  1. I'd been dreaming of a compiler which does stuff like, if you say "Make me a game which is an RPG, takes up several gigs of space, has a fantastic storyline, has awesome graphics and audio effects, has an old-school stats-based character building system etc" and it actually does that. I just wish things worked that way now and not many decades after.
  2. There was no reason for the shapers to stick together until the rebellion posed a challenge to their rule. So in the pre-rebellion days the Shapers were a lot more self-serving (even Rawal-like, considering the un-controlled research on Sucia island) as they only had themselves and their standing within the Shaper community to think about. And insert the survival-of-the-fittest concept somewhere within this paragraph. It was the rebellion slapping them in the face that brought about all the team spirit, and quite possibly it was only then that even the Shaper Council became a lot more important.
  3. The milestone threads are okay, it's thinking up witty replies to them that's taxing. Coz u can't just say congratulations - that would be Spam Besides, it would just be an excuse to move closer to your own milestones. Happy 2500!!! Have a drink.
  4. I can't get into BoE betatesting until I get to know a lot more of how the game works; I'll play the scenario when you release it. You offer free without-even-a-signup file hosting at Calref ? Wow. Can it be used for uploading other stuff related to other SW games (scripts, mods etc) ? How big can the files can be and how long do you keep them ?
  5. There's no reason why the service shouldn't suddenly begin to distribute newer titles also. Edit : Well, apparently it already has begun doing it.
  6. Whoo, that's the exact opposite of what I feel. But who knows, l may still fall in love with Avadon 2.
  7. I hated Rawal because I was forced to server under him. But, to be fair, his take on life made sense and he was the only leader I could associate with among the Shapers. But I didn't like him planting tools in my chest, so I killed him in the end.

    Quick food poll

Slowly flatten and fry the Idli batter and you get a Dosa. Add a pat of Masala and you get a Masala Dosa, which was voted by the Huffington Post as one of the ten foods to try before you die (from around the world). Being a Dosa lover, I'm particularly proud.

    Quick food poll

If I'd made this poll, I'd have found it hard to leave rice out. Breakfast usually involves rice mashed, mixed and transformed into various formats. For lunch, it's rice with the default look and feel. And for dinner, it's mostly rice sweetened up into a pudding-like composition. But we don't just cook some rice up and eat it just like that, there'll be an assortment of hot and spicy curries to go with it - Sambar, Pulissery, Pachady, Bliss (a British derivation), pulingary etc. And the occassional salad. Love bread, sugar, diary and fruits.
  10. Avadon 2 FTW. Long live the Geneforge.
  11. I'm so inattentive that I never notice bugs. But when I do, it's usually something big like the saves going corrupt. And there's nothing exploitable about that. Just saying.
  12. Mmmf. Consoling my fellow feeling-secondary Windows users on the Mac release was getting to be rather enjoyable. Still, not complaining of course.

    I HATE YOU IPHONE

Oh. I thought this topic's title was "I hate you pony".
  16. Hehe no, I'm just down south. Kerala-residents are known as Malayalis (language : Malayalam). (see PM)
  17. They're certainly before my time, but I was pleased at my knowing most of those people - three directly, and the rest through forum lore and haunting the posts of banned/goodbye'd gone-away's.
  18. I fished out the original and I was like "Phoo, just look at that, it's the same old people". this place must be really old huh.
  19. I've found that my game runs quicker on DirectX than OpenGL. Though it may just be that my video card has OpenGL problems. I've been meaning to download a special driver which should correct this, but it's a Gb big.
  20. It's so clever that it just has to be a coincidence.
  21. Hey Zero Smasher, I'm a Malayali. I play a lot less games right now, but when I do, BoA takes a reasonable portion of my playing time.
  22. This should come in useful. Playing fullscreen was always a pain; you've got to alt-tab to multitask your processes.
