  1. No, luck has more to do with creations dropping items when killed and things like that.
  2. Move around in combat mode. It prevents you from losing health too quickly, and makes it so you can see how much is left.

  4. I don't know how much leadership you need, but from here on out you'll need around 10 and up. If your leadership is high enough you can convince him to give you his blessing to assist you in helping the Shapers.
  5. I don't have notes on all the canisters, but Schrodinger will likely have a FAQ/Walkthrough out soon that will have that information.
  6. The only time I ever use missiles is as a Guardian.
  7. The node just above the one he originally numbered 22 is number 92, so the script you posted makes two nodes numbered 92. Even if I change it so the numbers don't conflict the script doesn't work. I don't think it's a problem with the node numbers or states.
  8. There are switches throughout that shut off the hot rocks. In the southwest corner is a "hot" room, so if you go in there do so in combat mode. In the southeast corner surrounding the Geneforge are the controls to the nearby shaping platforms.
  9. Within Talknode 24 you are missing a semicolon after change_coins(30000) That doesn't fix the script, but read through it again.
  10. It has a better story than the other two, and I like the classic feel. The PC advances through canisters rather than trainers, and it's not all about "the mighty Drakons". The characters have better personalities, and it gives an introduction the "outsiders" you keep hearing about. The lock system is better. Though you have to use Living Tools one at a time, you are able to use X amount of them fallowed by the Unlock spell. The endings are better, and so are the sects for that matter. There are more aspects than that I liked, but that is what comes to mind first.
  11. GF1 was the best of the three. It's worth downloading and trying the demo.
  12. The first problem I see is you are missing a semicolon after "variables"
  13. Unless a topic is directly related to the game (which blonds are not) it should be posted in General, or expect the topic to be locked.
  14. Charmed creations can become liberated over time even if Remove Effects is not used. If you keep moving away from them they will eventually stop attacking you. A creation that has actually gone rogue cannot be tamed by its own will. Charming is not going rogue; it is being charmed. They may be similar in appearance, but they are not the same, so what Drakey said was accurate.
  15. I seem to remember four (I need a save file for every area). Did you click each one twice? Once as an approach, and again as confirmation of attempting to shut them off? That is all that needs to be done to pacify the area.
  16. Lankan won't do what Diwaniya wants anyways.
  17. Hawk King is an unsellable trowel for hyphenating "un-sellable trowel".
  18. Quote: The problem with these editors is not that they aren't cool; the problem is that they're too simple. Anyone that spends 5 minutes looking through the scripts files can pretty much figure out whats going on. And if they really want a specific item, all it takes is one additional script line in the correct place. I'm not quite understanding what you are looking for in an editor, or if you feel it necessary to have one at all for that matter. Many people don't know what to do with the scripts, so for them adding items may not be so simple. As for the simplicity of the editor, it seems to give everything needed at different levels, and is well organized. Quote: And there is really not much point in making yourself "uber-powerful"; that's what the difficulty setting "easy" is for. There is a difference in how the game works when one uses the easy setting as apposed to a cheat script. Note that I prefer to play without cheating on torment, but some people prefer the story without the strategy and/or battles. If people have more fun playing the game with maxed out stats, than that is what is fun for them. Quote: If you really want to do something worthwhile, script in additional dialogue, create a new subplot. Change the story up a bit. Believe me, just adding a little bit of story dialogue is incredibly time consuming, but ultimately, much more rewarding. You are suggesting altering the story, right? I suppose that could be interesting, but most people who want to use an editor just want to be more powerful, and leave the story as is. Quote: PS: The player character uses a different creature defintion than NPC Shapers, so there should be no reason to have player walk speed affect anything else. On that note, my creations are very fast but my Agent is not.
  19. Quote: Originally written by xxo: I can't say I really want any Geneforge features in Avernum 4. Since I had to choose, though, I said the ability to complete most quests without combat. This pretty much sums it up for me as well. "None of the above" would have been a good option.

  21. You went into the inner part of the Purification Plant and shut off all of the power crystals? When the crystals are no longer active you should get a message saying the plant will be a lot safer now.
  22. Quote: Originally written by Drakefyre: Well, if you killed Lord Rahul then you should align yourself with the rebels and attempt to fix the Creator. It sounds like the General has been freed, but did not receive orders from Lord Rahul to send the troops west. If that is the case there is no way to access the Creator, and it will be not be possible to fix/destroy it. That's as far as you can go, so you'll have to load a save file. Edit: sp
  23. That's a shame. One of my favorite items in Avernum was the Pants of Power. They were pants that had power, very groovy.
