Stayed home cuz nowhere to go and I'm a homebody anyway. No kids showed up. Spending the night listening to The Smiths and wondering how Johnny Marr works his magic. Just me and all this candy, candy, candy.

Back in the 90s, AOL had Exile 1 and 2 advertised on this massive list of freeware and shareware games. I played a ton of these and eventually made my way across them.

Hiss back so they know you're friendly. -
Like a system where you could display their picture so you could indicate who was speaking without specifically mentioning it in writing.

I'm just sad that Black Isle stopped making their wonderful games after upgrading the engine and gameplay in Icewind Dale 2. Baldur's Gate and the like just feel so archaic to me. -

What is your favorite Spiderweb Series and why

That's a tough question for me. I really liked Avadon but the Exile series holds a special place in my heart. The thing is, I don't have the patience to play through the Exile games like I did when I was a child, and my younger self wouldn't have been able to appreciate Avadon. I guess they're tied? -
The email ruse was a distraction. I have the Jeff.

You can add and alter characters for the player, but there are some limitations. For instance, the player has to manually change the PC's graphics from the character ability menu.

I guess I'm a chump because I learned how to BoA from scratch and still tinker at it now and then.

This sounds oddly inappropriate.

I collect rocks. I judge their comparative worth by beating them against each other until one of them breaks. The rocks that survive go on to another round and so forth until only one remains. The champions are then pooled until I have enough to pit against each other in a gladiatorial style arena. The sole victor is rewarded a spot in the breeding pits.

Make it in Blades of Exile or Avernum.

A Defiant Land is a little unpolished in the ways that first scenarios typically are, but I liked it. The combat is lopsided and the backtracking gets obnoxious, but overall it's a solid first effort. The sequence before the final battle is especially impressive and might be the best use of quickfire in a scenario yet. As for what didn't work, this scenario channels a lot of Diplomacy with the Dead but fails to capture any of the tension or dread that DwtD inspired. You don't see any of the aftermath that inspired your employment, and there aren't really any flavor NPCs around to talk about how scared they are after watching grandma get devoured by giant reptiles (there's a guy in the first town, but that's about it). For all intents and purposes, the citizenry are getting along just fine. There's plenty of foreboding talk from mysterious glowy-eyed drakes about big old boogeydragon Athrax, but the initial confrontation lacks teeth and the final battle is anti-climactic. It's like you can tell me that you're dangerous all you want, pal, but you're going to need to start burninating some NPCs if you want me to take this serious. I think the moral of the scenario is that dragons talk big but go down like chumps. [rating]Average[/rating] Also, with apologies to the author:

Jeff's choice for music has been pretty disappointing since the brilliant Avernum 5 theme.

play_sound(-49); relocate_character(5,20,23); force_instant_terrain_redraw(); pause(5); play_sound(-50); relocate_character(5,19,23); force_instant_terrain_redraw(); pause(5); play_sound(-49); relocate_character(5,18,23); force_instant_terrain_redraw(); pause(5); play_sound(-50); set_character_facing(5,0); relocate_character(5,17,22); force_instant_terrain_redraw(); pause(5); etcetera, etcetera Doesn't work. As he joins in that town, I've tried removing him from the party and using his original character ID, but that doesn't seem to work either. Hrmm...
