  1. Didn't notice any other posts here about this, but it's out - you can get it at http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/nethergateres/index.html .
  2. The Drakons have essentially been using much more advanced technology than the Shapers - this has to balance out any difference in resources. In G1, the Shapers had the same microscope technology as the Drakons, anyway.
  3. 'Superiority' is surely a case of what you define it to be. If it's in terms of achievements as a species/group, then the humans or Shapers are superior. Even during GF2-4 (giving them a similar time period to work over) humans/Shapers have made the biggest advances in Shaping. The Drakons are simply refining an exisiting model with the Unbound etc. Even Shapers who learn their magic and other abilities can reach a level similar to a Drakon, and the Drakon is relying on the fact that it was made for the purpose of fighting/magicking/shaping. This implies greater discipline in Shapers (and perhaps a greater intelligence shown in a greater ability to learn).
  4. West Poryphra Gates (can't remember name exactly), kill the oozebeasts.
  5. Seeing as there's also a General Crowley in GF4, it might have something to do with it. It might also just be a huge coincidence.
  6. Well, one of the real problems with shaping is the ability to actually create life. It's just as bad as the necromancy which is outlawed by the shapers. If "shaping" can occur by accident due to magic, doesn't that make it an extension of magic?
  7. Didn't they start off shaping by blasting magic at people, though, on Sucia island? Surely essence is more the life force of the creation, whereas it's actually turned into what it is through magic.
  8. Quote: Originally written by Emperor Tullegolar: You do realize that shaping can be used for things other than killing, don't you? Do you think that ornks are a danger to the world? No, they are delicious and nutritious. I shudder to think of what people would eat if it were not for them. Oozebeasts aren't exactly danger-free, and they're just ornks really
  9. Even if shaping was banned, what would be there to stop those who had wielded magic from controlling those who didn't? What is there to stop mages from abusing mental magic (such as dominate) spells to turn anyone into essentially a servile? I suppose it's just a question of how big the gap between the powers of normal people and those with magic/shaping/something else is.
  10. There is indeed an ornk canister. Remember, even when oozebeasts look innocent, they deserve to die....
  11. Sending in two spine-shielded rotghroths against the rotghroths in Northforge Warrens, and watching the enemies impale themselves on my creations (meanwhile failing to harm them) is regrettably no longer possible
  12. Hm, actually, I think it could be possible to change graphics for just your shaped creations. For example, in the thahd defs we have Quote: begindefinecreature 20; // pc created thahd // base for all thahd imports The other thahds seem to be Quote: begindefinecreature 21; // friendly thahd and Quote: begindefinecreature 22; // hostile thahd . If you copy all of the thahd abilities from 20 over to 21, 22 onwards will read from 21 and you can freely change the graphics etc. for 20, your own shaped thahds. I'm not sure if that would definitely work (I haven't tried it yet), but I'll give it a go now...
  13. But the swordsman would be able to reach the fyora and attack it if was in range to attack him.
  14. Clockwork creations could perhaps be made and upgraded
  15. Shaping vats allowing you to make the more exotic creations would definitely be interesting.
  16. Not even any of the wall sections around the shelf?
  17. Yes, that's it, you can also walk through the shelf visible on that screenshot
  18. a) You edited the terrain scripts I'm pretty sure that that zone has at least one problem with where you can and can't walk - one of the walls is non-solid.
  19. The graphics template number has 1 or 2 added to it when carrying weapons I believe, hence the gazer/eyebeast
  20. That's what the barrels are for, of course.
  21. All it does is take you to Eastern Medab, it seems
  22. This has been discussed many times here (well, at least a few times). The answer is "No" for reasons that you can probably find using the handy search link at the top of the forums
