Seasoned Roamer Duality
Is there any place to store items in A4? I'm tired of carrying around all these stupid forgeing items (and herbs), since my mage is over her weight limit, and it's making me mad.
Well-Actually War Trall Synergy
Anywhere you drop a pile of goods, it will stay there waiting for you to pick it all up later. There is a limit of what...forty or sixty-something(?) items you can leave out in one place though before some start disappearing. Good places to leave piles of loot are in the road where you will hit it on your way back to, say, Fort Monastery, or in front of a city gate. For reasons you may or may not understand yet, leaving a pile of loot in front of a city pylon is not a bad idea either.
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
I just put it in Fort Avernum by the teleporter, probably the most central location in the game.
Seasoned Roamer Duality
Ah, good point, I had seen stuff occasionally dissapear, so I was afraid to drop anything I needed. Fort Avernum's a good place though.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Thre are a number of places with handy containers, Fort Monastery among them. I like to keep my crafting and alchemy ingredients separate from the random knick-knacks that I collect, and I also have a separate location for quest items that need to be stockpiled. Containers are useful for all of these things. —Alorael, who just wishes that dropping five Healing Herbs into a box that contains a stack of 35 Healing Herbs would result in a stack of 40 instead of two separate stacks. Seasoned Roamer ArsonPerBuilding
Do containers not lose items over time?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
No. Towns might lose items if there are too many in one screen, but I've filled Fort Monastery with large amounts of junk and never had any of it disappear. —Alorael, who believes he managed to get up to six "pages" of container space filled by the end of A4. Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
Containers follow the same rules as leaving stuff on the ground, as far as I know.
Garrulous Glaahk the horned slayer
i really wish you have a locker or something or something to store items in every town...

Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Does anyone else lay out the supplies they've carefully hoarded in organized piles spread out over the ground? Dikiyoba is glad that none of the NPCs are thieving magpies.
Seasoned Roamer Duality
No, I store each different type in a different box. Why do people insist on refering to themselves in the third person? It's somewhat.... bizarre.

Rotghroth Rhapsody txmimi
Where do you get boxes or containers for your stuff?
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Wow, blast from the past. You store items in regular useable containers or chests. Just search them the way you normally do, but when it brings up the inventory screen you move items into the container instead of out of it. Find one that's easy for you to access, by a pylon or town entrance or whatever you like best. Yup, Dikiyoba still talks in third person.
Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
Do you mean to get for yourself? Sorry. As awesome as that would be, You have to use ones already there. No buying and placing them. I am sure you have already crossed by atleast one... If that is not what you mean, I apologize. Thats how it sounds to me. Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
Oh? I use holes in the ground for my equipment.. I paint over them with red X's. I don't see how they keep getting stolen though...
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
MMXPERT, Trenton, would the two of you please stop making so many pointless, spammy posts? It confuses people who need help and is just generally annoying. Dikiyoba is leaving this thread unlocked in case txmimi still needs more help. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
sadly there are no backpacks in Avernums like for example Ultimas had so if you want to store stuffs somewhere then you need to put them on ground preferably near pylon or at Portal Keep although far from portal itself and separate piles so item(s) needed can be found quickly. Ineffable Wingbolt MMXPERT-seraph of thermodynamics
ok spammy, but pointless? I really do use tables whenever I store items somewhere, they simply seam appealing to me.

Er, unless I'm missing something, or horribly misremembering, you can't store items on tables in any SW since, oh, BoE (maybe Nethergate). Dropped items just scatter down around whoever drops them. (I think it was possible to put things into containers, like chests, by searching them and putting items inside that way, but since tables aren't containers that wouldn't work.)
