  1. How much first aid is adequate for a 4 player party? Is this skill even useful?
  2. I've been reading The Canterbury Tales as of recently. About halfway through the Knight's tale. I love Chaucer's satirical humor, and the descriptions he gives for each individual of the pilgrimage. It really tells you a lot about medieval society. ~RainbowDashRadical
  3. Looked at the Avadon 2 page, comes out on October 30th for windows and mac. 20 days and counting . ~RainbowDashRadical P.S. I have never played Avadon series, but may give it a try. I'll wait for this to come out and determine whether or not I should play Avadon 1 first or this new one. From what I have read, I am not sure I'll like the first one.
  4. I never even knew that combo existed. Thanks for teaching me a quicker way to open the task manager :-)
  5. Feeding Control 4 is only nessecary if you wish to join the obeyers. Otherwise you kill him if you want to join the Awakened. However, you can join the obeyers without feeding him as well. If you had killed Control 4 to join awakened, you can ask Rydell to join, he sends you to kill Gnorrel. The other option is to have 12 leadership and you can talk you way into any Sect. ~RainbowDashRadical
  6. Indeed there is. Check out the official Spiderweb Online Store. All 5 Geneforge games are available as one Bundle for 30 USD. Having a CD costs a bit extra but not too bad. Here's the link: http://www.spiderweb...Geneforge_Games The Bundle option is the first one listed, titled, "The Geneforge Saga."
  7. Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention. Be careful about joining a Sect too soon. Joining one sect may make certain merchants unavailable to you. So make sure you've take all the cash you can before joining a Sect.
  8. I've noticied it too everytime I start up a new G1 game. Honestly, I could never explain it :-/. It always happens after you've explored the surrounding areas around Vakkiri. However, merchants are only useful in the ways of collecting money. Sell all the junk you found across the island, and drain them dry of cash. Soon you will need this money to buy skills from trainers. In Geneforge 1, there are 3 trainers. They'll give you skill points for cash. Saves you from using actual skill points in the 3 "General Skills: Leadership, Mechanics, and Luck. Get enough money, you can buy Luck all the way to level 30 . Hope the advice helps ~RainbowDashRadical
  9. I see myself as a Vlish. I am not strong physically., but I am smart. Thus I try to organize and plan to the best of my ability. I use my smarts to get out of sticky situations .
  10. Have you tried to make Clawbugs early on? They prove very effective in early game, and can even carry you through midway until you get those more powerful creations. Another good early creation in G5 could be the Vlish, but they are frail. You may want to have Clawbugs as a supporting tank, and the Vlish could be used to weaken your foes with their curse ability. It is a possible strategy wondering the Mera-Tev area.
  11. Nice job with the voices Chessrook, and good start to your 2nd LP. I thought I may share with you how I allocated my skill points at the start. Since I am a missile Guardian, right away I put all my skill points into Missile weapons. Missile weapons are at level 8 as of now. The rest were put into Mechanics and Leadership. I am level 3 right now, and have Leadership at 5, and Mechanics at 8. When I reach level 4, I'll probably raise Mechanics and Leadership both once more. After that I'll leave it alone. There are TONS of items and things that boost these later . If you play it right you can get a +7 boost to Mechanics with items and books alone. I boost them early so it gives me more exp. in the beginning, also makes your life easier. These boosts don't come til a little bit later. Oh, and I gave my Guardian a cool name! Kor! (yeah its a bit of an exaggeration Lol). Also, I would like to comment on your explanation of the Shapers and the game. Indeed, the Shapers have a good reasons to keep their powers and abilities secret from those who would misuse it. There are reasons they need to have total control over everything they make and do. Chaos will spread if something goes wrong, or if their powers get into the wrong hands. (and indeed "something" does go wrong, but I'll keep quite about that ). I do like the Shapers, but at the same time I don't. I feel that the shapers are "too" protective