  1. All the cheat codes that I'm aware of were listed here (near the bottom of the page) shortly after the game came out.
  2. Yeah, that seems to have fixed it. It scrolls much faster now. Since it works, I'm not going to question why.

I mean that that mode does more drawing and graphics manipulation than the other modes. What I'm getting at is, why is your editor so much slower than the regular 3D editor? What did you change about the drawing and graphics manipulation that made your editor slooooooooww down?
  6. It's not immediately obvious to me what more you're drawing on the screen than any previous version of the 3D Editor, though, so the sluggishness was a little surprising.
  7. Yes, moving around is rather sluggish. This has been a problem repeatedly with the 3D editor.
  8. You, sir, are a magic man. A quick perusal shows that everything works spectacularly. I will continue to investigate to find bugs, but all is good so far. One other minor thing: IIRC, the game's window is ever-so-slightly larger than the editor's window, which can be a little weird when you're trying to see what the party will be able to see at any given time. It would be nice if they matched exactly. That seems like it might be hard to do, though.
  9. Send it my way and I'll look at it. tomwatts (at) berkeley (dot) edu By the way, it'd be sorta nice (although not by any means crucial) if there were a command similar to Reload Scenario Script that also reloaded the graphics. Currently the only way to get a scenario completely reloaded from the ground up is to re-open it from the File menu. This is mildly annoying, though not at all a big deal.
  10. Hmm. I accept that. I'd be interested to see what happens if you download the current Sourceforge build, though; if it does display properly on your computer and not on mine, then something weird is going on. Otherwise, your explanation must be right.
  11. Quote: Originally written by Niemand: Quote: Why don't you just make the editor display ed_icon_adjust properly? That would mean that you could tell what you were seeing in 2D mode, and you could also reflect the game accurately. Like I said before, it does already! No... it doesn't. I'm using the Mac version of the 3D Editor v1.02 b6, the current version on Sourceforge, and (for example) the vahnatai floor (floor 100) in Exodus has a fl_ed_icon_adjust on it that does not display in the editor in 2D mode but does display on the automap in the game.
  12. Quote: Originally written by Niemand: Ok, compromise: I'll give you a toggle-able option to turn off the additional adjusting behavior. You can turn it off and leave it off, and I will turn it on and leave it on, because I can't stand not being able to tell what I'm seeing in 2D mode. Why don't you just make the editor display ed_icon_adjust properly? That would mean that you could tell what you were seeing in 2D mode, and you could also reflect the game accurately. Quote: I'm assuming that, though it was included in the quote, adjusting the graphics of creatures and items in 2D mode is not being called a bad idea. Right. My mistake. Quote: And it will take some will power not to name the new menu item "Kelandon's 2D Icon Adjust Toggle". Call it that! I want to be in the 3D editor! It will ensure my infamy forever!
  13. Quote: Originally written by Niemand: So, what the editor now does is if a floor or terrain has no ed_icon_adjust but does have an ordinary icon_adjust, the ordinary adjust is shown in 2D mode. This fixed the appearance of blue carpet, for instance. Also, items and creatures are now adjusted when displayed in 2D mode. This seems like a bad idea. I want the editor to reflect the game as closely as possible, and using normal icon_adjust doesn't affect the 2D automap. If corescendata doesn't use ed_icon_adjust, that's a bug in corescendata, not a bug in the editor.
  14. Also, don't use your skill points, and no equipment. As I recall, I beat GF1 and GF2 (the first time) without using any magic, because I didn't really understand the game mechanics. It was just me and my pair of fyorae, who never died and never got re-absorbed.
  15. You will, of course, release intermediate versions along the way to your Super Duper Improved Better Than Ever Before Editor, right? One of the tragedies of the Remake is that there is literally nothing, end-user-wise, to show for it.
  16. Different engine, different options.

  20. As another aside, what's with Nik and choosing really, really feminine names for himself?
  21. What on earth does this have to do with GF? What I'd do would depend on how screwed I'd be in the situation. If my entire home and livelihood were taken away and I were tossed out on the streets, I'd probably engage in some semi-criminal (and presumably violent) activity both for survival and resistance. If not (which I think is more likely, but we're talking WWII here, so who knows), I'd engage in some careful and well-placed passive resistance. No use in dying pointlessly. Moreover, people don't fight wars. Governments fight wars. Individuals who try to fight wars against governments get killed pretty quickly. Count me among the forces of defense when the armies are invading, but once we've lost, count me in the number of people committing silent sabotage in the rare moments when it is possible and otherwise whispering and hoping for freedom. Seize the opportunity to push for overthrow when it comes, but until then, one has to wait.
  22. While we're on the subject, the version of Cheater's Paradise on the Archive should be the latest one now.
