Tyranicus replied to jkanavar's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2011-2018 Remastered Versions)
The second torch room works just like the first. -
A:EftP - Silvar Guard help!!!
Tyranicus replied to Meri20098's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2011-2018 Remastered Versions)
As far as I can tell, the game will not let you attack a non-hostile target or steal something where someone can see you, so it is theoretically not necessary. This makes this issue even more peculiar. -
I wish I had known this before I bought the game on Steam.

Ironically, I didn't actually realize who you were until I saw your picture. The PDN should have been a giveaway, but I was thinking that was a coincidence.

Especially since you can get the lava-fired spear very early in the game. -
Given incorrect registration # for Geneforge bundle?
Tyranicus replied to loolie's topic in Tech Support
That means you have the demo and not the registered version. The code it gives is one that you would provide when registering in order to get the correct registration code. I would suggest contacting support@spiderwebsoftware.com -
The cache is also cleared with the Clear History and Website Data command. I hadn't suggested that because I assumed he had already done this since he mentioned he deleted the cookies.

At this point, I would suggest nuking and paving. If you delete the Safari folder from your user library, whatever is causing this should be deleted as well. Quit Safari, open a Finder window click on Go on the menu bar, hold down the option key (or alt if you're using a Windows keyboard, and click on Library. You may want to backup your bookmarks first; if so, open the Safari folder and copy bookmarks.plist somewhere you can find it. Then delete the Safari folder and relaunch Safari. If this doesn't fix it, something deep in your system files is screwed up.

Avernum 1 Hit To Chance Question
Tyranicus replied to Incantator's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Piercing crystals and dispel barrier scrolls cast the spell at level 2. Some barriers can be broken only by level 3 dispel barrier. -
Precisely. When copying reviews from the Lyceum to SV, we made the decision not to include reviews that had no substance or were obviously attacks. When copying them from SV to their current home on SW, I weeded out a few more of them that had somehow made the cut the first time.

Need help! Can I Transfer games to another computer?!

There is no save slot system for Nethergate. You can create as many save files as you want. If you click Save Game, it automatically updates the save file you loaded. If you click Save Game As instead, you can choose to make a new one.

To which I again reference Blades of Avernum. The issue is not just new franchises but new titles in those franchises. There is more risk, although probably less than with a whole new franchise. To be fair, Blades of Avernum was kind of half remake, half new game in the same franchise.

Need help! Can I Transfer games to another computer?!
Tyranicus replied to SpiderBalls's topic in General
I have yet to see a laptop that does not. -
Yeah, for some reason that alias broke, even though the one for Exile 1 did not. You can find the actual character editor, but right-clicking the Exile 2 app, and selecting show package contents.
-
For what it's worth, if you don't want to deal with the hassle of installing the games, I've made Mac apps of the Exile and Avernum trilogies using Wineskin. You can download them here.

Other people have written Avernum fan fiction before. It should be fine.

Healthcare: Yes. Education: Yes. Internet: Yes. Reproduction: Yes. Torture: Never. Euthanasia: Yes, under any circumstance. Death penalty: Never. Abortion: On request. Rights: Birth. Nuclear Weapons: Yes, but only in extenuating circumstances, like preventing even more destruction.

To get the full story, you have to play the game as both.

For some reason, Cincinnatus is held up as exceptional for this, when it was standard Roman policy. He was neither the first nor the last man appointed dictator of Rome (which was an actual job title) who stepped down after serving his term.

You do realize this actually answers one of the questions, right?
