  1. But that could be explained by cavequakes and other geological movements.
  2. I did wonder that after comparing Gnass A2 with Gnass A4. Between A1 vs. A2 you can see there has been some development in the town (Tiled floors etc.) but by the time A4 came around it looked like they deprogressed, things had gotten more primitive. There may be whole villages which are hidden away due to being isolated by water. When Slith breed they apparently lay large clutches of eggs where only a few actually hatch. In Gnass they are then put in baby pools where live and grow (I guess as they grow bigger they get moved to larger pools.) for about eight years. Then most of them go through their so-called 'Time of Mind' where suddenly their minds develop rapidly and they emerge as mentally young adults ready for training. Those that don't got through the ToM remain childlike and sent to work on farms and are cared for. (At least in Gnass, who knows what happens to them elsewhere.) One theory for the rapidly building numbers is that the barbaric Sliths have figured out how to get a higher ratio of eggs in egg clutches to hatch.
  3. Ah but Avernum 4 had Gnass sliths converting to or at least thinking about joining those Sliths in the lower caves since life was getting really crappy for them at the time.
  4. It was as early as G4 when it was forgotten. My theory is one day someone is going to be studying some old Shaper records and learn about the existence of another continent (Which is not where the Sholai come from.)
  5. ^Canonically Sliths develop faster than humans. Furthermore when you say wiped out, narratively there are always some survivors. So despite your psychotic adventurers massacring everything in sight there will be some broken remnants left.
  6. In Blades of Avernum, my high level party's mage finds Simulacrum invaluable. Being able to make copies of the Demon Lord attacking you is pretty sweet. Especially when the Priest and Warrior are generally being more effective in this particular scenario.
  7. The Empire probably had the man power and resources to achieve it.
  8. Well I finally started slowly working on the Encyclopedia Ermariana when I looked at the Slithzerikai article. It's well written and such but it's really out of date especially when it is considered the amount of new insight into sliths we got in A4. What I talking about is the "Time of Mind". When Sliths hatch the are apparently a bundle of reptilian instinct and are less developed mentally as a human child of the same age. They spend 8 years in the pools before most of them go through go through the time of mind and emerge as functioning members of Slith society. The ones that don't make the change remain childlike in mind and are looked after by the rest of the tribe and left to work on farms and orchards (At least in Gnass). Also you learn that in terms of growing into functioning adults only Goblins do it faster than sliths. Basically: Goblins>Sliths>Nephilim>Humans>Vahnatai. What I'm asking is what do you think the equivalent age of a Slith is right after they have gone through the Time of Mind? My opinion is young to mid adolescents. Also if anyone has any other information that could be added to the page it would be useful. http://encyclopedia.ermarian.net/wiki/Slithzerikai
  9. Traditionally Sliths are good at clerical magic...OTOH it would be a suitably tragic end if The Blight was a natural occurrence and no magic or intrepid group of adventurers could fix it.
  10. In one of those shots I first thought they were on the surface. Turns out it was just a very mossy tunnel.
  11. The person at the end of G5 would be well known. And the G4 lifescrafter (Infamous actually)
  12. I voted Ornklords but I always thought of them as less creations rather Celestial Beings of Light and Power.
  13. Not Andras -- The third Shaper or any other title which does not give a name. But yes, they would be well known if not notorious since they pretty much decided if the Ashen Isles Rebellion would be a success or not.
  14. Well I like the coastal cities you see on the map in G5. You can't visit them but they look like what Shaper Cities are supposed to be but can't be shown in the game engine.

Because the northern parts of Terrestria are lush and verdant, and the only snowy parts that we ever see are mountains, this suggests a temperate climate. Which is not unreasonable. Alot the verdant growth could be attributed to the Shapers influence in some areas.
  17. Argh it's taking forever for that page to load (Stupid shaped broadband) but I'll become a fan eventually. And maybe actually visit once in a while.

We misplaced a continent..." Hey it happens to the Imperium of Man all the time! Anyway it could work as new plotline for a possible sequel to the Geneforge series (As a whole), set a hundred or so years after G5 with the diminishing political/military power of the Shapers and the Shaping Arts being forgotten. One day, while going through old dusty archives a discovery is made! References to other Shaper Lands, in fact an entire continent that was forgotten. Possibly there is a contingent of Terrestian Shapers upset at their loss of knowledge decide to find the long lost parts of their Empire and so on. Most likely based on a Trakovite or similar ending. (At least one that has the formation of Sucia as a country)

  20. I don't know if this has been added but: A5 - The lich Vesna seems like a shout out to Vecna of DnD fame.
  21. In G5 it's mentioned that it's rare for there to be female Guardians because it's traditionally a male vocation. It is perfectly reasonable for there to have been a male agent, just wish there was one in the game.
  22. My game did freeze once in the cut scene for meeting the presence the second time in the western part of the core. The door would open but nothing would move. Shutting down G5 and opening it again seemed to fix the problem. Playing the windows version.
  23. There was also that comment in G3 that Terrestia was the less settled of the two shaper continents. Before I started playing G5 I assumed from what I had heard that the Nodye Coast and such were from the other continent and had not seen any rebellion.
  24. Being reading "The Mummy Congress - Science, obsession and the everlasting dead" whenever I'm on the train. It's all the different sorts of well preserved dead around the world and the people who study them. It's been really fascinating and I've learnt alot of stuff I did know before. Next book I'm going to read is Meg: Primal Waters which appears to be a sequel and is supposed to be about some formerly captive Carcharodon Megalodon shark returning from the Mariana Trench to raise hell... Why yes I did get this book in $5 a bag library book sale.
