another presence on his turf and cursed. He opened a drawer and pulled out a handgun. He quietly walked up and creaked open the trapdoor. A man, very likely a bandit, was trying to get after the chickens, pulling out a gun. Kal was just about to fire off his own firearm to chase the bandit off when Claymore appeared. The cat jumped up and slashed at his wrist, causing the man to shriek in pain and alarm while dropping the gun. The bandit proceeded to run in terror, presumably to where he came from. Kal then went back down. "Damn bandits running my energy sources. Never easy supplying anything in this blasted world." Kal then continued work on his project. ----- [ooc]Note: I did clear the whole bit with technology with Sylae. This is NOT an invitation for people to go all out with laser guns. It's merely a rediscovery. As you can see here, the little work with electricity is fairly primitive. Besides, you should find your own unique thing for your character. [/ooc]

    .

While I do somewhat see your point, sea, I do believe you are exaggerating how Spidwerweb boss fights are. Your issues and problem with that there's a lack of tactics is, well, you haven't been able to figure them out. I've hardly ever had much problem with most spidweb games I've played. There's some things I bet many overlook. Also, I rarely use potions or any consumable items. That said, the combat systems of the spidweb games aren't my favorite. They do have flaws as well. But in themselves, the games are pretty solid.
