  1. I think you're going to want to use the call approach_char() for that. Set the first argument ME so that you can reuse the script for each character who follows the party. (The first argument determines which character will actually approach the character you want it to.) The second argument should be set to 0 (so that the NPC follows the party's first player) and the last argument should be set to how close you want them to follow the first party member. (I'd set it to something like 6 or 7, so it doesn't get so close that it becomes annoying to the player.) You'll want to put this call somewhere in the start state.

  3. My third scenario for Blades of Avernum is finished! Download it here for both Mac and PC, or at my brand new website. Enjoy!
  4. Is there a prize for the first person to submit an entry?
  5. I'm having some trouble playing At The Gallows. I got to the part where I'm in the cave where the Followers are growing the fungus, and I figured out that I need to use the explosives in the storage room to blow up the basalt wall in the other part of the cave and let the river flow through and drown the fungus. But, when I try to either push one of the barrels out of the room, I can't get past the door with it. I also tried searching the barrels, but there was nothing in them. Am I missing something? Edit: Oh, I figured it out. I didn't know that I had to read the book in the mage's quarters first.
  6. I have two questions. First, how do I submit my scenario? Second, am I allowed to release the scenario before the contest is over, or should I wait?
  7. Yeah, I didn't get it. You could try sending it again, or if you still have the message in your sent folder you could try sending it in a PM. I don't know what happened.
  8. Yeah, I didn't get your report yet. How did you send it?
  9. Thanks, Fractal. I emailed you a new version of the scenario, and depending on your report the others may not need to run through a second time. Edit: I've also sent the new version to the testers who haven't sent their reports yet.
  10. We probably don't need any more than 3 windows testers, so Enraged Slith, Nikki, Dantius and Handyman are all in. Thanks for offering, though, Acky. We're definitely going to need at least 1 more mac tester, but in the meantime I'll send you guys all the scenario. Thanks!
  11. My entry in the Randomised Scenario Contest, The Black Crown (Part One), is now ready for beta testing. Towns: 5 Outdoor Sections: 1 If you're interested in testing, please post: 1. The name you would like to be credited with. 2. Your email address. 3. Your operating system. 4. George Bush—great president, or the greatest president?
  12. I didn't enjoy this scenario as much as any of TM's others. First, the snow floor in the beginning uses the regular grass automap icon. That bugged me a lot more than it probably should have. Plus, the combat wasn't so much challenging as it was really, really annoying. (I'm thinking specifically of the part where you fight the line of spiders in the tunnel one square long.) Plus, there was this line of dialog: "Not to break the fourth wall, but you're not going to need his services, so I'm not going to give him a dialogue node just so you can hear him describe what it's like being alone in a remote area." Then again, there was quite a bit of cool scripting, even though it was a 24-hour scenario. Rating: [rating]Average[/rating]
  13. I think I found a bug with the editor. Whenever you're trying to change the direction a selected creature is facing, if you click on the place at the bottom where it says "Facing:", it won't actually change the direction where it's facing. However, if you click there and then click on any of the buttons at the corners of the screen, or use the arrow keys to navigate around your town, the creature will change its direction the number of times you clicked before navigating.
  14. I read that series a while ago, and a scenario set in that world would actually be really cool. You probably wouldn't even need to make any of your own graphics; most of the things you'd need are already there (rats, bats, spiders, plus all of the cave graphics.) But before you start something like that you should probably just take some time to get acquainted with the editor by making something small. If you want, you could enter the Randomised Scenario Contest just to get started, and then later, once you've got more experience, come back to this project. Welcome to Spiderweb. Leave your sanity at the door.
  15. Quote: Make a scenario where the party has to stop a monster plague. The scenario will take place in a river or lake system. The party will spend most of the time fighting wild beasts. Three things will be important to the plot: a trap or ambush, a container of mysterious contents, and the mastermind behind it all.
  16. I'm only going to be around for two weeks in July, so if I can't finish a scenario in time I'd like to help judge.

It says so right here in your personnel file: "Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikable loner, whose passing shall not be mourned. Shall NOT be mourned." That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted, so that's funny, too.
