I am more a waffle fan. But pancakes are just as good. I always put butter on them. I'm everything butter, well because butter is good. :-). No seriously, I love butter.

Have I messed up my skill points in AV6?
RainbowDashRadical replied to carpii's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
What was your party build? And what did you do with all those skill points when you needed to starting using them? -
It is sorta funny actually. Because I am thinking about owning a turtle in the near future. Let us hope I may retain my sanity when I do decide to get one, ~RainbowDashRadical

Geneforge 3 Let's Play!
RainbowDashRadical replied to Chessrook44's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
Chessrook, I just wanted to let you know I am still watching your Let's Plays, and am enjoying them very much. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Also, I finally made a Youtube channel (probably won't use it much though Lol), and I made you one of my first subscribers. Keep it up! ~RainbowDashRadical -

It does? Wonder why I never noticed. What is it? -
A3 - Encumbrance
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I'm not sure on all the other stuff, but I do know AP penalty. AP penalty means when you are carrying more than your weight, you are losing Action Points, meaning you move slower, and might now be able to make a move depending on how big the penalty. ~RainbowDashRadical -
A lot of times I rarely finish a spiderweb games. Only the first time around will I really make 100% completion. His games are so long, it really does take patience t o finish. By 70-80% through I usually move onto to something else. Sorry if that hurts your feeLings Jeff, though it probably doesn't.

Excess Money
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I suppose using the character editor for money would save time. But I found more joy and have a greater feeling of accomplishment when my adventures "earn" their money. I try to avoid the character editor if at all possible. That's not to say I didn't use it to reset boats a few times. Cant tell you how many times I left my boat on the southern part of slith lands and I was in the eastern cave. Or just plain out forgot where my boat was. Very useful feature. One that the avernum remake really lacks. -
Genforge 4 Let's Play!
RainbowDashRadical replied to Aramazon's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
Before there were hardly no lets plays for the series. The ones that were existing weren't really good and incomplete. Now in the last year there's been a lot coming in. I'm happy to see Geneforge recieving more media attention. Keep it up everyone who is doing the let's play. Thanks. ~RainbowDashRadical -
Mr Webster says: Definition of Koan: a paradox to be meditated upon that is used to train Zen Buddhist monks to abandon ultimate dependence on reason and to force them into gaining sudden intuitive enlightenment

Actually, I would not want to try that out. Not in the first 10 minutes of the game anyway. Near the end...perhaps. Depends what ending I'm going for, and how I feel.

Traits
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
By own experience, most of the traits in first avernum trilogy don't give such advantages as they do in the later games. Few are good, but most I think are just plain bad. I'll go ahead and list what traits I think are worthwhile in getting. But this is only opinion! Just so no one misinterprets anything. Natural Mage - Important for all mages. Elite Warrior - Good for your front-line fighters, and maybe your priest if he does any fighting. Fast on Feet - My personal favorite. I've found that the extra attack comes more often than I thought. Very useful for warriors and archers alike. Toughness - This is OK. I usually choose this one if I can't decide what to really choose. Strong Will - good for your priest, though I am unsure on its effectiveness. The others I usually just ignore. Hope this is useful. ~RainbowDashRadical -
A2 - CLEARED!!!
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Congratz on finishing your playthrough. I just finished A1 now, and am moving to A2. Hope to have as much fun as I did with A1 . Btw, could you explain any differences you saw in A1 and A2? Without spoilers of course. ~RainbowDashRadical -
Could you tell me which PC this is, and how to do it please. I'd love to try that out!

One outside merchant sells a blessed crossbow, too. Though I had already grabbed mine from the Crypt by then -
A2-A3 - Summoning Costs?
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Yes, it is freeware. Its only possible to run on 32 bit machines now. 64 bit, they won't run. -
Loading...?
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I think it might be the old engine. Usually when you got a lot of action going on in combat (e.g. many PCs/Monsters fighting it out), it takes some time to load, and process all of those commands. I don't see a good way around it. You could try to avoid fights with many monsters at one sitting (if that's even possible, some areas are swarmed). Another thing, you could try avoid using summon aid which brings out lots of other npc. -
Excess Money
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I am actually wondering how do you gets lots of money in this game, besides collecting items off corpses, and quests. I could see farming herbs for potions being a good way, but it seems like a slow way to make money. Is there any faster ways? ~RainbowDashRadical -
Geneforge 5 - Strategy Central
RainbowDashRadical replied to *i's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
Looking at the replies to this thread, I guess apparently there was a Study of Magic creations as well, which was not posted in the Strategy central. Ackrovan posted the link to the thread, but it seems dead. So I am re posting it. Here it is: http://spiderwebforums.ipbhost.com/index.php?/topic/12398-an-archonic-study-of-magic-creations/page__hl__%2Bstudy+%2Bmagic+%2Bcreations -
Excess Money
RainbowDashRadical replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I am currently playing A1 now. And I can confirm that Silverlocke does exist. I just recently spent 9000 gold buying here knowledge brews. She's near Blosk on a big hill. Sadly, I probably won't be buying her stock to regenerate them. Apparently it was more money that I thought Lol. -
A:EftP - Junk items
RainbowDashRadical replied to dave s's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2011-2018 Remastered Versions)
In a war-torn land of harshness, poverty, chaos, despair, and starvation...one would expect there to be a lot of trash. -
237 hours is a long time for any spiderweb games. Would you mind if I asked what you were doing during those hours?
