Open it with wordpad, and from the edit menu do a find search on gypsy. Goto the 3rd talk node...that is begintalknode 242. This is the one where in game you give her 5 coins. The script has code = change_coins (-5) Just change the -5 to 30000 and every time you give the gypsy $$ you get 30k gold. Takes about 30 seconds to do, and seems to work flawlessly. this takes more work and therefore does not fall into the category of "do b if you're too lazy to do a"
  2. that's not the definition of "life according to their image."
  3. i think i said it in this thread, but if dorikas becomes emperor, it'll just be avernum 1 all over again.
  4. off topic: i never really understood why dungeons of the unforgiven had that rainbow garbage can monster. thanks for reminding me of the game, though. maybe i'll get around to downloading it sometime.

  6. pretty much anything can be seen as evil (or at least unethical), depending on your reasoning. just do stuff for the wrong reason.
  7. i was actually talking about the first play through. also, just because something can be done doesn't mean it's worth doing. i just never really saw the point in waiting to buy something when you can just train in it, especially when you can get huge amounts of extra skill points with all of the knowledge brews and cystals. that's just me, though.

The Avernum Series: You take several steps whilst trying to accomplish some goal(s). Pretty much any other game that has ever existed: You take several steps whilst trying to accomplish some goal(s). Real life: You take several steps whilst trying to accomplish some goal(s).
  10. you can store things wherever you wanted in all of the avernum games, except for maybe outside, but that's logically a bad place to store important items anyway. i always used bows and arrows just because they were handy. i never really maxed out my characters' packs anyway, and it always helped to have some good ranged weapons for a character who didn't have magic or anymore mp.
  11. the caves aren't really fit for cows anyway, which is why cave cows are always described as sickly
  12. the only problem is when you can train those skills long before you can buy them. then your characters are weaker in the beginning, when you actually need those skills.
  13. they're calling it "climate change" now because in about 5 more years, they'll be talking about how we're entering the next ice age.
  14. ah, so basically nothing that i've played. edit: actually, i think i played dungeon master for about 2 minutes once but thought it was gay.

  17. hmmm, some replies aren't showing up or were deleted.
  18. you can always just move with the arrow keys...
  19. if i remember correctly, you find the hot spring during the course of the actual game anyway.
  20. i always knew there was something going on between lark and cordelia