over their powers and abilities. I believe that they are a bit arrogant, greedy, and fanatical at times. Though they are known to keep prosperity, they have their flaws (as you said). Also, the way they treat the serviles, at least in my opinion could be improved. Indeed, I feel the serviles are like slaves, brainwashed to obey them in every way, given no freewill. Given no intelligence! Then again, almost all what the Shapers create are given no intelligence whatsoever (other than Servant Minds). But I suppose its for a good reason. What you create should not be allowed to turn on your and stab you on back! But that does not justify treating them as slaves, and brainwash them into no freewill. In a way, I appreciate the Awakened philosophy. But at the same hand, its almost an impossible feat! Everyone knows full well, the Shapers would never accept themselves equal to Serviles, their creations. They are the Creator, and the "creation" is never equal to that of the "Creator." So sadly, its a dream that will never come true. All in all, of the difference factions, the Shapers/Loyalist win. The Takers, they're too insane in the membrane. They would do anything to destroy the shapers, including genocide and death. So yeah, that's just plain out insanity. Anyway, before I go spoiling everything! I'll stop my comments right here . I mustn't say no more! Just to sum it up: I like the Shapers more than the other Factions in Geneforge series mainly because they keep prosperity, and keep bad things from happening. Yes, they are a little arrogant, and yes they may even abuse their power at times, but they at least keep disasters from happening. Which is good. The other factions have either destructive or mad thoughts and allow disasters to happen, and in no way have common sense on how to use this awesome ability to create life. And the awakened dream for the impossible...So yeah, Shapers are really the only faction I can agree with. Keep up the good work Chessrook, I look forward to your next videos. By the way, are you going to have different pets than you did in the last LP? Or will it the same Fyora and Artila combo? ~RainbowDashRadical
  12. I should also mention podlings should be added. And would the Unbound One count as a mainstream creation or no?
  13. Awesome! Now I can start my G2 playthrough. I will be following along...I expect this G2 playthrough to be the longest I've ever played considering how often you update your post . But that's fine. I like your pace, it adds suspense. I'll be playing as a Missle Guardian who will summon up creations for aid. And will try not to use magic (though I cannot promise that)
  14. I am surprised you did not use the Geneforge. Throughout the entire playthrough I'd thought you'd stick with the Awakened plea and use the Geneforge to protect them. Lol . Anyway, your playthrough of G1 has been fabulous. I am eager for your G2 updates. Also, how far along are you in G2 in real-life? You mentioned you had already start recording for it. I am thinking about starting up a game now, and want to try and stay at your pace if possible. I hope together our G2 adventures go swell . ~RainbowDashRadical
  15. Wait, what do you mean? Those items on the ground are canisters? I don't get it.
  16. Alright I am finished with the game. There is not much left for me to do. I killed Goetsch, done the Shaper Crypt, finished other pointless areas. So I headed to the East Docks and finished the game. Easily killing the three Augmented Sholai. Oh and I cleared eastern docks Solo btw No Drayks helping me So here are my end-game stats for the curious: Agent - Level 22 Str - 10 Dex - 11 Int- 18 End - 15 Melee - 7 Missle - 4 QA - 8 Anatomy - 3 battle magic - 10 Mental Magic - 10 Blessing Magic - 7 Spellcraft - 10 Fire Shapin - 4 Battle Shaping - 3 Magic Shaping - 3 Healing Craft - 6 Leadership - 8 Mechanics- 14 Luck - 30 And my abilities/creations were also crazy powerful. I gathered every canister/tome in the game. These are my conlusions for G1, as it will be a long time before I do another playthrough (played it at least a dozen times): I feel near end-game almost every build is extremely over-powered. Why? Well observe! There are so many canisters and skill points available in this game its nuts. Not to mention items, and the fact you can purchases three skills. I don't think the other Geneforge games allow you to actually use coins to by points in a skill. Take