  1. According to Schrodinger's FAQ, you can get mandrake tincture in the following places: Complex Core(with amber pass or high mechanics skill.) South Rising Road(don't let the glaahks here see you take it, or convince Bernard to give it to you.) Phariton's Hall: It's in Phariton's chambers. The Shade Patrol: Northwest corner, near the shade generators. (613)
  2. There is a canister of Create Ornk in Geneforge 2. Go to the Mountain Base and find the canister of Heal; the canister of Create Ornk is just to the north of that, beyond a locked door. (612)
  3. If you ask Rentar-Ihrno about Quickfire in Exile 2, she will send you to get a tome from a place far to the north. Returning this tome will get you the Quickfire spell. If you don't want to do this quest, you can get an item which produces Quickfire from Pyrog's Cave. One of the major quests requires you to make Quickfire to be able to complete it. (611)
  4. Only one quest requires the Perfect Crystal: getting Sharon to make the Infiltrator Ring. If you want Lindian to make you the shield, you need the Black Crystal Powder. The Infiltrator Ring is better for characters that depend on mechanics and leadership. (610)
  5. Originally posted by High Lord Sylak: anyone kow where i can get Stuffit 4? http://www.jagshouse.com/stuffit.html (609)
  6. Barter: Tor, in Gunston Homestead. You must have completed Tor's quest first. Find Herbs: Blosk. Talk to Justin(I think) and find Grahk's Peninsula. Return with its location; it's a bit to the west of the Little Vale, which is SW of Formello. Magery: Solberg in Solberg's Tower. You must have Crown clearance. You can also buy it from an ice drake in the Scree Pits north of Fort Emerald after healing it with graymold salve. Anatomy: Mertis. Pathfinder: The priest in Formello. Gymnastics: Search the forest north and a bit east of Fort Remote. Blademaster: In the northernmost Vahnatai lands, get three wrapped bugs and deliver them to the bug shrine. Vahnatai Lore: Southern Vahnatai lands. Parry: Kill Gaddika-Bok, and then you can buy it in Mancuso. (608)
  7. If you have a backup copy of the Blades of Avernum preference file, put this file in the same location it was on in your old computer. For Windows, it may be a file ending in .dat in the same folder as Blades of Avernum. On Mac OS 9, it's in your Preferences folder, and in Mac OS X, it's in the preferences folder of your user account. If you didn't back up your preference file, ask Spidweb for a new code; if you bought a code previously, you shouldn't have any trouble getting a new one. (607)
  8. I believe sliths get 1 or 2 extra points in Strength, and maybe 1 point in Intelligence. Nephilim get 1 extra point in Dexterity. I haven't played any of the Exile games for a while, so this information may not be correct. (606)
  9. The Word of Recall spell is available in two places in Northwest Valorim: 1. The Defiled Crypt. 2. The Remote Cavern. The defiled crypt is visible to you from the beginning; travel to the area just outside Athron's lair(north of Calloc), and then follow the mountains north until you reach the crypt. This crypt is easier than the remote cavern. The remote cavern is somewhat farther north of the defiled crypt; head to the Quarantine Wall at the edge of the map, and then south until you reach the mountains. Follow the mountains to the southeast, and you will come close. Before you can get in here, you need to have purchased the map from Masok, who is in Karnold Province. (605)
  10. The door in the Test of Mind is just a red herring; there's no way to open it. It may be part of the test in that you'd have to realize that you don't need to open it before you can move on. Quickfire can only be obtained in Exile 3 by purchasing it from Petrie, in Blackcrag Fortress(unless you use the character editor.) (604)
  11. Enter the level from the north, and then search the area to the south, and then go west if it isn't there. (603)
  12. To pass the burning walls, talk to Vahkohs and accept his challenge. You will now be able to pass the first two(to his treasure.) To pass the third one, go to the entrance to the tomb and kill Vahkohs; you will only be able to do this if you have previously agreed to his challenge. After both of these are done, you can get to the crystal. (602)
  13. After you killed Elhioc, King Vothkaro should have told you that there's a map in the Giant Caves. Go there, get the map, and use it. Travel through the Concealed Tunnel and the Barrier Cavern, and smash the crystal there. You should now be able to pass the runes at the entrance to Castle Troglo. (601)
  14. Which gremlin are you stuck at? For the first gremlin, answer 'rose', and '5678' for the second gremlin. The levers in the Tomb of Vahkohs open and close portcullises behind secret doors. There is a secret door near the end of each of the passages north and south from the entrance. (600)
