  1. There is this band of poor, non hostile sliths living just north of Warren Falls. It is said they don't even were able to build huts. Their chief can't speak party's language but points at the piles of rock and open his hand. Does he by mistake wants a hammer to break the rocks and build huts? Or what? Silly people.

  4. Well, no. There is a merchant in Oglai, he sells only normal waveblades. Those that passed through my hands were sold when I discovered better blades.
  5. Ok. I went back to Vanathai land, it's odd but I probably loot the land so well that I can't find anymore fine waveblades. Now I got a problem.
  6. Yes, me too lost my dear drake in this way, shambler is quite good and a simple golem does what it's supposed to do. I don't like the random at all. A reasonable way would be to change them in chronological order from the older, one by one. Something else that I'd like to be fixed is the fact one can't examine his list of souls when the option is not in use.
  7. I gave him the Vanahtai objects he asked for, in one turn, and maybe here is the issue, as he doesn't accept the waveblade that is the last of them. I tried to close the dialogue box and open it again, but the answer is always the same, he says I don't have the waveblade. How can I wake him up?

  11. Right, thanks a lot Randomizer, I forgot about the path, I thought to remember the side gate had to open after the procedure I feel much relieved now. It's a pity about the level 13 cap for singletons, maybe Jeff could take notice of this issue for next games.
  12. I passed the third guardpost there and took the exit to surface, but I had no Orb at the time so I went away. Now I have it and went back to third guardpost again, the side gate remains shut. I presume I took the right steps as before: - stepped on the two discs, stepped on the darker carpet southeast corner. Went to the northeast corner too, just in case, because the previous time I read the writing on the corner and it says to reach every corner. No way, I am stucked. By the way: first guardpost has a door which needs a 14 Tool Use level to be opened. Being on singleton playthrough I reached a 12 level + 1 given by magic gloves = 13. Considering this is not the only door I found that requires a level 14 Tool Use, is there a way to take this level up?
  13. Aknowledged. Thank you! I forgot to ask about the Black basalt, they have a market price but I don't remember if they would be needed to craft special weapons in places like Harston.
  14. I got 20 aranea fangs now and if I well remember I already brought some of them to Rosemary, but she doesn't seem to want this ones. So do I leave them on the road or there is someone else who wants them? By the way, nobody seem to want Drake eggs and Lizard eggs as well. And I have 10 of the latter.
  15. Thanks, I knew that but it doesn't take me anywhere since I don't find a way to use those gates, I mean, I don't know how to reach those exit stairs and gates from the underground. Edit All right, all right! I like to complicate easy things, I expected these gates where there to exit from the underground so I went mad to find a way to access the underground. Gosh.
  16. Sorry, I don't get it. I can't enter the controls in the northwest. No way. They say one needs Move Mountains level 3 to enter there, and I got only level 2. But they also say one needs the Athame to get level 3 Move Mountains, and I can't get the Athame because I don't have level 3. So, it seems I missed something important here in terms of sense and knowledge. How is it? I only noticed there a message on the Athame gate that says it is probably made in Dharmon. Is it a hint that the key is in Dharmon?

I play with the same party in different Avernum games, conceived to be most effective at first attack, to kill or damage the foes, shorten the fight and prevent foes to get harder to eliminate or to protect themselves with magic. I use a Berserker dual wielded, a Berserker with halberd, an Archer+Priest, and a Hedge Wizard. The settings make some big fights harder and longer at the distance, due to the fewer protection items used, but shorten most of the others. With regards to Archers, my experience is they are quite useful in combat because they finish the job. In fact I noticed that frequently the berserkers leave a portion of health level on their enemies, and they would be as dangerous on next turn, that's where the archer comes on the scene.
  18. I have a similar difficulty there. When I am in front of the gate in the maze northwest corner, it says a key is required. I went away because I found no way to find that key in the Hall of Chos, not even going down the other stairs, those you open inserting abacus and other objects. I thought the key was part of another quest maybe, but I found no hints about that so far. Problem is I would have needed Move Mountains level 3 in many different places I have been, and to get level 3 I read here I need the Blessed Athame... so, what should I do now?
  19. In the Lava Dome, there's a hint about smoking a pipe between East Pillars. Bit of a surprise. I had to reach the surface to find a pipe, then I went back to Lava Dome and went close to every pillar, included the three protected by infernals. Nothing. I don't get this one.
  20. Edgwyn : yes, that is a good idea. Something similar to what happens in the lands north of Fort Emerald when you cure a dragon in its cave, you save its life literally, then he teaches you at a high price, and in this case the balance isn't right to me. But, if one would be in the right conditions to associate an act of donation with some gratitude from the other side, a better reputation might be the result, and happiness for all
  21. I found this Sixus note that says "some magical barriers are resistant to the dispel barrier spell, but they can be brought down by exposure to quickfire." Does this mean one has to repeatedly hit them with the same dispel barrier spell?
  22. Dark tunnel is on the island with the Lych and the Vahantai prisoner, the opposite island where the Black Cube is. There is a place here there with a green coffet behind a rock. Move Mountain spell doesn't work to disintegrate the rock. I can't find an alternative way to reach it (after I kill the Lych and set free the Vanathai, however he is still there). Is there a secret switch I do not see, or is this part of some quest I don't yet acquired, or... ?
