  4. In each of the companion side quests, you get a chance to do what the companion wants or what it appears that Redbeard wants. Your choice affects how your companions react to you later (at the end of the game when you head to the potential final battle/s).
  5. Never tried an AIMHack, but I was a PnP gamer for years through grade school and high school. D&D, Traveller, GURPs, Heroes, etc. My user name actually comes from my favorite character from back in those days.
  6. The one by the entrance to Zethron's Lair in the Kva is the one for telling the Wayfarer what Ryozo's purpose for talking to the dragon was, I believe.
  7. That reward is in a box near the entrance to the zone with the second dragon (where you did the ogre quest).
  8. The key from the shaman opens a couple other doors on that floor which will lead you to the fight you need to complete to get the key to the gate house.
  9. If you mean the room with the four alcoves with the shielding spirits and the ghostly shadowwalker in the middle, you missed what Natalie says when you finish that fight. Go back up to the main floor.
  10. He's standing in the throne room in front of his throne. It's down the hallway just past the magic workshop, west of the kitchens.

  12. After you've spoken to the Watcher, just go to either of the gate houses and turn the wheel. The doors will be unlocked.

And, while this wasn't much more than an annoyance on Normal difficulty, I imagine it would be one of those things that would be hell on Torment. Another reason I have no personal interest in playing that way. ;-)
  15. It's funny. When I first downloaded the demo, I wasn't all that excited by the game. Then I played a bit more. Then I bought the game and now I've tried each character class and gone to the end with two of them. I find it a sufficiently entertaining game, but then I like to replay to test out different tactics and strategies. Playing with all magic users (remarkably easy on Normal difficulty until you start to hit too many magic-resistant foes), using the various knockback spells/skills to herd opponents into easy AoE death circles. In the end, to each his own. If you think you should be able to breeze through the game on its hardest difficulty level and the game should make you feel like the high holy one for saving the world from ultimate evil, you're probably in the wrong place. I have only played Avadon and Avernum 6 from Spiderweb, and I find that Jeff isn't interested in making black-and-white stories. I also don't think of Avadon as the SS, since one of the revelations in the end game section puts an interesting spin on the most heinous series of missions.
  16. Where the four statue things jump you in among the stalagmites there's an open corridor to the right with a sign at the entrance, rather than going straight to the next demon.

It is funny that Sevilin reacts as if you'd talked to Cahil any time after that area (at least after the monster with the mining assistance that I won't spoil for people), despite having never seen him.   19. I couldn't find anything about this on the forums. Has anybody else experienced dazing an enemy that normally has multiple actions, and they still get to act some of those times? I'm running Mac version 1.03.
  20. I'm having the odd problem that I can't actually find Cahil in the mines after chasing him and killing everything there. The gates to the other sections don't open and I can't find any more secret passages. What am I missing? The game acts as if I've found him and chosen to let him live, but I never had the option one way or the other.

  22. You passed by the constructs at the back of the Loyalist's lair and went up the stairs and destroyed more constructs, and then down the other stairs--after getting Gladwell's last quest?
  23. Gladwell only asked you to go to the door with the six ancient spirits. Once they've wandered off, you can go back to Gladwell with the mission complete. He gives you nothing for killing the other monsters in those tunnels. You do get XP and some items, though. The shade construct, being undead, is best killed with priest spells and from a distance where his area attack won't get you. But you can save him for later in the game when you're a bit stronger, really.
  24. You have become a skribbane addict. You either need to keep using the skribbane, or spend enough time not using it that the need goes away. Someone who's been through it would have to tell you how long that is, as I never touch the stuff. ;-)
  25. You have to go back into the breeding grounds, through that gate by where you killed the guys who were meeting and the ones downstairs. You'll know because you get to a big gate that you can't get through on your own.