  15. stinky_onion wrote: How do you get to Phariton's hall? Go to the Breeding Pits and unlock the door at the western end. You will come to the Road to Phariton; here, the best strategy is to haste your characters and run past the pylons. There are two controls that will each turn off half of the pylons; one is in the SE corner and the other is to the NW. Once done, go to the SW area and find the exit. Beyond there will be Phariton's Hall. Reaching Phariton for the first time isn't easy. The Breeding Pits are to the west of South Rising Road, which is two sections south of the area you found Shanti's body. If you are only looking to purchase Create Drayk, you may want to get it at the Radiant College instead; it's more expensive, but significantly easier to reach. Also written by stinky_onion: Oh yeah, What should I put on my team? Pyroroamers are generally a bad idea. Any creation which you have kept with you for a long time is good; plated bugs and glaahks are good in melee combat, but useless otherwise. For distance combat, nothing stands out for you at this point in the game. (599)
  16. You can purchase up to two points in Create Glaahk at the Loyalist Encampment(Loyalists and nonaligned only), in the Upper Research Hall(Loyalists only), in Phariton's Hall(nonaligned only), or from Fenen in the Radiant College; you may need to have 5 points in Leadership before Fenen will teach you how. There is also a canister of Create Glaahk in the Demonic Depot. You won't be able to reach that canister anytime soon. (598)
  17. 1. Go into the room where Shath is(it's in the north central part of the level), and pull the lever there. All of the four doors will now open when you get close to them. 2. You can get five points in Create Drayk in the game without cheating. Phariton(Phariton's Hall) and Fenen(Radiant College) will teach you how to do it up to a maximum of two points. There's a canister in Barzahl's room in Rising, which is only accessible to Barzites. Another is in the SE corner of Zhass-Uss Outskirts, which is guarded by a drakon and a rothgroth. There's also a point you can pick up in the Radiant College besides what you can get from Fenen, but I don't remember where it is offhand. (597)
  18. 1. Barzites can be taught this from Burham, in the Radiant College. Takers can get it from Salgurdar in Benerii-Uss. Neither of them will teach you until you have been modified. You can find canisters of Create Drakon in Shath's Waste, Benerii-Uss Entry, Benerii-Uss Holding, and Inner Gazak-Uss. 2. That depends on where you are in the game. 3. You can't quit the Loyalists without joining another faction, and there is no way for you to rejoin a faction that you left without using the cheat codes. (596)
  19. The Create Drayk canister in Rising is in Barzahl's room; you need to be a Barzite to reach it. In the Zhass-Uss Outskirts, the canister is in a building to the southeast; it is guarded by a drakon and a rothgroth. You can also buy Create Drayk from Fenen in the Radiant College, and from Phariton in Phariton's Hall. Phariton will only teach you if you are nonaligned, and requires that you complete a quest first. (595)
  20. I presume you mean the northern golem spire. In that case, enter the Golem Factory and get the key from the bottom level; there is a staircase down in the NE area. Once you have that key, return to the main floor and then use the staircase up in the NW area. Make your way to the control room in the SE corner of the second floor, and press the Grid Alpha and Grid Beta buttons. You should also press the Shielding First and Shielding Second buttons while you're in the control room. Once those buttons have been pushed, return to the basement and exit to the north. You will be near the northern spire. (594)
  21. Head to Storm Port, and then north; you will come to a river. Look for a sign at the south end of the river; you will be able to walk through the water near that sign. Once you are north of the river, start looking for a stone circle in the mountains. Once you have found that, walk out of the mountains and head east until you come to the coast. Start searching this section of the coast for more water spaces you can walk into. (593)
  22. Go to the southeast coast, and then try walking into the water. One of the water spaces will allow you to enter; this is the beginning of a path. Take the path to its end(you may need to fly), and you will reach someone who sells mandrake. (592)
  23. If you are outside of the crypt and can't get in, wait until the first day of any month, and then try again. If you have Unlock Doors level 3, you can get in whenever you want. Each month in Avernum has 35 days if I remember correctly. If you are in the crypt and can't get out, drink from the enlightening pool in the crypt and head for the door straight away. You should be able to unlock the door from the inside if you are enlightened. (591)
  24. You need to have at least three levels in Fire Shaping to create drayks, and at least five levels to create cryodrayks. (590)
  25. There are two entrances to the Gale library; one is through city hall, and the other is through a secret passage south of city hall. The first entrance is usually only useful if you have Unlock Doors at level 3. If you do not have that spell, talk to Nantier about the library, and then find a secret passage in the northwest corner of town. One of the people there will give you a key for 5000 gold. Once you have the key, go to the southwest corner and look for secret passages. One of those passages will get you into the library if you have the key or Unlock Doors at level 3. To get Unlock Doors at level 3, get Dispel Barrier at level 2(from Mayor Knight's quest in Sharimik), and then go to the House on the Hill, which is in mountains east and a bit south of Softport.
