Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
Everyone seems to be talking about global warming effecting the planet, but whether it is or not, it does seem that some really wacky weather is happening. Where I live, it is the first day of June. Normally, in any other year, it would be either already in the hundreds or close to it, and would have been like that for a large portion of May, too. But this year, thats not happening. I don't even think that its gotten to the 80's yet. I have been told that the last time anything like this happened was 39 years ago. I was wondering if the weather was being strange in other places, too. If it has where you live, what's been happening?
Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan
In before the "WEATHER != CLIMATE" posts. For what it's worth, we had flurries on Saturday, with the snow staying on the ground for much of Sunday.

Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
It has been rainy in Dikiyoba's area. Gloriously, gloriously rainy.
Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
The weather has no sense of timing. When I wanted to work in my garden for about ten hours total on Saturday and Sunday, it was nearly 90, humid, and the sun was beating down. And yet when I try to stage a Memorial day barbecue, it is of course pouring rain and thundering. *shakes fist at sky*
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
May was unusual: temperatures in the high 20s, low 30s (Celsius). We consider that hot. The average last frost date is June 6th here. Or it was.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Hypnotic
Prediced "Dry" winter, large parts of the country are flooded, the rain has been near constant with only hours of sun at a time for the past 9 days. This hasn't happened in years.
Easygoing Eyebeast Enraged Slith
Hot and humid here in NC as always, though we did have an abnormally extreme pollen season, for what it's worth.
Easygoing Eyebeast Goldengirl
In my part of the world, we were warming up quietly nicely for a mild start to Summer. However, in the last two weeks, we've gotten a nasty cloud spell where it's felt like we're back in the chills of February, not the start of June. Hopefully this cooling trend passes over fairly soon.
Kyshakk Koan Monroe
It's gonna suck when all that glorious black gold in the gulf begins to cause the water to heat up and we start suffering from oil induced hurricanes. Only humanity could ever come up with that one, oil induced hurricanes. We're so awesome. I mean, we're just too cool to wait for the greenhouse effect to take effect, we need some of that climate changing goodness as soon as possible. Is there anything oil can't do? Rotghroth Rhapsody waterplant
'...a rolling, alligator filled wall of flame.'! Oh my - I'm glad I live in Europe. Nothing so exciting ever happens here.
Magnificent Ornk Student of Trinity
Yeah, that's the biggest cultural difference between Europe and America, really. In Europe it's rare to see an alligator even smolder, and in the States you're checking the rear view mirror at every red light, to see if the burning gator wave is catching up. It explains a lot, if you think about it.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
There's nothing wrong with the weather. I just wish the guy across the street would stop building that ark. He says it'll be done before the monsoon hits in a few months. But all those animals in his backyard are starting to stink.

Burgeoning Battle Gamma tehpineapple
Yeah, it was ridiculously hot in southern ontario these past few weeks. wtf, canada? if I wanted to be hot and sweaty, I'd move to the bahamas. and if I wanted to be covered in oil, I'd move to the gulf coast. Kyshakk Koan La paix
The weather is always ridiculous here, for a desert. It was freeeeeeeezing cold on May 24, with some snow. And now it's in the 80's. Plants always end up getting damaged because of random snowstorms in April and May. May 1 had around six inches.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
I thought I was used to the funny weather. Heavy rains followed immediately by such intensely summery weather that it all steams right back up into the clouds and then rains again? Sure. Snow with winds that make the blizzard horizontal, and it's March? Of course. But then today it rained up, and I decided the weather is too intense for me. —Alorael, who also lost his favorite umbrella when it became too heavy as the water filled it. Sound like the fountains of the deep are bursting forth again. Better get in contact with Randomizer's neighbour and see if there's room on his ark for you. Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
Yes, I get the reference. And no, I'm not joking; I just (conveniently) forgot to mention they're toy arks.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Shem on you for that pun. —Alorael, who has no particular regret about this post. He should, though. These two realizations put him solidly on the midpoint of being a terrible individual.
Understated Ur-Drakon Callie
It snowed here last week, and it's in the fifties (Fahrenheit) today. It would normally be about eighty-five degrees right now, but Mother Nature seems to think it's April. (This weather has been terrible for people's gardening efforts.)
