  1. Jeff made quite a few significant changes to the way stats are allocated in his most recent two titles, so I suspect that he will continue to improve. I agree that character building is probably the worst aspect of his games, though. The important question is whether or not he would attract more customers with something as magnificent as the D&D engines for this sort of thing.
  2. How is anyone supposed to answer these questions accurately? Maybe that isn't the point, but even if people could look at themselves objectively enough to answer these somewhat accurately, they're still going to tend to mitigate anything negative.
  3. I don't get how you can "fail" an interview. It seems like a pretty shallow process for determining whether or not someone is worth hiring.
  4. I had already downloaded Battle for Gale from the ratings page, and I noticed that there's a bug at the beginning that makes the scenario unplayable. Also, I'll just go ahead and nominate Playground for the Pyromaniac for having the most appropriate title in all of Blades. Very cool.

Dikiyoba. A few people out of three hundred million go on a random killing spree and it's society's fault. Even shouldering that blame, society would have a pretty phenomenal track record. In light of this data, I'm going to go ahead and blame the guy who killed a bunch of random people in an unprovoked massacre, and give a pass to everyone who didn't go out of their way to ensure his happiness.
  6. This is a solo operation, so any DLC he makes would be time not spent working on the next game. That said, I would pay a lot of money for several upgrades and fixes to Blades of Avernum.
  7. jetguitarist89@aol.com (I fear no spam) windows I currently have nothing going on in my life, so I have loads of time to devote to nitpicking your scenario.
  8. I think the only preventable factor in this scenario was his birth. Normal people don't react to negative factors in their life by turning into sociopaths and then massacring people at an event that would specifically generate the most media attention. I don't have any issues if the medical community thinks they can learn something valuable from him, but the only thing that should be reported to the general public is the research that comes out of it. Giving this man a podium validates everything he did, which is a poor message to send to others who might be willing to do something similar.

I don't see why anyone should care what he has to say.
  10. He just wants attention. Instead of giving it to him in the form of a massively publicized trial and angry internet discussions, let's focus on the people who matter: the victims and their families. The only thing the shooter needs a quiet execution in the back of a prison.

  12. I grew up on the old school Exile graphics. Exile 1 & 2 don't look right without them.
  13. I heard that killing a man and eating his heart grants a permanent +1 bonus to strength. Baring that, you can try doing knee pushups. Here's a good video on pushup basics: The guy isn't wearing a shirt, so it may or may not be SFW.
  14. I wonder if allowing impoverished/poor people to see the doctor regularly would help prevent them from flooding 911 systems and emergency departments with non-emergent issues. Do you guys living in countries with socialized medicine know anything about the state of your hospitals and emergency services?
  15. I'm still mad that they stole the whole RPG thing from him.

That said, KotOR is my favorite Xbox title.
  17. I'm surprised at the lack of love for Avadon.
  18. I tried doing this routine along with regular weight lifting. I saw some small improvements, but I wasn't making much progress without diet control. Simple workouts like these are effective if you aren't used to exercising, but, unless you're blessed with a body that easily builds muscle, there are other essential factors to physical fitness than simply moving your muscles until they hurt. If you're going to do this routine, I'd recommend supplementing your diet with some whey powder protein. Just get in the habit of drinking it after working out and mixing a scoop or two in with other meals throughout the day. Another thing to consider with the push-up is that there are a lot of varieties to the exercise that emphasize different muscle groups and lessen or increase the resistance you're pushing against. If you're struggling to complete your workout, instead of giving up, try widening your arms or dropping to your knees. You can also mix up the routine by widening or narrowing your hands. Also, form is everything. Slow and steady with equal breaths with fewer reps is much better than a bunch of rapid reps while holding your breath. I know no one asked for advice, but here it is.

  20. The .bas file name had absolutely nothing to do with my scenario, so seeing it quickly dismissed because of something I invested zero time or thought in was incredibly off-putting. I guess it was in bad taste and that my response and passive aggressive reaction were inappropriate, but I was pretty riled up about it at the time. I appreciate that you all have been cool about this.
  21. Too long. Blades of Avernum kept me around, but it's on its last spindly legs.
