Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 These are all of the "cheats" available by using the Shift-D window. I have not personally tested all of these, but this is everything listed in the game data, besides the SDF changing command. healmenow -- restore all HP rechargeme -- restore all Vitality shieldsup -- provides massive shielding status effects to party backtoavadon retrain -- resets the active PC's stats and skills to level 1, so you can change your choices iamweak -- gives XP iampoor -- gives gold giveasnack showmeall -- show all NPCs on automap dontshowmeall -- undo showmeall whereami -- gives PC location in coordinates showwaypoint -- beta-testing leftover sorrysevilin -- these codes make the 4 non-player PCs happy with you, if you made them mad sorryshima sorryjenell sorrynathalie fps -- show frame rate When you use a cheat code, you will no longer be able to earn Medals until you leave the region you are in. Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 So Jeff's still dropping the various dbugkill and clearzone cheats? You'd think it would be easier to simply add in a few lines of code that kills they player if they try to use it in Avadon or on an important NPC, but hey, whatever works. Quote
Rotghroth Rhapsody Soul of Wit Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 fps will show the game's frames per second. Anybody know what showwaypoint does? Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 showwaypoint is a beta testing cheat to help find problems with the autopath routine. Jeff finally found a major bug from several previous games that resulted in parties taking really strange routes when you were crossing a zone. Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 I'm not sure how "adding a few lines of code" -- even if it really is just a few -- would ever be easier than just hitting the delete key. Quote

Easier for the player, I mean. How are we expected to kill monsters far more powerful than our current level now? Quote
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 You may want to copy over from the hint book cheat code list the warning about what using these codes will do for getting medals. - Jeff Vogel Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 I haven't seen the hint book, nor the warning. What is it? Quote
Kyshakk Koan Txgangsta Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Noooo! I use healmenow when I know I can beat whatever is in front of me, but want to skip past it. Please tell me its not a 1 time use and your screwed type thing. Quote
Kyshakk Koan jlsgaladriel Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 "Be very careful using these. First, they can make the game too easy. Try to only use them if you’re completely stuck. When you use a cheat code, you will no longer be able to earn Medals until you leave the region you are in." Quote
Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 A couple editorial points: "rechargeme" also resets the cooldown time on all abilities. And, for minor spelling-related busybodying, you wrote it "snowmeall". Quote
Kyshakk Koan Txgangsta Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Oh, yea! I can do that one. I'll be sure to get the medals without using the cheats and then use them wherever I feel like in between. Thanks! Quote

Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name. Well-Actually War Trall The Ratt Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 A little late, but does using backtoavadon in the last quest mess things up? Quote
Easygoing Eyebeast VCH Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Originally Posted By: The Ratt A little late, but does using backtoavadon in the last quest mess things up? The game wont allow you to use that cheat. It says that doing so will mess up the story. Quote
Burgeoning Battle Gamma Dark.Fenix Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 retrain seams very usefull Quote
Well-Actually War Trall Synergy Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I used retrain and backtoavadon many times. I could do without any other cheat entirely—and did—but I find these two to be wonderful time and frustration savers. Anything that saves me time, reduces redundancy, and allows me to repair my own mistakes or experiment with possibilities is a winner. For similar reasons, the junk bag is a most welcome addition to the game. -S- Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 Agreed. I haven't touched backtoavadon, though. I am too terrified of the empty-container-syndrome from previous games that was associated with backtostart. Quote
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 What I would really like is a cheat that would let you switch party members without returning to Avadon. Let's say you're partway through a long dungeon crawl and you realize that one character isn't very effective anymore. It would be nice to be able to rearrange things the way you can on the character quests. I found the code that would let you do it: Code: change_level(-1,-1,-1,2,-1); I just can't think of a way to make it portable; scripting for items seems to be inaccessible. Attaching it to a sign or something works but isn't very useful. Oh well. Quote
Tenderfoot Thahd Xquizts Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 will constantly switching on the "showmeall" prevent me from getting potential medals? Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 It shouldn't, but I don't know if that one was tested. Quote
