Well-Actually War Trall Micawber
Thanks Stareye. Fyi a couple of line breaks are missing, e.g. before imdrained.

Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Use shift and d keys together to open a box on the the screen. Type cheat code into box and use return key.

Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
yes I know, tried all of them, but still was wondering if there r no more than those ones?
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
There are no more. Why, what did you want? Item spawning? You have to start messing with the scripts for that sort of thing.
Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
all I wanted was for example the chance of summoning a monster of my choice or instead of getting 500 coins the chance of getting 5000...things will be damned easier then!
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Can't help you with the summoning. This post describes how to use "giveasnack" to get lots of cash—basically by changing the value of a piece of cake. That's from A6, but it will work the same way here. You'd have to locate the script called avitemschars.txt, which is in the Resources folder, which is in the Contents folder. Which you can access by right-clicking on the Avernum icon and selecting "Show Package Contents". Be sure to make a back-up copy of the script before you change it. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
There were some that are just used for testing, but Jeff removed them from the final version.

You can just use 'iampoor' ten times. It's a bit tedious, but given how much gold 5000 is for most of the game, it's not so bad to have to spend 20-30 seconds of typing to get it. Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
Jerakeen the giveasnack cheat worked!!! many thnx for ur tip! now things r quite easier although I was wondering if there is a way for changing the graphic settings the 1280x720 make the characters quite tiny on my macbook screen! which resolution u r playing with?
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Er... 1024 X 768, but I don't think that helps you? To change your graphic settings, click "Settings" in the title screen (or hit the save/load menu button from in-game and then pick it), then select "Resolution and Window Size", which should toggle it to "Ask at Startup". When you restart the game, you will get a dialog with your options, but it may be that a Macbook can only have one option - others here would know more about that than me. Hope that helps. Ineffable Wingbolt Superba
"avoidmerchants" would be my number one cheat code.
Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
Superba exactly what happens when executing "avoidmerchants" ????
Ineffable Wingbolt Superba
They will not bump into my party anymore. It's annoying what happens with the two merchant bands close to the Tower of Magi. Every time you pass that narrow path they bump into your party, you waste time stoppin' and clickin' the "move on" option (twice). When you don't want to do some shopping (most of the times) this interruption really annoys me. It happens the same way with other merchants around Avernum. Another cheat I would much appreciate might be "killbela"... Bela makes you waste time, for sure.
Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
thnx for the tip, although I was more interested in knowing about the chances of using any other kind of secret codes that havent been report before in the above list... Ineffable Wingbolt Superba
Unfortunately I am a Mac user not a Hack user, honestly I believe the cheats cover the whole range of desires, except maybe for money, to which I am slightly critic, because it's boring to hit "iampoor" so many times. Furthermore, hitting the code again and again is getting close to influence the way I look at reality. It makes me feel... poor!
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
I think Jeff should have programmed in a response to those who accidentally type in "iampoo" (as I have done more than once). Something like "Don't be so hard on yourself!"
Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
yes as well for the suicidal diff in solving all the levels of the crypt of Drath, seems that this game is one of the most diff I have played all my life!!!!!! :S wonder how I would be able to do so with these cheat codes! Tenderfoot Thahd HelgaMarie88
I know this isnt the place for asking this question but was wandering about all this time since started to play the game, is possible once u r playing to add (hire) other NPC to ur party? thnx

Garrulous Glaahk dave s
Does iwanttobestronger still give pathetic XP as to make it almost useless? I remember it giving like 10 xp by the time you got to level 10 in previous games
Burgeoning Battle Gamma Parakeet
What is really needed is a "wheredidiparkmyboat" cheat. I don't want to reset the @#&!! thing. I want to Find it again. I expect that would require mind boggling programming to match my capacity to park the boat, do quest A, toddle on to finish off B & by the time I reached item G on my list...it might well have been heisted by the Empire for firewood or snatched by gremlins as a prank. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
An option to show all boats that you own on the automap would have been a nice idea. Oh well.

Burgeoning Battle Gamma Parakeet
Caribou16, think again...the Monsters see that boat, wait, gathering strength & numbers the longer it's unattended...::shivers flow through feathers:: I don't think so. Rotghroth Rhapsody Kreador
The more technical problem to a "port to boat" cheat is what does it do when you have more than one boat? In this game, you need to get at least 3 boats in order to complete everything.

Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
You have to leave the area and return to make the town reset. You may have to go away for a while too.
