  1. I have a crappy memory for people, but was Princess Ruth ever particularly notable?
  2. In Half Now

    Sprung!

The days have been staying on the side of positive temperatures for a week or two now. A couple of 5c days too. There's still snow everywhere of course. It takes a long time to melt especially after this winter. Snowed like mad. The puddles have not been too bad, only minor hopping has been necessary. And it hasn't gotten too dusty yet.
  3. Thinking about the past feels vaguely sad. :| But this was an interesting read. add: Okay I tried to go read some ages old chats from my early SW years and everything just turned painful. I change my mind; thank goodness those times are gone.
  4. I don't remember being upset though. I probably could've been mildly displeased? Basically all I really remember is that I thought the votecard was vaguely amusing to me.
  5. Saunders. Also, the last election was apparently in 2005. I dugged through a bunch of old folders on my computer and found the pic I made of a 'votecard'. (which were not really used. It was a joke.) Did pictures work for ordinary users yet?
  6. Not sure what year, but Nethergate on a MikroBitti (a Finnish gaming/computer magazine my brother subscribed to) game demo cd. I didn't join then, though. I think it was still in the nineties? no, must've been 2000 at least. Because the family computer was in my mom's bedroom then, and it got moved to the kitchen when my little sister was born (which was in -00), and I remember playing Nethergate in the kitchen. So sometime during summer probably. Long days and plenty of time to get bored, especially since I find out the money cheat for Sims. It did take me until Avernum, or possibly Geneforge before I registered to the forums. I needed to ask something and I don't think I had proper reason to do so with Avernum. And I don't think it was for A2... Not sure anymore. :\ But anyway. Before I joined I found the game demos on MB cds. That's for sure.
  7. I was actually kind of linked with Khoth before Aran, but I guess that one wasn't as public back then. No reason for it to be I suppose. I even had his username as part of mine for a short time. 49th was 'glompingKhoth'. As far as relationships go in general, I've come to identify as grey-asexual and I've pretty much ceased contact with all of my friends altogether. Most never really seemed to mean enough and I've kind of gotten tired of trying to care about them. And I mean this has been going on for a couple of years now. It's probably a bad thing. :\
  8. For the first GF game I actually have all the messages on my game page. Feel free to check there. I think I labelled it Misc. page or something. Also, this shouldn't be in General?
  9. Prompted about seeing vague reviews and comments about the new movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo I figured I should probably read the book myself and I have just finished it about a minute ago. A Finnish translation of course. This is one of the times I really wish I'd actually learned some Swedish in school, but oh well. The whole trilogy's been sitting on our bookshelf for years but I hadn't picked them up before. Definitely my bad. It was a wonderfully gripping read.
  10. I'm also one of those people who barely watch TV. Although I do follow some shows on my computer, I don't usually sit down in front of the big showbox. I just finished the seventh season of House. Other than that, I don't really follow faithfully anything. I've got some Simpsons saved up and a bunch of a movies I'm supposed to watch whenever I feel like it. And I've been thinking I might try to check out Supernatural - I've heard good things about it. Otherwise I might be interested in various interior decoration stuff or a food show... Maybe even fashion if I'm totally bored. (and whenever the second season of Sherlock comes, I'll totally watch those.) I was going to say I don't know how many years it's been since I've been to a movie theater, but then I remembered I went to see the fourth PotC movie this summer with my family. Nearly forgot about it, even though I kind of liked it.
  11. I'm not Halloweening. I will be busy instead. *goes away, leaving a trail of excited nano nano nano nano nano nano*
  12. Well, I absolutely must check mine now. Yeah, looks about right. Not sure why the upload is that much higher, but the limit on download is as expected. VVO, the company that owns the building I live in, often offer free internet in their buildings. Not a whole of lot speed in it, but it's never bothered me. Everything works reasonably fast as far as I ever need anything and it's not like I'm going to say no to free internet. It wouldn't cost a lot to upgrade, but... meh.
  13. I don't know if kids or youngsters of today are really that much worse than what people my age were when we were younger. I'm not exactly in active contact with a lot of people, so I can only base my opinions on some brief times. Like when I had a catering type job around half a year ago and we had a bunch of late-teen teenagers working there occasionally. They were all in school and doing a part-time job, so technically, they were pulling their weight in society. Their social skills on the other hand.. for some were badly lacking. They displayed this unfortunately completely ordinary train of thought that: 'I have a right to act however I want towards people and if they think I'm a [censored], too bad!' But it doesn't really make sense, because what they fail to understand is that other people are worth exactly the same amount as they are, and therefore deserve the same amount of respect they demand for their words. Thinking about to back when I was a teenager I have no doubt others acted in the same kind of manner back then too. I couldn't really pinpoint any exact people, mostly because I preferred to keep myself to more mild-mannered company. I would have kept away from the annoying teenagers at work also, if there was a chance. Sometimes there certainly wasn't. Considering children then, I have an eleven-year old little sister and she has some friends in school my mother and I both agree she should never hang around again. Although it's probably a bit steep of an opinion. The few times those friends have come to our place, we've generally been a little shocked at their behaviour and what they've expressed to my little sister afterwards. That.. why should they care about our home, if they want to do something they'll do it and that's that. And my mom and I are just sort of unbelieving: 'Have their parents taught them nothing??' My sister does have friends who apparently have been taught about manners and what you can do and can't do whilst in another person's home. Really wish she'd stop being friends with those tiny bitches-in-the-making. :\ And then there are all the youngsters at my congregation and sometimes when I look at them it seems like they actually act better than what I or others my age did. Not that I know all of them very well, but from what I have seen I'm just sort of proud of them. Considering it now, I feel like the Witness parents are probably the only ones in today's society who actively try to teach their children a sense of respect of other people. Believe it or not, it is hugely important. Not every parent or family is exactly alike, but there are some I know better. I guess I could say generally they let their kids be their age, but that the kids also have a duty to learn as well. Just simply stuff, like keep their room clean, or that after playing toys don't get left strewn all over the place - they're more likely to have boundaries.
  14. *have it. Rache should too, unless she got a custom one at some point.

