  1. Let's say, hypothetically, that we find an asteroid with deposits of platinum and gold that far exceed what we have on Earth, and have the capability to drag it all back down to the surface. What would that do to the world's economy?
  2. For what it's worth, I would be interested to see the result. It's kind of sad, but Blades is dead. Everyone is gone and there aren't any youngins to take up the mantle.
  3. I would have enjoyed Fallout more if the inventory management wasn't such a pain and I hadn't felt the compulsive need to pick up and sell every single piece of garbage I came across.
  4. I have a feeling that these events would become a lot less common if we stopped sensationalizing them and putting the killer in the spotlight. How he killed his victims isn't relevant; guns didn't drive him to do what he did. They are an effective tool, but there are plenty of others.
  5. TTG's The Walking Dead really sticks with you.

  6. Long time on guitar. Currently dabbling in flamenco.
  7. While I am incredibly happy that Obama won, my state is still largely in the hands of the GOP. I am not looking forward to the next few years.
  8. What's so great about the popular vote and why is it always heralded as a magical cure to democracy whenever someone brings up the problems with the electoral college? It doesn't sound like it would change much other than give people more incentive to vote in uncontested states.
  9. Only one group of kids visited my house so now I've got this big bowl full of candy taunting me while I'm trying to manage my diet. I don't want to eat it, but it's going to wind up in my gullet sooner or later. clever girl
  10. Aside from the mountains, which are getting a healthy dusting of snow, NC isn't getting much more than a bit of nasty rain. I'm honestly disappointed, considering how much everyone was building up this storm.
  11. It's deceptively time consuming. You can spend hours working on a single piece of dialogue, for instance, and wind up completely rewritting it.
  12. Article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19852721 Any Canadians here want to share what you think about your Supreme Court's recent decision to ease the HIV disclosure law? I'm just trying to wrap my head around what "realistic possibility" of transmission specifically means and how a layman is supposed to gauge just how communicable their virus is. The risk of transmission with a low viral load and a condom is apparently "negligible", but what if the condom breaks? Are viral loads subject to change day to day or even hour to hour? What about if the carrier's virus grows resistant to the medication; will the virus then become more communicable and will the carrier know in time to warn their partner? Regardless of whether or not those potential factors are legitimate, it just seems to me like this change strips the right of healthy people to make an informed decision about their own health and safety. I'm honestly surprised with the court's decision.
  13. The card game based on the series is pretty damn good.
  14. My favorite part is drawing the goofy splash screens I stick in my scenarios. I've got tons of these I never wound up using because I run completely on inspiration and can't force myself to write dialogue or design a town save when I'm in a rare productive spell. In case anyone wants to take a look at a few of my favorites: Click to reveal.. The other issue I run into is that I'll get stuck on a section of dialogue or town design until I'm satisfied that everything is perfect and consistent with the rest of the scenario. Personally, this would make it really hard to work with someone else, even if we split the scenario into sections. I guess my point is that I don't favor any single aspect of scenario design enough to focus on it completely because I focus most of my attention on the big picture. I enjoy working on every component as long as I feel like I'm moving in the right direction.
  15. There's going to be hell to pay for those unicorns. They're not supposed to be in Geneforge, but there they are in the field grazing that grass like they own the place.

If earth-like conditions are a prerequisite to life, shouldn't it follow similar patterns like everything else in the universe, or am I just completely off-base?
  17. El Presidente was a joint effort, wasn't it?
  18. Considering recent events, I feel it would be safest if we nuked the national parks to eliminate the bear threat.
  19. 1. AOL had a kids section way back in the day with a bunch of shareware and freeware downloads. Among other things, I stumbled onto Exile 1 and 2 there, which quickly became my favorites. 2. No. None of my friends have ever been gamers.

But more seriously, I can attest that the death-evasion bonus maxes out (either at 80% or 95%, memory's a bit foggy on which) in A3/BoA. I thought it was 40%. I'm not sure where I picked that information up, though.
