  1. Lilith, I am sincerely sorry that I have offended you. I apologize to all the other spiderwebbers who may feel that have slighted you. That was not my intention. I truly like you and sincerely would like to keep you as a friend. I know that we do not see many things from the same perspective, but that is what I like most about you. You challenge me to re-think my own attitudes. I admit that little has changed in them, but it is good to re-evaluate one's beliefs from time to time. I believe in my heart that you feel yours is the better perspective. When I was younger, I too envisioned a one-world society, much as like that in my favorite SciFi series. But then events in places such as the Congo, the Berlin Olympics, the taking of hostages during the Iranian revolution. We of the western world are more tolerant of diversity, but there are those people for whom tolerance of other cultures is anathema. Just today, yet another of those people attempted to blow up the Federal Reserve bank in New York. Is there good and evil on this earth? I have come to the sad conclusion that they do. I used to believe that someday we could eliminate the evil just by being good, by setting an example that others would aspire to. Now I see that there are those in the world who will never be turned from their hatred and desire to commit mass murder. I wish it were otherwise. That is why your beliefs are so refreshing to me. I called them naive. I did not mean that as an insult. Please accept my apology and my sincere wish for your friendship. The Harehunter.
  2. I seem unable to get what all the fuss is about. I have enjoyed my interaction with her. Even though, and especially because of, her perspective and mine are polar opposites, there is something about her that fascinates me. Perhaps it is her childlike (please, not childish) naivete that sees the world the way it could be. Her idealistic views are, well, idealistic. But I see no fault in dreaming that the world could be a better place. I used to have the same dreams myself in my youth. Please, Lilith, I do not mean to sound condescending. I am sincere in that I consider you a good friend.
  3. I know that my MMS which was very effective in Exile, has been derided as less than optimal in Avernum, but I find it to be very playable.

  5. Your tasty tidbits of temptation placed unwittingly hither thither and yon on other threads, that I dared not pun in place so I would port them to the pun thread. And I have even captured a quote or two on Harehaunter's page pertaining to the Punnic Wars. P.S. I wish to add The Mystic to the list of honored punsters. Yours were among the most punnishing.
  6. Clean cup! Move down, move down. Beware of flying saucers.
  7. To all the pundits who have punned on these pages, I proffer my paw to praise and applaud you. May your path be paved with stones that are gneiss, and be shaded from harm by the grove of punned-it-trees. Just be careful of loaded punapples.

  9. I never aspired to be the most prolific poster because I would often have to go on hiatus due to work. But then I noticed the number of views that had hit the pun thread. I then undertook to post quality stuff to keep my audience entertained. I would also like to thank Randomizer, Student of Trinity, Actaeon, Aloreal, and Lilith for their inspiring contributions. And special thanks to Trenton for starting that thread for me.

    500!!!

Insanity is relative; at least that is where I believe I got mine. Family, as much as you love them, can still make you crazy. And the wonderful people I have met here have had a similar effect on me. Thank you all for being my online family.

  15. You can still access the sites that have maps and help files. Just visit them and bookmark them. Harehunter's Haven will still be up as well as all the other boards.
  16. Cheese cake for breakfast.
  17. Sounds Ok with me. I've already trolled the Pun thread for our most memorable exchanges, which Harehaunter (I still love that moniker, Nikki) has posted, and that poor pathetic attempt of the periodic table of puns needs to be buried in the past. Maybe we can collect a good, reasonably funny set.
  18. I can't think of a better topic to finish out on. In the year I've been active here, I can think of about a dozen threads concerning food in some form or fashion. Cake is a common topic. The Harehunter is particularly fond of carrot cake, but it has to have two dozen carrots in it. (I know that one's old, but it just slides into place so easily.)
  19. It never hurts to send a note, email if possible, thanking the interviewer for his/her time and ending that you are looking forward to working for that company. If you have any thoughts that occurred to you after the interview that may make a stronger selling point, you may include them as well. Good luck. P.S. I am finding that LinkedIn.com is a good place to set up a profile, search for jobs, and get connected with potential employers. I have reviewed this site for a while and it is quite active. In fact I found one potential candidate there who I recommended to my boss.

  22. If you're going to get into sql programming, you could build a better database for the BoE graphics. What I am doing is emulating Brett Bixlers java style search engine, which is really not the most efficient way to do things. I would happily cede that to your website which is more robust with regard to Blades of Exile. I would provide you all the information I have on my web site.

  24. No, I think kimchee was invented for that purpose.
  25. Your first crossing from the Tower of Magi has to go through an underground tunnel on the east side of the river, under Almaria, up through the northern section (avoiding the spectre) and out through some door I can't remember. However, the main portion of Almaria underground is behind locked gates, and the main part of the town is hostile, so you can't go there until after you have reported the situation at The Castle, and they have quieted the town so you can enter. Then you have to speak to the mayor to gain access to the rest of the sewers.
