  1. I decided that I'd go for a real challenge and started a solo game with a 35% xp bonus (human, brittle bones, frail). The game consists of a lot of saving and loading, running back to town every two seconds and the like. I'm playing on easy. Something I noticed is that, doing every possible quest (looking in the scripts for those that I miss), I'm at level 28 and I'm not done with the Eastern Gallery. Seeing as this is the level that I ended my first run-through with I have decided to ask the stats guys on the boards if this would be worth it by the time I hit the endgame or if it would just get progressively harder with no end or letting up in sight.
  2. A stick did more damge to the haaki outside Rentar's fort than Demonslayer. But then again, it was supposed to.
  3. 1. There's a secret passage northwest of Bargha. 2. Probably, I suggest logically thinking this through. "Will the city guards attempt to kill me after I kill their queen?" 3. I can't remember, but if you went through the process with the ogre and no more monsters appear, none will.

Is it the initial archers and fearcasters? Or the charmbearers? Or the slimes that split? Or the Ogre? Or the drake? Or the final guy with good riposte, lots of summoning, and risk of serious poisoning? I just finished the demo as a singleton on normal, since the endless combat got too annoying for my full group on torment. But I use haste, spray acid and minor heal heavily. The slimes were a problem, but after liberal use of curing potions they went away, the sliths and nephilim weren't too much of a problem, poke 'em a few times and they die. The Ogre however has a lot of hit points and hits hard. His charm effect doesn't do anything as there's nobody for me to attack when I'm charmed. After that I like taking out the fungi, I just did what Drakey suggested, one at a time, eat, shoot, get shot at, repeat. The giant lizards aren't too much of a problem. The drakespawn or whatever they're called and the huge cavebats were what were really screwing me up, the poison combined with spell-casting giant lizards kept throwing me off. I'm playing on torment by the way.

  6. Start with the Northwesternmost door. This should be in the Geneforge forums.
  7. I'm playing the demo as a solo without magic. I'm at Motrax Caves, every quest and are explored except for the this, and am getting whooped every time I do anything, I need help. My character is a Nephil Divinely Touched Elite Warrior I have 50 hit points I use spears and bows I'm level 14 but only 151 xp from 15 5 str (+1 from my belt) 5 dex 4 end 5 pol 4 bow (race) 3 qa 4 def 12 tus (I went overboard but there's no changing that now) 4 luck 3 parry (traits) 7 bladesmaster (traits) 2 gym (nephil) 4 sharpshooter (traits) 2 extra skill points My equipped items consist of: Ratskin Shawl Gauntlets Armor Ring Iron Spear Yew Longbow Swamp Boots Fine Leather Helmet Woven Golden Chain Woven Silk Robe Swamp Pants Girdle of Strength Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  9. It's after the demo, in the Eastern Gallery you'll find a letter of introduction to Giscard on a dead body. Present it to Giscard and he'll give you your qust to remove the gremlin from his storeroom. (All from reading the scripts.)
  10. Going solo on torment without spells, (really hard btw, I don't suggest anybody try it,) I used a shielding potion, an augmentation potion, a haste potion and a gremlin wine before the battle. First I used a scroll of charm on Hrickis (for a wonder it worked) and my only invulnerability potion (which made me invulnurable to terror for a couple of rounds), took out the pylon first (by that time, the invulnerability had worn off), drank a curing potion and started whacking away at Hrickis, downing haste and healing potions when necessary. Just ignore his summons until after he's dead. Lots of useful equipment down the drain all for some coins and a shield of warmth which I can't use anyway (I'm using spears). Oh well. I'm at Motrax Caves and have no idea how I'm going to beat the whatever his name vahnatai. Surprisingly, the testing bones was easier than Hrickis, just pump my endurance from 2 to 4 and down an augmentation potion and some healing potions and sit it out.

(one of the best all-game spells.) Also, while the Jade Halberd is probably the best spear, the swords offer a far more balanced variety. I personally found the Frozen Blade's cursing to be very useful, as well as Demonslayer's plethora of defensive bonuses. And the Radiant Soulblade... heck, even the Ghostly Blade has enough ungodly defensive bonuses (+6% hostile resistance?!) to outshine the middle-of-the-road Oozing Blade. And as opposed to the multitude of other swords? If it makes it into the top ten it beomes one of the best swords.
