  1. You might be more used to the newer engine, in which case Avernum: Escape from the Pit would be easier to get into the Avernum world.
  2. Not that I know of, I use keyboard for movement. Does this problem appear when using keys? You might post this in Tech Support instead, and try to explain exactly how this happens.
  3. Reading this makes me pine for a Nephils vs. Sliths thread.
  4. ... I'm struggling to understand your post.
  5. I wouldn't recommend playing someone else's savegame. If you want to explore, it would be much better to just move your party into areas that you shouldn't really be in at your level, and save your progress in case of random encounters that you would undoubtedly be killed in. You can move a level one party all the way to Bargha can't you?
  6. Wow that surprises me, I would have thought the much higher crit chance would make Heartstriker better.
  7. Every character can use at least 1 point in Priest spells for extra healing, and giving 8 to your mages won't hurt since Mass Healing and the others below it are very important to have multiple characters in your party able to cast them.
  8. By "No Magic" I assumed that you meant no Mage spells, and I was going to say "yes" describing my playthrough and reference the Anama, etc. But I can't imagine playing without Priest spells. Your game may become too tedious about managing the items you would need, as mentioned by Randomizer.
  9. Upload them somewhere online, then use the "Image" button in your post to insert the url. If you upload screenshots to mediafire as the individual images, you should be able to do this.
  10. Torment is too easy for 4 characters, so you play with 3? I salute you.
  11. I disagree that dual wielders are better than mages against single targets. However my original point was not that Quick Action and Lethal Blow are better than Melee Weapons, but that increasing Strength is sufficient to rise your hit chance; increasing Melee Weapons for hit is unnecessary.
  12. I would suggest that a melee user is not in the party for damage. QA points are not a waste if they help the tank move earlier.
  13. Hardiness, Blademaster, Parry, Quick Action, Lethal Blow, and a couple in Dual Wielding (or Priest Spells)... leaves only 10 points for Melee Weapons. Even for a fighter, there is no reason to raise melee weapons above 8, and then train the other 2, unless you are playing casually. I'll refer you to Slarty's analysis: http://spiderwebforu...n-maxing-aeftp/

    Alcohol

    I drink grappa.
  15. You mean like melee weapons? If so, that's very poor advice. Strength is what you raise for hit.

    Diplomacy

I joined as England. I think I get it after playing Risk some.

    Diplomacy

Can I try it? Never played before.
  18. Hm, well I don't mind missing the reference then.
  19. I don't know what to make of this, but I assume it's a slight on Mr. Combs?
  20. The engine is better in A2 and especially A3. There are various other improvements to UI, skills, and gameplay as you would expect from successive releases in the same line. After playing EFtP I started an A1 game and it is my favorite engine (only 4 games using it?), and I think free skill choice is more appropriate than a tree. Also I was so happy to let Jay and Andrew into the party! My biggest problem with A1 is no quest list. Also the up/down/left/right movement with arrow keys, which is changed in A3 to diagonals.
  21. You are always going to find these things in Jeff's games, it's just him after all. For example I found a stat point exploit. You just have to decide how you want to play. I don't enter combat mode and make sure events happen as they are scripted.
  22. What game are you playing? Lack of money is one of the most well-known challenges in A1:EFtP.
  23. Happy to make it, but no one seems interested. ┐()┌
