  1. Fine, fine, I ignored the trapdoor first time, found it now :-)
  2. Hi, coming back to Avdon after Avernum EFTP and Avadon II so I maybe forgot something about Brasula's quest. Feel like I already killed Eudora's bandits but I got the quest afterwards, and Brasula seems to ignore that. Presuming she is right and Eudora is alive, I however have difficulties to locate her in Beraza wood(s), so in which wood is she and where precisely, please?
  3. You would have a worse decision to take with Yoshira quest, to keep her by your side in the end of the game you miss a long and significant fight against the Raptors. A suggestion: when you would decide to fight the Raptors anyway, avoid to complete the quest they give you, it's not relevant in terms of plot, but you could feel better knowing you did not damage any Avadon property.
  4. I have this doubt. During the first mission that leads us to Fort Foresight, the party runs into bandits that have a portrait of the main character, Eye Etsu then asks me what I want to do with it. Ok. 1) What is the point in the context of the story, that there is this choice? I have tried both to choose the option to report the incident directly to Redbeard and the option to keep it private, but I do not think that there are consequences. 2) And here is the most important point: who is the traitor who drew the picture? No one who does not live in Avadon yet knows my face well enough to portray it, and there does not seem to be in Avadon known traitors who take the side of the rebels. Perhaps the only one in the game who has reasonable and sufficient opportunities is the courier Scout with which the game is started. Does it make sense?
  5. Yes, I agree, although I felt a bit cheated by not being able to go upstairs to fight the invaders, especially in a playthrough in which I remained faithful to Redbeard. I would have preferred a long fight against numerous enemies and that only after defeating them I was allowed to return to Fort Foresight. I understand that this is the game, and that every end may seem little rewarding after all the hard work done to get to that point. However, I believe that a number of other players would have preferred to have more alternatives.
  6. Thanks Shogo, I managed to kill Gryfin. The very short way to kill him is to use Shards of the Phoenix, if you have any left at this point, to allow the Tinkermage to use Yankshots and Netshots repeatidly, immobiliizing and preventing any attack from the Duke. While I tried to survive the infernals, and with a little help from that scarab which heal two effects at once (can't remember its name), this way I killed Gryfin in six rounds. The Necklace of Vitality you get is worth while, the Wrap is a duplicate of a good one you may already won. The party consisted of Shadowalker, Sorcerer and Tinkermage.
  7. It's a shame. I tried twice to kill him before the arrival of Redbeard but I failed even though I had a party consisting of two shadowalkers and a tinkermage, then with the ability to get out of the traps without wasting time to destroy turrets and mines. I used all elysirs of recovery and the shards of the phoenix to shorten the time of engagement and eventually I came to a single round from killing him, but not fast enough to avoid the intervention of Redbeard. I'd like to know if anyone has succeeded.
  8. I pay tribute to the strategist who has managed to do what seemed impossible, and take this opportunity to ask if and how you also managed to kill Chabon before the arrival of Redbeard.
  9. I have to correct because the constructs of the map center are not hostile, once you have used the basin to the south. With a two Shadowalker party and third character with flying scarab you can be more rapid than constructs from the south to reach the central area of the map, then engage in dialogue with the priest. All this is possible without having previously to deal with the construct to the south, which, however, will come when you stop waiting for them. By the way, I wonder whether it is possible to make sure that the god of the temple was angry to the point of accepting the fight.
  10. Terra, when you solve the basin quiz, then you simply need to get to the center of the map when no construct is in sight. The dialog option does not activate if they are. To cut it short, use the "showmeall" cheat to locate them.
  11. There is also a Meteor fragment, take it to Nicodemus and you get a +2 Strenght stone.
  12. It happened when I went back to Base C merchant after Miranda showdown, so I was already full of coins (30 thousands reached) that I simply wanted to discharge and make space. The moment I sold him the goods my account dropped to zero coins. Ain't that peculiar?
  13. That is endgame, isn't it? Maybe you missed the chance to add significant bonuses to your equipment before that moment. For instance, when you get Blademaster blade in Troezen you can guess that this is the ultimate weapon for her, because adds levels to some Blademaster skills. Right moment to give that weapon a golden runstone, if this character is more important than others in your party, or at least an improvement with a different runstone.
  14. Runstones are a bit of a problem to me, always have been. When to use them, this is the main question. However, I came to the decision not to use the 80, 120, 140 coins runstones at all, I use the 160 coins for sorceress and shaman but only for staffs (two handed); then I wait they find single hand wands to use golden runstones or again 160 coins ones. Same reasoning for Dex, Strenght, Intelligence runstones, I wait to use them until I collect weapons, belts, piece of armor etc etc which I am reasonably sure I will wear till endgame and sell all what's left.
  15. It happens a lot. While you continue playing missions for the Fortress, the moment you change side in Konstina camp is top class. It happens exactly what you guess if you choose to fight against people you've defended since a moment before. This is a dramatic decision but well worth it to take it, it gives you a different perspective and strong emotions.
  16. Is it likely to ask for a list of secret switches locations, or is it a total politically uncorrect request? I feel I'm missing a lot of switches comparing to Avadon 1, or may be there are less of them?
  17. I killed them the first playthrough, because it's experience points and it's fun, not worth the prize in terms of breastplate, there are better ones you can get before this fight.
  18. I believe there is also a dialogue in Avadon 1 where Redbeard himself talks about his homeland, the point where you choose an answer as "I want the glory of battle", however I won't go through the whole game to be sure about this
  19. @ Earth Empires I believe yours is a more realistic perspective than mine, on the other hand Avadon (as center of power) is a place where you need to kill your predecessor in order to gain the right to rule. But it still makes sense to me that Redbeard's hypothetical family may play a role in game, that's why I asked opinions about Callan's words.
  20. Heart Callan says Redbeard may have a family somewhere in Lynaeus, a family which could even not know who he really is. Is this an anticipation for Avadon III plot? Say, you begin the game and you don't know yet you are the son/daughter of Redbeard... (well you suspect it as you are a megalomaniac player , then you would need to find it out in game).
  21. I see... is your name Sulla? (no offense meant)
  22. And what about that poor Eternal Prisoner? I became Keeper just to free him
  23. I think there is a difference, while I agree that all of the answers produce a happy reaction, it doesn't mean Tan is showing what he really thinks or that your answer has no alternative consequences. In fact going back to Hand Callan it is your final report that differs, according to the choices you made. In one case my report was about I couldn't be able to win him over to our side, and this was when I answered the same as Lilith and gave her same reasons. Telling him what I thought Tan was eager to hear, namely no further bases in Corruption because they cost too much money, my report to Hand Callan was that I won him over to our side.
  24. My guess is that the choice may depend upon the fact that Tinkermage is already told to be the most powerful member of the party, and Jeff didn't want to give him further advantages. However it seems to me a bit odd.
  25. I am wondering why party Tinkermage is not allowed to place mines. For what I understood of Avadon's 2 world it is them (and some constructs) which build them.
