  1. How would you nudge telepathy over from fiction into fact?
  2. So the moral of the story is: use the search function to look for repeat threads.

The world would then be buried under layers of liquified ash. Dikiyoba doesn't know why a bunch of wizards would want to do this, but fantasy does lend itself to the existence of multiple worlds, so maybe they decided they had a world to spare and decided to do it for fun. Which is probably also the reason the nanobots will destroy everything on Earth. Clarification before argument, please. Are we talking about elementalism, psionism, BG psycho-manipulation, magic as in Eragon, magic as in the subtle pervasive force found in Middle-Earth, magic as in Shaping, magic as in Harry Potter, the magic of Oriental mythology, the magic of European folklore, sympathy, emotion control by the Mule, alchemy in any of its diverse forms, or what?

  6. By the end of G2, my agent had approximately 30% accuracy with any given spell, and 60% accuracy with my acid baton. Are you saying I built my character wrong?
  7. Ah, but just wait until I finish MY CRPG, then you will bow to the unrivaled power of the Wand of the Spirits.

Often you can get hold of a higher type of baton a bit early, and though it will be a while before you start finding refill thorns for it, it will give you some extra firepower for emergencies. Once you get to reapers, you're really deadly. Those things do more damage than any other weapon, I believe. You don't get the extra attacks from Quick Action, or the Anatomy bonus in G1. So you probably never do quite as much damage as a melee specialist. But being able to fight from a distance can let you run around and stretch the fight out, and win a few more fights even if you win them a bit more slowly. It's fun because you have to think a bit about where to stand and shoot from, and where to move to, instead of just clicking on the thing next to you until one of you dies. Plus, you know, millions of games have swords or firebolts. Not so many have thorn batons. Tactics, tactics. This is why I play a Shaper: Eight party members have more maneuvering options than two or three.

It would assist the continuity of the factions' histories.
  11. IS there really an instant reputation-eraser in G2?
  12. And that is why all batons need to be upgraded from six-shooters to eight-shooters. Or, better yet, they could design some kind of easily-exchangeable magazine for them.
  13. One third, actually. I still maintain that there is some unmentioned territory between the Okavano and Poryphra.
  14. Which rewrite of the Geneforge engine are we using? Obviously not the fourth one, or the fifth.
  15. I am Fflewddur Fflam, reciprocating publicity and humor, and this is my favorite post on the message boards.
  16. And I don't see why everyone is complaining about small font. The smaller the better! Up to a point, that is.

At least Exile should run on Win 3.11. I use DOSBox for pretty much everything. It's the easiest way for me to get my Dr. Brain fix without spending huge money on useless antiques.
  20. Quote: serious discussion only Oh, bugger. It seems that some mod will have to delete all my posts.