a look at my Agent's statistics. Obviously, they are not raw power from my obtained skill points. They were aquired through canisters, tomes, and items I gathered on Sucia Isle. Insanely overpowered. With 600 essence pool, my Agent could easily cast up 5 Drayks. Yes they are weaker than a Shapers, but they still do 100 damage with their biting tactic. I did not however, grab a 3rd Drayk canister, so I didn't test out CyroDrayks, though I'm sure they are just as powerful, if not more. And as Randomizer said, she can augement these creations. And has the ability kill things on her own. Or maybe even cast the occasional dominate. With the Agent being able to do everything (Combat, Shaping, and Magic), the possibilities are endless. Infinite strategy options! But in any case, though the Agent is powerful, practically every build is powerful if you set it up right. This is for all geneforge games. However, out of the three class choices in G1, I would have to agree to myself that the Agent "feels" much more powerful than the other 2. Doesn't mean she is superior, its just that it "feels" that way. I don't know why it feels that way. But it just does... It almost feels like a shaper, but able to cast insanely powerful spells. I can go Solo when I feel like, too. Agent Flaws: there is one flaw with the Agent. But it is tiny in prospective. Creations that the Agent makes tend to die very often in torment. Things hit hard, and Drayks themselves have not even 300 health. If you are swarmed by a bunch of Drayks and Battle Beta, expect half of your Drayk army to die. And if you use a weaker creation (like Vlish), expect all of them to die by the time the battle is over. Of course as long as "you" survive, you still win . ~RainbowDashRadical
  17. Yep, if you turn in anyone into Captain Kane in Rivergate Keep, upon leaving Rivergate, Khur will try to kill you, and gets thorns fired at him by the Rivergate guards, ultimately dying. That is if Khur is around when you do so.
  18. There is another way to get a Guardian Claymore. if you gather 50 rough crystals in the mines, you can forge it in the processing room in North Mines. Pretty Awesome, but time consuming. There are enough crystals, and I believe its worth it, even though tedious . I take it all back, you get a Shaped Blade from the machine, not a Guardian Claymore. My bad... I am eager to see how you will end the story Chessrook ~RainbowDashRadical
  19. Hi guys, thanks for all the responses. I would like to give a breif update on my Agent. I have been traveling around to other places. Since by killing Trajkov I pissed off all the Sholai and the Takers. So I razed Kazg to the ground, and even tried my luck on the Bridges. Both bridges did require some amounts of Reloads, however it payed of in the end. That Augmented Sholai gave 65 exp! I would say by far he is the most dangerous hostile character in the game. Alongside Trajokov and Goetsch I should say. I also grabbed the Control Rod and destroyed the Geneforge. That gave me an instant 2 levels believe it or not . Used the skill points to increase End. I suppose I could've spent more on Int. It'd allow me to make a few more creations. Speaking of creations...this gets me to another point. I joined the Obeyors and obtained my point in Fire Shaping, used the Shaper Robe, and 2 extra points from the Sealed Labs and Tombs. So I have a skill level of 4 in Fire Shaping. Well, what amazes me, is that my Agent can make 3 Drayks . 3 drayks and still have ~100 essence left over! For me, I think its disgustingly over-powered For a build that is not supposed to shape well, this astonishing. By a long run, my Agent is very powerful. Not only can she cast power magic spells, do decent combat, but she can Shape! The Shaper himself could summon around 5 Drayks near end-game. How the heck can my Agent get 3! I'm even more deadly when everything is sped up. Oh and I should mention I'm only level 18. My current Essence is: 357. HP: 200 Anyway, my next experiment is to go through the Shaper Crypt and see how it goes. And I hope you playthrough goes well whoever you are with the symbol in your name. Please let me know how it goes. ~RainbowDashRadical
  20. I would've never know Vanishinn dropped a Shining Shield. The +2 to Leadership looks awesome. Too bad its only available in end-game. ~RainbowDashRadical
  21. I believe one of them is dropped near Drayk's Vale, the other one is somewhere in the wastes
