Kyshakk Koan tridash
Didn't notice any other posts here about this, but it's out - you can get it at http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/nethergateres/index.html .
Easygoing Eyebeast Thralni
Yay!! I'm already downloading it.
Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
Me too. In short order, if I decide the engine is acceptable, I will be buying it. EDIT: Hmm. It appears that it really does use exactly the BoA engine. Curiouser and curiouser.
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
The Blades of Avernum was definitely the best fit for Nethergate. Porting Nethergate to the newer engines would have taken a prohibitive amount of time. And considering how many people have been begging me, on these forums and over E-mail, to release another game with the Blades of Avernum engine, well, here we are. - Jeff Vogel
Garrulous Glaahk macdude22
I found the interface worked well with the game, navigation was easy, combat was easy to follow, I rather enjoy the BoA engine. But then I rather enjoy BoA.
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
I do want to stress that I see using the Blades of Avernum engine as a selling point, not something to apologize for. It is no secret that, while Avernum 4 has been our most successful game in years, there are quite a few people that miss the old engine and ask for its return. And a lot of those people never played Nethergate. (I can tell by comparing the sales figures for Nethergate and the Avernum games.) So if you missed the old engine, here it is again. If you didn't, Nethergate: Resurrection is still a very good game. My only regret, and it isn't a small one, is that the engine is sort of stuck at 800x600 resolution. I wish I could make it work bigger, but it just doesn't. On the bright side, it can be played in a window. - Jeff Vogel
Easygoing Eyebeast VCH
Good job Jeff! I especially like the item descriptions. Though it must not be much fun to have one for each item it really adds to the overall atmosphere.

Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque
Definitely better than I expected. The interface largely works extremely well for the Nethergate scenario, and is cleaner and somewhat easier to use than the original. The new skill system, the thing I expected to dislike the most, seems to work fairly well also. NR gets my vote for an excellent refurbishment. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
My only problem is that you can't get enough money to properly use the trainers for a full party. The big money comes at the end when you need it least. Still you can make 15,000 to 18,000 coins looting Castle Aethdoc if you take the time and pick up everything. Well-Actually War Trall Synergy
Strong Back comes in handy in particular for looting places you only get to run through once. I like to give it to all my PCs, whether Romans or Celts. I was amazed how much I carried out of Aethdoc. -S-
Articulate Vlish Mr. Slithzerikai
Finally something to post about Thanks for bringing back the old engine! This is exactly what I was hoping Resurrection would be
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The only places you need strong back are Goagh-Nar and Annwn. Castle Aethdoc allows you to leave and return as long as you don't claim your reward for finishing the mission.
Easygoing Eyebeast Xaiya
I can't wait untill the Windows version comes out! When is it expected to come out Jeff?

Garrulous Glaahk shadow9d9
I am waiting for the windows version but how will the upgrade option work? Will it have it on record if you have bought the previous version on your account and automatically give the discount?
Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
Under "Discounts, Promotions, and Replacements" at the bottom of the ordering page, there's a box to check that says, "I registered Nethergate, give me $13 off on Nethergate: Resurrection." Check that box.

Curious Artila Morgaine
I also am waiting for the windows version as well, what I'm wondering is if it can be ordered in advance even with the update option or should I wait for the actual release and when, if anyone should know, will that actually be, like a month or so? Thanks!
Ineffable Wingbolt JadeWolf
Nethergate was almost my favorite game before this if not for the dialogue options (put me off all the times i tryed to play it) but Resurrection definitely burys that problem! My new favorite Spiderweb game. Well done Jeff!
Articulate Vlish Joel Sanda
What a great game! If I weren't leaving for vacation tomorrow I'd order the CD now - will certainly order it when I return so I'm here for the postal delivery. I never played the original Nethergate, though I've played Avernum and Geneforge. This game is a blast - I'm glad it was released! - Joel
Easygoing Eyebeast VCH
I agree. Great game! I think Jeff should make another RPG based loosely on a historical time period.
