  1. I just want to know what has made everyone quiet as of late. It hasnt been this quiet in a while.
  2. Yeah I know what you mean. Im here with Jerry right now.
  3. What happened to the forums Kris Kringle? Are they dead. Did emperor Hawthorn have something to do with it? Did the forums get a lobotomy? I'd really like to know because at this moment I am starting a new party in Avernum, haha
  4. I always thought that Mercutio was the most active member.
  5. There was a blue-robed child that attacked my party when I got up stairs with spells. How can you deny this?
  6. Well Im surprised that not many of you agree with my comparison. It makes so much sense to me. But still I will say this-There are many other instances where you can draw comparisons in games. Hawthorn was a mage, and a derelict, and likely had his vices. That much is known. But there are some things that are just so clear its not even funny. Take Avernum 5 for example. There was a character named: Hrickis, who was a sorcerer, a pedophile and an evil person. You not only find him out, but when you expose him in his lair, there are children hiding in one of the rooms. There's got to be one person that remembers that part in that game. Thats an even better comparison than Hawthorn.

  8. I find that there are very large similarities between 2 naturally evil people. One of them is real, the other is fantasy. The first one is Emperor Hawthorn from Avernum 1. He is a naturally devious person who controls an empire like a perfect puppet master would. He is like the other person, useless in a fight and gets by alone through equipment and support from others who wants to cover up his wrongs. The second one is real, and like the first one, he is the epitome of evil. He was a coach in Penn state and like the first, had his vices. He like Hawthorn had no skills and was essentially useless in a fight. He instead allowed his followers to cover up his wrongs. Its almost too convenient that a comparison like this exists.

  10. I did something very stupid. I just couldn't stand that Litalia insulted my guardian and ran away so I changed the scripts a bit. I really didn't want to wait until later to remove her, so I made her vulnerable when in the script where she is talking. While normally she would have the text read from jeff, I instead proceeded to backstab the creatures that are there. The problem is that didn't work. After 5 seconds they all ran away and the game crashed. Will I still be able to play the game?

Doubt thats a problem, I never had it to begin with.

  13. Strategy Central is misleading. Shaman has 5 points into Spirit Claw with 3 specializes into battle. Raise the skill to 10 points will get me an extra 8 levels of damage for both or no?

Oh and raise endurance to about 8 or 9, but dont forget parry.
  15. My favorite game and series is avadon. Its casual and the only game series of jeff's I can play, enjoy and make it to the end. Ive played numerous other games of jeff's and what happens is I usually reach a dead end with all of jeff's other games. I like avadon because its simplistic, has a great story, and reminds me of d and d.

Wow, I'm having a blast in the tower of magi after playing 8 hours on my singleton. The tactics used as a singleton require a whole new set of tricks, i might have to play the avernum series this way all the time!
  17. How do I solo this game if its at all possible on normal difficulty? Is it daze and dualwielding or does haste make up more of the repertoire with melee weapons?
  18. Is there a point in getting your spells to 3rd level? I have some healing spells at lvl 2 and it just gives a 10% bonus to it which isnt much. Im wondering if there's a real bonus to them that is substantial instead of just minor. There's got to be a list where the good bonuses are listed.
  19. I need some advice on my dualwielder tank. I have yet to put a point into dual wielding skill as it seems inferior to blademaster and the traits you get. I already got 12 hardiness and 12 melee weapons but no blademaster. I want to put some points into blademaster. Should i forget about dualwielding skill as i already have both the traits for it and put my points into blademaster?
  20. What a stupid question but well, is each ending a separate storyline for the game meaning that 40 hours for killing the emperor, 40 for surviving, etc. I want to just complete the revenge story but will i have to spend another long time to complete the rest.
  21. Im in the undead area and am a little bored with the enemies. Is all you fight in avernum remake just monsters, i thought that humans/slith were the main bad guys? Maybe I'm just too used to avadon where its the other way. I can't stand undead!
  22. I want to play as a female servile that gets a sex change, and due to that, can only use her left arm when wielding her baton. It will be kind of like onehanded trait for fallout 1,2 and tactics.
  23. Ive maximized playing these games and now im going to play avernum6 again, but differently. Im going to make a party in avernum 6 that can effectively stun tough guys, slowing them down. Ive never understood how stun exactly works other than the manual saying that they lose 1 ap for each level of stun. So like, how do you maximize that in avernum 6? I thought ahead that the stun blade might be useful but i dont know as ive never used it past act2 of the games Im just looking for something along the lines of the vlish in geneforge 1-3, or the glahk in all geneforges. Stun was so useful in those games its not even funny. Is stun broken in these games other than avernum 4, because it might seem like it is. Ah jeez, hawthorne's calling me, Ill be back after i beat him in checkers.
