  1. Contrary to popular belief, I'm still alive! Just been a tinge busy rebuilding my house lately... long story. Anyway, have some LP of my most hated part from the demo.
  2. Not that crazy, considering aside from the LP it's been a long time since I ever posted anything here. And truthfully it doesn't take wind out of my sails, since on YouTube some other guy was doing a LP of the series and started at the same time I did. And he's already on game 2 last I checked. And doesn't have to deal with the 15 minute video length limit. But I digress. Nice job.
  3. And with these videos, we finally reach Pentil, and the home of the Obeyers. Huzzah! Another safe spot!
  4. Oh hey I'm till doing this! And this time we get involved in THE BATTLE OF PENTIL PLAINS! Queue up the battle music!
  5. Yeah I'm still doing this. And this time we're in the Hills of Jars! Huzzah. What fun.
  6. Uploads! Ambushes! Explosions! Exclamation points! Comment! Suggest names! Can't! Stop! YELLING!
  7. Eeee-yup, I have another video uploaded. And this time, we got another little creation of our own! So watch the video, and let's hear some more suggestions for names for our little baby!
  8. And quickly quick, I got more videos uploaded! Gasp and shock and disbelief and stuff like that!
  9. THAT I don't know if I can help with, as I'm running Windows 7. Hopefully OBS works for what you're doing. Oh and by the way? I got a whole bunch more recorded today, and got some more uploaded. WATCH AND ENJOY!!!
  10. I've been using a program called Open Broadcaster Software to record, and Windows Movie Maker to edit. ....stop laughing. I don't have money to throw about to buy programs nowadays due to various reasons, and I just took what free programs I could find that wouldn't dump an "Unregistered" watermark in the corner or something. Besides, the programs are free and they work for what I need, even if they're not the most robust stuff.
  11. Well a camera isn't needed, and the programs I'm using are free stuff. The only thing I would have had to buy was my microphone, and I already had a headset. Cheap and maybe not the best quality, but hey, it's something.
  12. Yeah I got even more. And yeah, this is... what, a quadruple-post or something? Pah. And give me ideas for a name people!
  13. And I have even more of my Let's Play posted! And I finally bring in my first creation. Also, to get my viewers involved, I'm letting you guys name him. So post comments! Tell me how I'm doing! And tell me what I should name my fyora!
  14. Yeah I know it's a doublepost, but screw it, I'm the one doing this Let's Play! And Vakkiri... was a long one, compared to the earlier areas. I'll post them below. Oh yeah and subscribe and comment and like and blah blah blah all that kind of standard crap. Though really I just hope to hear if I'm doing alright.
  15. So I didn't stop, and I managed to keep going! Two more vids uploaded, detailing the remainder of the tutorial. Feel free to watch them below. Also, feel free to subscribe and comment and blah blah all that stuff.
  16. Yeah, call me crazy for posting here, but I decided to start doing a LP of Geneforge. You can see the ones I posted in the spoiler below.
  17. Extra Credits is an online video series hosted on PennyArcade's site that tends to talk about various gaming-related topics. Occasionally they do a bit called "Games you might not have tried" which looks at games that tend to fly under the radar and not get much attention. In the fourth episode (released today), they showcased Avernum amongst the other games they had. http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/games-you-might-not-have-tried-4 If you want to skip the rest of the games (Why would you?) skip ahead to 3:08.

  19. Razordisks are throwing weapons and when you use them, they are used. You need a lot if you want to make regular use of them. As for the bow? No idea.

  21. I just finished Avernum 5. To (I have no idea what that symbol is... so I'll call you E), those are infinite respawns much like in the Howling Depths. Only difference is that they're in front of you instead of behind you. Once you reach the fortress it's easier. And I gotta say, loved this game as well. More comedy than A4 and plenty of parts I enjoyed, even with a few frustrating parts. And yet, the end remained quite enjoyable and nice.
  22. Yes, I'm doing a Let's Play of Avernum 5. Specifically on Livestream. Right now in fact! I play all day and will probably Stream it, so if you want to watch it, come to the link provided! http://www.livestream.com/chessrooksstream Edit: Due to the throat aching after three hours of playing, and not wanting to have to deal with the ache after another FIVE hours of playing, I don't think I'll be continuing the stream/LP. Much as I'd like to, I hate restricting myself to how much I can play.
  23. I just finished my playthrough of Avernum 4 last night. I admit, I played it on Easy (I tend to play games on Easy first so that I can experience the story without yelling at the AI for sniping my head 60 times in 2 minutes), but I enjoyed it. Party consisted of a straight-up warrior (Wielding sword and shield, also dumped some points in Nature Lore), a Slith Warrior/utility (Wielded a polearm and dumped a lot of points in Tool Use), a straight-up Priest (High Priest Spells skill, also had a lot of points dumped into First Aid), and a straight-up Mage (High Mage Spells skill, also had a lot of points dumped into Arcane Lore). I tend to go with well-rounded parties like that, and plan for similar setups in the future. And overall, I enjoyed the game. Had one or two moments where I had a little trouble trying to decide which way I should go next (Only to later find that a barrier would have prevented me from going one way anyway) and pretty much just played the completionist way I play, getting every single quest I found completed by the end. Except Metal for Dawdy. As far as I know he never has enough iron... Also learned the hard way that there's a limit of 30,000 gold that you can carry. Any more you take will just be lost forever. So SPEND YOUR GOLD PEOPLE!!!! Up next, Avernum 5!
  24. I would join, were it not for three things... 1: I've never seen Labyrinth. 2: I've never even seen the 4E books, though I've played 3.5 or 3 once or twice. 3: Very restricted timeframes for me. As for doing it on AIM... well actually, I would've suggested using, say, IRC for it. That's where I've done mine. For those of you not in the know, IRC is essentially chatrooms. Individual rooms are located on servers, so all you'd need to do is find a server to go onto, create a room (It's as easy as /join!) and wait for everyone to join in. It can help with immersion with the /me command, that automatically makes the lines change to look like actions... it can help with privacy with PM systems... and, if you're lucky enough to find one, a DieBot will allow you to roll dice in-channel to display results for all to see... or just the DM, if he PMs the bot. I've seen a sophisticated bots that actually can handle entire game systems, so a simple type of !melee does a full on d20+allmodifiers without having to type them all out! Just a suggestion is all. The diebot would be the hardest part. The rest? Pure simplicity.
  25. Sounds more like a Farmer's Guild to me.
