I may be a pirate, but I don't condone piracy! D:<

All that right-clicking won't be very easy with a one button mouse, which many macs have.

An Exile/Avernum art project... A little help?
Questionably Legal replied to Necris Omega's topic in General
I think the Jade Halberd looks fantastic, it and Demonslayer are my favorites. I have always been confused about how being made of a green mineral allowed it to acid things though. -
Creation Questions (G5)
Questionably Legal replied to Potato's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
All of the top tier creations are pretty tank-ey, really. War Tralls and Drakons have nice high HP, and Gazers are heavily resistant to everything but hypothermia. -
Running into a real live Spiderwebber!
Questionably Legal replied to A less presumptuous name.'s topic in General
That makes me imagine everyone on this forum as a bunch of chattering GIFTs. -
Your music that you listen to-All Genres Accepted
Questionably Legal replied to Death Knight's topic in General
There are no genres that I totally avoid, including the much maligned rap. However, I dislike many things, including a substantial amount of rap. (And anything my sister subjects me to, as a matter of principle. ) Across the range of genres my favorite artists are; Fort Minor, TFK/Linkin Park, Disturbed, Nickelback (gasp), Blue Stali, The Script, Weird Al Yankovic, ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D (jpop), and Chopin. -
Geneforge 4: Sociopath run?
Questionably Legal replied to RaustBlackDragon's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
Reminds me of a playthrough of A4 I did a while back where I killed every living thing that crossed my path... untill I got to the castle. I also failed to kill those @# !*% ultra-shades in the cities. -
Yes, but during gameplay the only area that gets revisited in a later game is possibly the former drypeak area in G5, and it's rather changed.

Having the previous game's protagonist be absent and extemely vague will be harder to pull of the in geneforge, where every game got a new continent, since presumably every Avadon will have significant time spent in... uh... Avadon. [Edit] Just saw Triumph's post, and while I agree that the PC's actions don't make the biggest impact on the world in general, they very much affected the companion characters, if they're are still around (and I think they will be).

Geneforge 5: Races and classes
Questionably Legal replied to adc.'s topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
I believe that there are minor stat differences betweenthe shaper and rebel versions of the classes. Except for servile, which gets occasional extra dialogue options, the class you play as only affects your beginning stats and stat growth. -
Could I have some potions?
Questionably Legal replied to Carranzero's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
Does he actually give you any potions if you ask, or does he stare like you've started spraying bannanas out of your nose? Big difference in feasibility. -
I'm a totally new to roleplaying, the closest I've been is reading Order of the Stick. This sounds really intresting though.

"Normal" Plant and Animal Life
Questionably Legal replied to Shogo's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
I don't think any of the creations introduced in later games are "from scratch". In G3 rotgroths are called a kind of modified battle alpha, someone (I forget who) says they think gazers are some type of super-vlish, and drakons are obviously evolved drayks. In G4, war tralls look suspiciously like yet another variation on your basic Gorilla-Thing That Puches StuffTM , wingbolts are flying glaaks, and kyshakks. . . um. . . vaguely resemble roamers. Also the "Shaping your enemies in battle" thing seems sort of inefficient compared to simply blasting them with fire. -
Can a "noob-party" win Avernum 5?
Questionably Legal replied to Cfant's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
Don't give up! There are cheats you can use to make the gameplay less of a problem if you want to experience the story. -
It's would be very confusing if you've played any geneforge first and then and then get a quest for hunting a gazer-lizard.

Funny thing in Geneforge 2
Questionably Legal replied to Learned Noremac's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
I could never do that. In fact, I almost never got any XP in G4 from any(non-boss) enemy that a NPC did much damage to, including everthing in the first zone. It left me with the impression that you needed to do the majority of damage in order to get XP for killing anything. How did you do that!? Unless you're using cheats to be waaay tougher than you should be in that zone. -
If you do a pullup you're clearly lifting something.

Me too! . . . And probobly everyone else.

Let's Play This Entire Damn Series
Questionably Legal replied to Shogo's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
Someone did a (very funny) text & screenshot LP of Avernum 5 on the Giant in the Playground forums. Except it was all from the point of view of the characters, so it might be more like role playing? -
Starting with Geneforge
Questionably Legal replied to Dear Potato's topic in Geneforge Series - Originals
I don't mind the lack of music myself, there is ambient sound in most of the games (I can't remember if the first Geneforge has it), but if i would definitely say go for music without vocals. I recommend the Fairy Tail OST (vol. 1), especially the tracks "Tower of Heaven" and "Main Theme". Have fun with the series! -
What have you been reading recently?
Questionably Legal replied to Alorael at Large's topic in General
Hi all. I've been reading the forums for weeks and I finally made an account. Took me way too long. Anyway, I just finished reading the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks and found it really good.
