  1. 1. What is your age? 28 2. What part of the world do you live in? In which part of the world were you born? What countries have you lived in? I've lived in Pennsylvania all my life. (northeastern US) I've traveled to most of the the eastern half of the US as well as parts of Canada, the UK, and France. 3. What is your native language? In what languages are you proficient? I'm a native English speaker. I can also (mostly) read French, although I'm too rusty at this point to try to speak it. Based on this knowledge of French, I can often puzzle out sentences written in other Romance languages. Beyond that, I know a smattering of German. 4. Describe your ancestry. German, Scottish, English, Swiss, and Dutch. 5. Describe your gender identity and sexual orientation. I am a mostly heterosexual cisgender man. 6. Do you have any religious or spiritual beliefs? If so, describe them. In what religious tradition(s) were you raised, if any? I was raised Lutheran but am now a born again atheist. 7. What is your relationship status? Do you have any children? I am currently single and neither have nor plan on ever having children. 8. Describe your social class. Have you always been in this class? I've always been middle class. In fact, I am literally in the process of buying a house with a white picket fence. 9. Have you ever served in the military? If so, what division? I have not. 10. What is your occupation (or former occupation)? What is your highest level of education (and your degree, if applicable)? I am a consumer tech support lead at a major ISP. I have a high school diploma and have not completed any post-secondary education (nor am I likely to).
  2. It worked fairly well for the Roman Empire at times. Of course, there were times when it did not, but you asked if it had ever gone well, not if it always did.
  3. I made a side quest list a few years ago that may help.
  4. I actually enjoy having Numerius as the fifth character in a Celt party. If I'm exploring a dungeon, it keeps a monster from sneaking up behind me and hitting one of my weak druids.
  5. I could not have said it better myself. As far as I know, I never got a Sylak door open, but I did manage to survive the fall in the abandoned mine very early in the game once.
  6. The link I posted in that thread doesn't work anymore, but the game is still hosted on my site here. Also, I'm here all the time; I just rarely have anything to say.
  7. Yeah, I knew what you meant. I don't understand why it requires a 64-bit CPU if it doesn't use a 64-bit kernel on all machines though.
  8. That's odd. 10.7 requires a 64-bit processor.
  9. Yes. OS X supported 64-bit applications since 10.5. 10.6 a 64-bit kernel, (Although it also had a 32-bit kernel for not 64-bit CPUs.) and 10.7 and up are 64-bit only (Kernel-wise, anyway. They still run 32-bit apps.)
  10. Someone should make a scenario larger than 4GB to make this worthwhile.
  11. For what it's worth, it is highly unlikely that there will ever be any leaks, in the traditional sense, for any SW games, since the company consists of three people.
  12. I checked the files on my site, and the Mac version was missing that file. It was present in the Windows version. I have now fixed the Mac version. It can be downloaded here. In my defense, the file I originally uploaded to my site came directly from Smoo's website to begin with.
  13. Yeah, you can format an HFS+ volume as case sensitive, but that's really not a good idea, as you are likely to encounter applications that do not expect it to be case sensitive. IIRC, this has been a problem with SW games in the past.
  14. Both of these links lead to the Mac version. I have made a Windows version and uploaded both the Windows and Mac versions to my scenario database.
  15. You also need the instructions for closing the portal, which can be found at the barrier tower. It's along the river to the Vahnatai lands, a tower with some magical barrier preventing you from getting in. There is a sign next to it with portal coordinates, that you can use at the Tower of Magi. If you didn't get it on the way to the Vahnatai, you'll need to reset boats with the Character Editor to get there from Formello.
  16. You're barely behind then. There have been two specials in the past 9 months, but that's it. Shows still in production that I watch include but are probably not limited to Archer, Black Sails, Boardwalk Empire, CSI, Californication, Castle, Continuum, The Daily Show, Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Elementary, Falling Skies, Foyle's War, Game of Thrones, Hell on Wheels, Last Week Tonight, Mad Men, Masters of Sex, Mr. Selfridge, NCIS, The Newsroom, Once Upon a Time, Orphan Black, Ripper Street, Royal Pains, The Simpsons, Sons of Anarchy, Top Gear, Under the Dome, Vicious, The Walking Dead, and White Collar.
  17. I've made a few updates to the wrappers. They now use the same version of Wineskin that Good Old Games uses in their retail wrappers. I have modified the keyboard mappings in order to allow saving and loading with Cmd-S and Cmd-O as well as cardinal direction movement with the arrow keys. Also, there are now two versions of each game, fullscreen and windowed. In order to play the game in a window rather than an unmovable box in the middle of the screen, I had to set specific display settings in the wrapper. Since my goal is to make these games easy to play and not needlessly complicated, it made sense to do that work for everyone and offer both versions. Both will load save files created by the other.
  18. [Link removed]. I made this quite some time ago for personal use but was reticent to share it because it's the full registered version. If SW is handing out the installer on request, I see no reason not to make it available to everyone. This is a Mac app made from the Windows version running in a Wineskin wrapper with remapped keys allowing Cmd-O and Cmd-S to open and save and cardinal direction movement with the arrow keys.
  19. Tridash made an Intel build quite some time ago. It's linked in the forum header no less.
  20. You will be missed.
  21. It did not exist in Avernum 1 or any of the games that use that engine. This bug is peculiar to the engine that Geneforge, Avadon and the later Avernum games use.
  22. Blades of Exile was the same way. It is available now only because it was made open source. In Nethergate's case, Spiderweb has no impetus to release the original as freeware when they are still selling Nethergate: Resurrection.
  23. It depends on the game. I have no issue playing SW games with a touchpad, but I would hate to play an FPS that way.
