I feel pretty stupid asking this but... what's a 1/10 contest? I think I'd like a 24-Hour contest better though, because having such a short time-frame forces me to be more productive.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Where can I find a website to upload some short stories of mine?
Duck in a Top Hat replied to Acky's topic in General
Hooray for young writers! High-five! Here are a few good websites for young writers: writingfix.com fundsforwriters.com bookglutton.com (If you register for this, tell me what your username is. Mine's Happyface.) ning.com (I haven't actually tried using this one yet, but it might be a good place to post your stories.) writersbbs.com You might also want to try looking for some magazines on writing. That's where I found all of these sites. I'd be happy to read some of your stories some time and give you feedback. If you want, send me some of them. I hope this helps. Good luck! -
Okay, my monitor problem has been solved. I'm still not sure what was wrong in the first place but I just tried a different monitor and it's working fine.

I'm so sorry I missed it! My monitor blacked out and I'm still not sure if it was a problem with the monitor or with the computer. Plus, the internet was out, so I couldn't get on with my iPod to warn you guys that I couldn't make it... the whole thing sucked. Edit: Hopefully it's a problem with the monitor and I can just get a new one. Otherwise, this might take a while.

I'm up for a contest some time soon. How about a 24-Hour one? (Whatever happened with the last 24-Hour contest? Who won?)
-
Just for tomorrow, I think.
-
...I got grounded. I don't think I can make it tomorrow. I might be able to come for a little bit, but the chances are that someone will have to sub. Sorry!

As usual, with the early time I'll be about an hour and a half late. Hopefully someone can sub until I arrive.

What have you been reading recently?

During a four-hour car ride I managed to finish Things Not Seen, which I liked, and Smiles To Go, which I really loved. Spinelli's one of my favorite authors. Now I'm rereading I Am the Messenger. -

I think you forgot to set the level recommendation. It says 1-1. -
Whoa... *facepalm*

I just finished Switch by Chip and Dan Heath. It's the only non-fiction book I've ever read all the way through without getting bored and abandoning. It's a really amazing and useful book. -
I'll probably be about an hour late if we're going to start early. The same goes for all Sundays in the future. Hopefully somebody can sub until I get there. Sorry!
-
Quote: Quote: I will NOT be around on Sunday to sub, so Duck better step up and play his character. Not gonna happen I should be able to make it. It's a miracle!

I'd recommend playing through A1-A3 before you do the second trilogy. You'll get used to the graphics after a while, and it will be worth it to be able to see the plot in the right order. And once you get used to the good graphics it might be a little hard to get used to the old engine. I'm not saying it would be the end of the world to play the second trilogy first, but I'd recommend you don't. As far as Geneforge goes, you probably don't want to play through all of them in a row, so I'd recommend going in this order: G1-G2-G3-A1-A2-A3-G4-G5-A4-A5-A6. Welcome to the forums.
