  1. when you see you better have hp and sp at full or ready to use health and energy potions/elixirs. i massbuffed my party when i went on that fight.
  2. yea or special encounter like that swamp monster at Highground and you wander there half-dead and low at spell points and run and next time monster won't show up.
  3. or hope that there are more of those monsters.
  4. For future don't do jobs in advance. Advice: When you reach Highground make a save which you won't touch until you've done all quests/etc in that area.
  5. *NIX-OS's have used OpenGL more than Windows so maybe *NIXes have better OpenGL-optimazion than Windows or Intel has better drivers for Macs than Windows.
  6. uninstall gf5, search from your hd and registry all traces about geneforge and spiderwebsoftware and del those and reinstall. if you have other spidweb's games installed then don't do that.
  7. Maybe Avernum should get some unique monster if it already hasn't any.
  8. tried uninstalling and then reinstalling gf already?
  9. and both upworld and downworld has alot places for "dead" species to live.

  11. Unless Empire/Avernum has killed all (like that would matter since it was said all dragons are dead too but there were drakes at A4 and huge dragon at A5).

What AGP-cards fit your computer depends what kinda AGP-slot on your computer has. You didn't say is your comp laptop or normal.

  14. and graphic card's model wouldn't hurt either.

  16. get real graphic card if your motherboard has pci-e slot. that igp (and most of integrated) is meant for non gaming usage.

Full list of skills and are those trainable/worth of training or just boughttable is on walkthrough.
  20. Bows, Tool Use, Barter, Pathfinder, Anatomy (pricy), Gymnastics, Parry, Thrown Weapons. Those at least.
  21. did it show any error msg on crash?
  22. I played Avernums (1-3) and Mordor: Depths of Dejenol same time, but stopped playing Mordor years ago since levelling took so much time and only storyline is kill monsters, kill some more, explore dungeons to find nastier monsters and sometimes kill some monster (rare-very rare usual) or bring back some item (rare-very rare usual) for Guild to be able get leveled. I still have Mordor's savegame if I someday decide to reinstall it (which is unlikely). I have played other RPGs (flash-games) and liked those very much.
  23. Everything else worth of somewhat big money is mentioned.

What happened on those early days of Avernum is only told in some books (briefly) and by fanfiction.
