  2. Yes, it would be very difficult to code, I'd imagine. I was just wondering out loud. Actually, since it's called "Torment" maybe every monster attack adds that damage over time lightning effect...THAT would be torment!
  3. It would be a neat mechanic if, as difficulty increased, the strategy if the monsters changed as well as just a health/damage increase. Maybe they would be less susceptible to the warrior trait that causes them to attack the tank, or they would know to gang up on a priest or mage to knock out the groups healer/main damage source.

  5. Heh, when I searched for "Abyss Mage" with the quotes, it brought up this thread and its replies!

It'll only really matter if you're reviving characters in combat, but that's a very powerful application of the spell, so it's still a meaningful difference. Or casting return life does damage to undead monsters!

  9. Just an aside, but this area has been my favorite so far in terms of the layout of the dungeon. The undead spiral was pretty good too.

  11. This is one of those quests that seems like it takes forever to complete. After you do so, you can't enter a cave or fort without tripping over all the picks and shovels laying about.
  12. Does anyone actually use the "avoid" option? I fight everything, no matter how one sided the fight is. That said, cave lore should let you avoid those annoying traveling merchants.
  13. This game needs some sort of built in clock. Bonus points if it could be set to alarm at a certain time so I don't keep accidentally playing for so many more hours then I had intended to.

  15. No, the Priest spell is turning water into Almerian wine!

  18. If you look at your journal, they should show up under the quest items section.

Oh and is it possible to disable auto save? Just out of curiosity, what version of the game are you running and on what platform/system?

I've even re-purchased games I already owned on discs. A:EftP happened to be cheaper on Steam, but even if it was the reverse, I still would have picked it up that way.

  22. I received the 5 cache achievement the other day, on easily my 10th cache, so there may be a bug. Either way, it is much more fun to play the game for the game and let the achievements come when they come.
  23. Plus, there are probably many people who just don't know about it. I had never even heard of the series until I happened to see it on sale on Steam. $20 (or $10 from Steam) is NOTHING for a game as rich and deep as this. I can see the younger crowd being turned off by the simple graphics, but I doubt that's a big loss, since they're less likely to have the money to spend on games. (Of course, now that I am old enough to have the money, what I lack is the time to play them!)
