well, how can it be sever posts when you just did anywhoo... i would probably conquer the world. of course, i would start just with small things, trying to do thousands of years of shaper research in a few years, unless i found a way to enhance my life, allowing me to live for bajilions of years. only problem is, wouldnt it get lonely being the single most powerful thing on earth? thus, would i just use it for personal benefit on a small scale, like pets, and try to live a semi-normal life?

i think he's saying that it would be cool to have the graphic of shapers if you ally with them, but have a different graphic for the same character if you side with another faction correct me if im wrong, but thats my understanding

Ilya, you seem to think that humans are the only creatures that should be endowed with intelligence. You're highly reactionary views are infinitesimally small in support. I don't know anyone who happens to share your views. I'm not much of a person for personal attacks, but your incredibly arrogant views nearly made me sick. Anyway, since this seems to be now a thread about morals, I personally side myself with the shapers. Sure, they have been known to commit genocide, but only when they find the species a danger to the world, not just themselves. All great governments have made mistakes. The US government, which I think has done a descent job so far, has been as bad as to create concentration camps for japanese-americans in WWII. Not the greatest example, I know, but the point comes across. Now, if people never challenged the rules, the US wouldn't exist. What really needs to happen is for the human leaders, or even drayks (the drakons are too arrogant) leaders of all parties to come together and negotiate. The rebels never tried to negotiate. I realize that it started with attempted genocide, but that is no reason not to try. The only thing keeping this from happening is the drakons. A possibility that I am now realizing is that the rebellion will split, and, if the player wants, the human rebellion and the shapers could come together and put the drakons out of the picture.

And in my opinion, this has turned to personal attacks, which never get anything done. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I personally think that Jeff will take all the suggestions into consideration and make the best/ most cost effective game he can, as he has in the past.

i trust jeff to make games, there is a reason he makes the games, and we dont. He has made many great games, and i dont think we should get obsessive about what we want, when I for one will play it no matter what

PleasePleasePlease stop comparing geneforge to diablo. As a huge fan of both, I must say that making geneforge more like diablo would be a big mistake. I dont know how to quote but the thing about threads like this making people glad jeff makes the games is sooo true!

I figure that a shaper just has to make a mind, which is loyal to himself and takes essence from an external source, not the shaper, and then just makes creations and somehow "networks" them through the mind, making the shaper able to leave the creations alone and have the mind watch over them. Does anyone remember the 4 control minds in GF1?? kinda the bases for this

Why is it that you are able to create totally loyal drayks-drakons-gazers and yet mostly we run into wild ones? I know that all creations go rouge, but what is wrong with shaping ones as long as you can control them? And i like how this went from a discussion of gf5 to shapers v rebels to shaping
