  1. In Waterfall Warrens aside of Bartolomhew chest are others, two of them are property of Voralia and Sandaras. Did I miss to meet this characters in the game or they do not exist?
  2. Subject reprise. There is definetely something not linear in Spiral Pit quest. The exact sequence to perform is: take Rampaging Ghasts quest (on Silvar job board); enter Spiral Pit and kill everything there; report to Commander Lynn about Rampaging Ghasts (in Mertis); go back to Silvar job board and the Spiral Pit quest appears; return to Commander Lynn and get the money. Gosh. It is not linear at all to me. One more thing. Spiral Pit final battle is an extremely difficult and long one (being i.e. on Torment and singleton as I am now), and it's written you free the area of a very bad influence but, you don't even get a single level of Reputation. I checked it. My pal was level 22 Reputation before the Spiral Pit and was level 22 after she reported to Commander Lynn.
  3. I created a third party member on my last duet Torment playthrough. I did that about half of the game and initially this character was mainly intended to carry quest items and to give to other members a broader choice of weapons and armor at hand. But, as I soon discovered, this additional task became a bit like training a younger friend. So Wisdom crystals and best armor went to him, in order to let his Experience rise as soon as possible and to protect him from foes. My whole battle strategy had to change. It was fun. The new party member finished the playthrough with one third Experience level less than the other two characters.
  4. This is the first time I entered and passed the first guardpost this playthrough, so the reason why I couldn't destroy the Empire Portal in previous one might be different to the sequence we are talking about. I wonder what could it be. I remember the party switched the controls in related room, then cracked the Portal but couldn't find a way to crack the four pillars surrounding the area. There were instructions I recorded about circumnavigating the area walking on the external path and I did, but nothing happened.
  5. Would there be a dialogue box in the hidden cave with three ice puddings in first outpost? Something which tells you performed the procedure? Otherwise I fear I didn't learn all of the instructions again, well, I really wouldn't go back to Empire Archives.
  6. When you need to save slots in character's inventory It is also possible to use Junk Bag to store items that don't have a selling price, i.e. Aranea Fangs and Lizard Eggs. When you select "Sell all in bag" those items will not be sold.
  7. In Empire Archives there is a paper describing procedures about the Augmented Teleporter. It is written: "Find Empire Symbol in cavern (code). Press sword, then crown three times, then sword two, then crown four." I am now on my third playthrough. In first one I managed to destroy the Empire Portal, even if I did not find the place where to perform the press here and there sequence. Don't know how exactly I did that. On second playthrough I had to give up with the Empire Portal quest as I was not able to reproduce the actions which brought me to destroy the Portal the first time. I am now close to the end of the third playtrhough and to approach the Portal. I still can't find the abovementioned cavern. Where is it, please?
  8. Infiltrator Orelene has Spine Shield, that is not written passing the mouse on her, it is an unwelcomed surprise.
  9. This situation can't last long anyway, just wait until I learn Stinkification in Formello then I'll show Commander Lynn what Power does mean
  10. By chance I found I didn't get the quest, that still was on the job board in Silvar. Then I went back to Commander Lynn, she properly thanked me and gave me the coins. After that, the skeptical dialogue didn't disappear. Mistery partially solved
  11. You are probably right. Still, there is no job board in Mertis and I am not sure but it is possible I was given the mission personally, or maybe it was on the job board of a different town, or I didn't get the mission at all (that would explain the whole matter). Unfortunately I can't say about the money, as I didn't noticed it. But it is possible it was not given. Commander Lynn acknowledged about the Rampaging Ghasts, then nothing relevant for the Spiral Pit mission appeared in the dialogue box. I will try the other Commander Lynn's mission, Honeycomb bandits, to see if one mission success would unlock the other one. Just for fun.
  12. Must be one of the longest words in English language. However, Commander Lynn in Mertis is skeptical about the destruction and santification of the Spiral Pit. How to make her change opinion?
  13. Carried uranium bars the whole first playthrough, thinking it was destined to some quest, as to forge a special sword (that would have been great). I did not understand about me being poisoning a character. Frankly, this was a vile trick and I am outraged
  14. That was great! Thanks a lot. Er, I have another one for you, if you please In Empire Archives there is a paper, describing procedures about the Augmented Teleporter. It is written "Find Empire Symbol in cavern (code). Press sword, then crown three times, then sword two, then crown four." Is this a Jeff's joke or the place does exist? And in this case, where is this place where to press crown and sword?
  15. When there look to the left and you can see a corridor with statues and a door, at the same portal level. Is there a way to access it?
  16. Just to be sure about this, you meant the Fire Sword? Otherwise I would like to know where the Fiery Sword can be collected.
  17. Really? I am sure the party payed a visit to King Mica before leaving for the Fiery place, they were not offered any extra help. They went to each powerful Avernum friendly character to get useful spells/items before the final fight.
  18. - There's a lot of rumors through the game about a Dragon working for the Empire, and it's not Sulfras, so I expected to meet Koth somewhere and have a fight with it, but no. - You get two main Level 3 spells from King Mica after you slain Garzahd, when you don't need them anymore.
  19. Thank you. The barrier in Ziggurat is in the room where the wall crushes and you are forced to escape from Garzahd.
  20. As far as I can remember there are at least two main barriers that level 3 Dispel Barrier spell can't take down. One is in Ziggurat, the other is in Pyrn place. I wonder if they protect some useful artefacts one can take "before" the final fight with Garzahd, and if there is any chance to get them before the showdown. A minor question: in the cave where Gremlin women are, there is a secret switch that opens a rock and reveals a magical barrier that I couldn't find the way to reach. How to?
  21. Thanks a lot, Lilith! I could have explored for ages before I found it, it's a difficult switch, reminds me that in AEFTP in the place with the pools and the talking golems. At last!
  22. Ok, thank you, but I don't have a clue about which is the barrier tower you suggest. There's a tower north on the way to Ziggurat, a tower behind the town in lava lands to the east, I've already been to both of them.
  23. I recollected the three Crystal Souls and destroyed the Portal, so I am slowly approaching the last part of the game and Garzhad. Before going to him, I would find Dispel Barier level 3. I believed level 3 Dispel Barrier could have been inside one of the two tomes Mahadavi grant me to read, but no. There are quite few quests left at this point and they are minor ones too. So I came to think that maybe I left level 3 behind, somewhere. At this point, I'd appreciate if you can tell me level 3 is related to one of the following quests, or not: 1) Find Gremlin women 2) Rescue Nephil slaves 3) Recover giant statues (I have two) If yes, ok, I'll find it. If no, I definetely would need to know where it is. Avernum is, er, a huge place to search for one thing
  24. I will, the hammer was in fact my guess knowing Jeff's sense of humour, but at first I took it seriously and I descended Warren Falls three times looking for a cave where to find the something they need... hope Jeff will laugh with me
