  1. I don't have any of the GFs so I don't know the exact steps, but I do know the gist of it. Change the name of the shaper graphic files to that of the drakon graphic files.
  2. The Cotra shade is part of a mid-endgame quest. Just avoid getting killed by it and you should be ok. EDIT: Wrong city. The third test is what I must now assume you're talking about. The third test is not northwest of Cotra, it's northeast of fort Dranlon.
  3. If you tell her that you're going to kill her, the entire town rises up against you. If you just attck her then only those that can see her rise up against you.

  5. Quote: Originally written by VCH: It's ironic but I usually play through G1-3 without using any creations. Guardians need no help beyond their sword. That's a matter of play style. Some people appreciate the fact that the guardian is best at meleeing enemies an beleive that should be his primary focus. Others beleive that creations are the way to go, no matter what. Therefore skill points spent bulking up his intelligence and creation skills (but no more than one should be raised higher than 3) will never be wasted. And then there's those who have a distinct masochistic attitude toward the game and try a missile guardian. On torment. (Yes I'm looking at you, stareye.) They're crazy and their advice should be taken most of all because apparently, if they can win like that they can win with most any setup.

  7. I think the arcanes and divines are not buyable. I know that dispel barrier is not buyable. Same with luck and gymnastics. Anatomy, again, I think is unbuyable but has buyable prereqs.

  9. Quote: Originally written by David W: I received a blessed bow when I completed this quest. Not a good reward as the bow is weak. That's dependant on the bows skill of your party members. A character with low bows skill will dish out more damage on average with a blessed bow than a yew longbow (the best bow for that part of the game). However if all your characters have high bow skill and yew longbows, then yes, sell it.
  10. You can get the key other ways. Kill Queen Annatolia. She may be harder to kill, but you get a radiant shortblade for your effort.
  11. Why the bow of decay? Why the bow of submission? The multipliers on those are 7-14 + 1-2/level. You should have a blessed longbow (13-39 + 1-3/level) by now. Your main archer should be using that. Also, your melee damage may be inflated by skills such as strength, bladesmaster, anatomy and lethal blow.
  12. The difference was that you were using a nephil (who gets a bonus to bows) for your archer, but did not use a slith (who gets a bonus to pole use) for your halberdier. Also, the best bow has a x7 multiplier, while the best halberd has x4.
  13. Quote: Originally written by Thuryl: Specifically, you have to make sure nobody else can see you. It doesn't matter if they can see the person you attacked. Because, you know, arrows randomly appear in people's backs for no reason all the time. Nope, that works for theft, but if a NPC can see the person you attack they'll turn hostile. (Provided, of course, that neither the witness nor the murdered are neutral) Quote: Originally written by Randomizer: Why shoot innocent NPC's? The useful treasure doesn't significantly affect game play and the experience is slight. You can get better equipment earlier on, but it will just encourage Jeff to make them harder to kill in future games. You'll start seeing him make certain ones unkillable after that fiasco with killing the Portal Mage in Fort Avernum. You don't get yew longbow drops for a long while. Here you can get 4 before reaching Fort Draco. And yew longbows make a huge difference. And as for the unkillable deal, he'll only do that for people important for quests. -------------------- As for good loot, there's a blind blacksmith who does custom work outside the tower colony who drops a blessed breastplate and blessed broadsword. But if you kill him you'll have to fight your way through a bunch of lancing fungi to get out.

  15. If you attack a person where nobody else can see, the town doesn't get mad at you. Grindstone is the earliest place you can get this, but anyplace with these NPCs will have this. The archer guards drop yew bows and steel shields and the warrior guards will drop iron breastplates and iron broadswords. EDIT: Not will, can. These are their best drops.

It turns out that 100 TUS is needed to open doors that are 'unopenable'. (Intelligence, magery, spellcraft, mage spells and unlock doors spell level all count for .66 levels of TUS each, according to Slarty's (or was it Synergy's?) calculations.)
