You get the following spells and other benefits from praying at the stone circles: 1: Restore Mind 2: Magic Map 3: Dexterity 4: Experience 5: Mass Paralysis and Death Arrows If you pray at four or five, you will need to go to the Great Circle in the endgame and fight three haakai, a few mung demons, and some shamblers.   6. If you are playing Avernum 1, either talk to the human prisoner in the Ogre Cave to the northwest of the Tower of Magi, or the demon in the demon laboratory of the Tower of Magi. Once either of them have told you what Linda has summoned, talk to Kelner in the Tower of Magi to get directions to a secret passage. At the end, you will be given a code word which will let you in to see Solberg. If you are playing Avernum 2, you need Royal Clearance. Once you have at least 50 reputation, talk to Radner in the Castle. (636)
  7. This morning, the release version of Geneforge 3 for Macs was posted to Spidweb's public FTP site . The link will take you directly to the download. Spiderweb's web site doesn't yet acknowledge the Geneforge 3 release. (635)
  8. None of the levers will change the position of other levers when pulled, but all the levers reset themselves when you leave the tomb. To reach all the levers without exiting the tomb, search for secret passages. At least one passage is blocked by a magic barrier, so you may need the Dispel Barrier spell. (634)

  11. 1. Except for going through the Great Walls and then to the final dungeon, there's nothing left to do in the game. 2. The hermit in the Adobe Hut will give you the Ritual of Sanctification if you tell him you'll use it against the troglodytes, but doesn't do anything else useful. You can't get the amulet that protects the person wearing it against petrification. (631)
  12. You need to kill a regular golem to complete that job. There are several at an outdoor encounter in extreme NE Valorim; you need to bring a horn before the encounter will take place. (630)

  15. If I remember correctly, there are two demons in chains. One of them will give you valuable information when released, and the other will attack you. You should release the one you found; if you get some info after doing this, don't release the other, which is nearby. (624)
  16. Come back 4 days after you asked him to make the weapon, and the weapon should be ready. It will be in the chest at the east end of the Bunker. Erika dies at the end of the game if you have her amulet and killed Rentar-Ihrno first; Jeff didn't plan on people killing Rentar, and didn't code that into the game. (623)
  17. There isn't a Create Drayk canister in the Radiant College, but you can purchase 2 points of Create Drayk from Fenen if you're a Barzite or have enough Leadership(5 points). (622)
  18. Because there isn't any way to open a dmg file in Mac OS 9 or earlier without using some hard-to-find software. All of the current Mac games are compatible with Mac OS 8.1 or later, which effectively prevents the dmg file format from being used. Some older system versions support img files, which are a similar format to dmg. Mac OS 7.01 and higher users can use the free Disk Copy 6.33 utility to open these files, but this utility isn't installed by default on Mac OS 8.1 or older systems. (621)
  19. It's a simple side quest. If you complete it, you will get the Xian Coins, which gives you 1 coin at random times; you will be told when you get a coin. It won't ever amount to that much, so I wouldn't go out of my way to complete this quest. (620)
  20. There are four drakon canisters in the game: 1. Shath's Waste, after testing the three creations for Shath. 2. Benerii-Uss Entry, after pulling a lever somewhere else on the level. 3. Benerii-Uss Holding. If I remember correctly, this one is in the drakon holding area in the NW. 4. Inner Gazak-Uss. Kill the freakish spawner, and then go through the passage beyond it. In addition, Barzites and Takers can buy 2 points of Create Drakon in the game, from Burham in the Radiant College and Salgurdar in Benerii-Uss Shaping respectively. Both are hostile if you aren't allied with their faction. You need to have been modified before you can buy these points. (619)
  21. The skill canisters write new abilities into you, while altering your mind to consider ordinary humans and creations inferior. There's a reason why the Shapers stopped using canisters to modify themselves. For an example of what the end result will be, play through the game as a Barzite. (618)
  22. Ice Lances will do the most damage to a dark wyrm out of all the mage spells in Avernum 3. For a gazer, I'd try either Fireblast or Arcane Blow. Drake Lords are best handled with Arcane Blow. A Rakshasa is immune to most, if not all, of the damaging mage spells and has to be killed through other means. (617)
  23. The third crystal shard is in the Geneforge, which is the area furthest to the NW of the world map. I'd start by looking in the NE part of the Geneforge area. If you're looking for one of the other two parts, one is in the drakon holding area inside Benerii-Uss Holding. The other is in Benerii-Uss Shaping. (616)
  24. If you mean the Battle Alpha in the Western Marsh, you can't, but if you have at least 6 points in Leadership, you can convince it to fight the rogues in this area. (615)
  25. You have to destroy the troglo-giant barrier before you can get back into Castle Troglo. (614)