Don't remember much about the actual adventuring people did in it, only that we were supposed to be skribbane smugglers.
  16. I read Beautiful Child by Torey Hayden after hearing one of my (now ex-)co-workers telling about it. It sounded interesting. True story. She's written several books about the experiences she's had with troubled children. I find psychology interesting, so after that book, I wanted to read more of hers. So now, in nearly three days I've read six more and I have the last one waiting for me. They would be One Child and its second part The Tiger’s Child, Murphy’s Boy (or Silent Boy), Ghost Girl, Somebody Else’s Kids, Just Another Kid and Twilight Children. In Finnish obviously. I had no interest in going through any kind of hassle trying to find them in English. + Finished the last one now. Still a pile of other books entirely waiting for me. I counted I'd loaned 17 books altogether. At first I was certain it'd definitely take at least over two weeks to read them all. Now I don't think so anymore. Sometimes it's a little weird to be able to read so fast. All stories end all too soon. And there's never enough new. :\
  17. I pretty much use FB just to play games. I try to avoid being social with anyone.
  18. Finland's summers are too hot for me as well. Fortunately, this year it seems we will have a cool summer. I'm already looking forward to it. Also, I've been out of school for a couple of years. Now I just enjoy my current unemployment.
  19. You'll have to come back later. When you return for Nathalie's personal quest, the gate will have opened.
  20. The gate is open for a time sometime in the middle game, but closes eventually. I didn't actually check it out then, because I figured I would have time round the end, only to find out it was closed. It warns you that it might be a bad idea to explore there, but apparently the only thing that happens is that Redbeard questions you about it. There was a previous discussion about it somewhere. :\
  21. Hm, my bad apparently. I was too quick to blame you, sorry. The text indeed had gotten cut off near the end, but I downloaded it again, and now it works fine. Thanks.
  22. The deluxe editor doesn't work. Clicking the first or second option does nothing, though third works, but you should add a quit option to that. Like, maybe I want just lockpicks and nothing else.
