Some fool ive been talking with about avernum asked me what the 2nd trilogy was like. He didnt like the original trilogy and was more into avadon. I told him that the 2nd trilogy was kind of like geneforge series. He thought that was cool but asked me the MOST dumb question. He wanted to know which of the second trilogy games was the least long. Ive been trying to explain that jeff doesnt make short games and if he does then avadon is more to your liking. He told me that he doesnt care as he already played avadon and beat it. I know this is pretty stupid but which of the 2nd trilogy 4-6 is the shortest.

Somewhat good news, in geneforge 4, Dillame and Southforge citadel and im pretty sure all other weapon shops carry javelins which do more damage than the basic thorn baton. Im going to just guess and say that regular thorns will be plentiful later, but due to this knowledge, i have almost no reason to require them now.

Im looking for thorns in geneforge 4. Im almost out for my regular baton, are there venom batons anywhere after shaila's lab? I wish that the regular baton had an unlimited supply just for in case your in a jam like bows in avernum4-6. edit-almost forgot, i read that you might be able to make them if you find a thorns bush, is that true?

Yeah thats messed up hearing that and ive heard that a few times in highschool as well. But you get the last laugh when you get older and they all have some sort of disease and your like-Oh..guess i got my christmas present early. Thats usually always how it is. When my dad got hit by some bully, he told me he didnt hit em back. But when he got older, he chased him out of a store. Its just how it is, karma.

Oh, im definitely fighting creatures above my level then. Im level 3 and im fighting nepharim. I know that strength affects hit chance with melee but i still add to dex for my rogue with some in strength too. So i guess being a higher level than the monsters affects them negatively too?

I dont know what to say. I can hit some creatures 80% and they can hit me 50% of the time. Then there are creatures not much different that can hit me 93% of the Time! with me having a chance to hit of 45%. Is there some sort of bonus/con to fighting creatures above or below your level? This doesnt make sense as how can a creature have a 93% chance to hit me when i have a char maxed on dex.

Thanks for the tips, so far im narrowing it down to 1 mac. It sounds like a stupid idea i know, but its kind of like the epic gift since last year they gave me an empowering gift. So i kind of have to do the same. The only problem is im not sure what is more important with regards to specs. The mac i am thinking on is cheaper, has 1.5 gigs of ram which is a check, 10.5 operating system, check, the only problem is it has 1.35 gigahertz. Will the .25 gigahertz difference from the recommended hurt the gameplay of the game. Ive heard that usually a computer is safe if it has almost 2 gigs of ram, but frankly i dont know what is more important. Im sorry for the stupid questions, but i really want to make this work.Thanks in advance. Mac Laptop

So will the game run moderately ok with the powerpc?

When you say your fan will kick on, is that with all macs? How does that work. Im sorry if this is a dumb question but im a pc man.

Im in a similar debacle. I found this Mac I can afford this christmas for a friend. He doesnt know why im buying it for him, the real reason is because he always said he wanted to play avernum if it was remade. That was about a year ago, so i think that he doesnt know. Here is the Mac Apple i am planning on buying for him. It seems to have all the requirements-operating system, mb ram, the only one a little low is megahertz. The guy at the apple store said that macs arent as rigid as pcs when it comes to game requirements. Is that true and will i be alright with this mac? Anyone that has a mac, this would be very helpful to me.

I remember the good old days of avernum 1-3 (and boa) where i would base one character in my party on what i like to call-"Bullying", the character barely puts any points into melee as much as much as he or she places points into assassination skill. I dont know what it was that was so fun, but it was hilarious to have that character deal damage on par or almost more than my brute fighter. The best was when the monk type character in Ephesos's siege of copperpeak mod, was assassinated by my bully while the rest of my party do less damage. It was a shame that assassination not only wasnt in a4-6 but lethal blow was impossible to get. Will the new game offer a skill like assassination that is able to train and isnt impossible to get by high level?

Jeff is very busy as of late, Trajkov has burst into his laboratory and killed all his shaper apprentices without hesitation. Because of that, he has had to enlist the aid of the Rat King and judging by his survival rate, its not going good. Prally another 2 weeks.

Really? I heard that the curse allows you to become jeff vogel. Every midgit or person under 5 feet tall turns to stone, every gypsy gets skinned and every purple flower turns black, heh.

Im not sure what to think of this remake. I like the geneforge series and avadon is awesome too. I never could get into any avernum 1-3 or 4-6 mostly because the tactics/strategies were imo much more diverse in avadon. I still like the story though from the original avernums and the music is epic.
