Ineffable Wingbolt Dahak
Where are the trainers teaching me shaping? I've not been able to find anything beyond 2nd tier.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Yeah, it takes a while to get high-tier creations in this game. All the third- and fourth-tier creations are available without joining a faction (either by purchase, by canister or by quest reward from Shaper Rawal) by the end of the Storm Plains. Until then, though, I hope you like cryoas and vlish.

Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque
Quothe teaches advanced creations (level 3 and 4 plus War Trall, I think) if you join Astoria and complete 1 additional quest. Ellek'Sss will teach to anyone if you have 8 leadership.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I missed listing the advanced training for Quothe and added it. Ellek'Sss will attack anyone with a Shaper reputation, so that trumps leadership.

Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque
However, you don't actually have to have JOINED a rebel faction if you have the leadership. Also, joining Trakovites will not work, just Astoria or Ghaldring.
Ineffable Wingbolt Dahak
I'm in Astoria's faction right now and Quote has no new spells. I think they may come after I finish her first faction quest. Quothe tells me that advanced shaping will be available after I have proven myself. Tenderfoot Thahd Piero
Is there anyway for me to get charm? I'm in Alwan's faction with a huge Shaper reputation.
Kyshakk Koan jlsgaladriel
Heck, for charm I'm coming up with the canister behind Mehken's bedroom in Gazaki-Uss, and the drakon in Dera South Shore. The Drakon is right out for loyalists. The Gazaki-Uss canister is normally a Mehken quest reward -- I'm not sure if it's possible to get to it without doing the quest? It might be your best bet. edit: I went back and looked at an old randomizer post: "Zephyr Oasis Guardian Kulish for Shaper factions - (Exorbitant) - ...charm,..." Kyshakk Koan jlsgaladriel
If I'm reading the scripts correctly -- and I'm new at these scripts, so I may very well be wrong! -- ellek'sss will *speak* to you if your reputation minus part of your leadership are low enough, but she'll only train you if your factional alliance is with a rebel group. edit: wow, I totally posted this in the wrong thread, but the forum won't let me delete the message, so take it as a random unattached bit of knowledge. Tenderfoot Thahd Piero
Sorry misread Randomizer's post. Guardian Kulish in Zephyr Oasis can teach charm to ALL Shaper factions not just Taygen's faction.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Also, there are actually two Charm canisters in Gazaki-Uss. One is Mehken's reward, and the other is one of Ghaldring's quest rewards. Anyone can get the latter by sneaking into the lab and unlocking the appropriate door. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I never saw a second charm canister in Gazaki-Uss' lab area. Of course Jeff might have changed one since I explored the place.
Tenderfoot Thahd Piero
It's in the room closest to the door to Ghaldring's hall. 1 room further along has create Gazer.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
That canister used to be war blessing. *grumble* Jeff keeps changing things.
Curious Artila aapo
Are trainers limited to teaching skills only when you haven't reached third level in them?
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Trainers can raise a skill up to 3 points above its starting value. So if you're in a class that starts with some levels of a skill, you can still raise it by three more levels, as long as you don't actually put skill points in it.
Well-Actually War Trall Acky
Um, you can only raise a skill twice with trainers. The Great Archon
Unflappable Drayk Sleeping Dragon
I remember in the original Geneforge and possibly the second one as well you could not train in any skill above two if you had found canisters or books before meeting the trainer. That was annoying and I'm glad Jeff has fixed that since.

Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
A5 lets you train three times. G5 still only lets you train twice. To keep you from getting the second form of creations too easily, Dikiyoba supposes.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
It really bugs me, that I can only train two levels. Being a hardcore shaper, I never use canisters. Thankfully, GF5 has a number of opportunities to get a third point. Thank you Rawal, you're not completely useless.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The instructions say 3 times because Jeff keeps forgetting to update the old instructions to 2 times.
Curious Artila aapo
How about spells? Is there no difference when you choose to train in spell or will canisters make training impossible? Are money and experience in the game finite?

Quote: Are money and experience in the game finite? Yes. You should have enough money for everything you need as long as you don't waste it on spells you'll never cast and creations you'll never make, and you'll probably cap out at level 50 or slightly higher by the endgame. Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
Money tends to be limiting in the first few chapters. You build up a nice buffer, and then once you find a new trainer, its gone before you know it. As for exp, the hard coded level limit is either 60 or 61. While I have never gone this high, I think people have gotten pretty darn close. Don't worry though, it's not hard to beat the game at level 50 or lower, depending on the difficulty. Exp does not become an issue unless you play as a pacifist.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
well, only in g2 because you couldnt get training in 1 Quote: Don't worry about it. Curious Artila aapo
What are the items in game which have more than one seeker, or quests which are mutually exclusive? Helft Papers have three people seeking them, one which is available so late as second half of the game.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Research Notes have two buyers, but there are plenty to satisfy both. Quests - Free/Destroy Camp Dranir in the White Wastes Control Core B depends upon the faction Alwan/Trakovite Lost Scout Amulet in Bonepeak Rawal's Lost Sheep in Perikalia can be accepted or rejected for different fights Trakovite Hunter/Kill Trakovite in Hatra Ruins
