Best Geneforge item?

I was curious to know what you all think about this. In the entire Geneforge series, what was the single best item? Personally, I would go with Danette's Belt or maybe the Firesteel Gauntlets. What do you think?

My personal preference would have to the Chestguard that Learned Darian can make you in G2. Solid bonuses plus two AP! Can't beat that.

Not to mention the fact that that item existed before action points were nerfed, so I would have to agree. Emerald Chestguard all the way!

in 5 though, i have to say i like assassin's boots...pretty easy to get and also gives the same nice +2 action points

For me it would have to be the G4 talisman of might, it was available midway through, and gave a whopping +4 to strength.

Edit: But the reaper baton also deserves a mention, its like death in your hand.

No, it's the Emerald Chestguard.

Emerald Chestguard was pretty outstanding in G3 too, and probably the single best piece of gear. The Omnicharm (+1 to all four major stats without taking an equipment slot) was also pretty cool.

Emerald Chestgaurd or Danette's Belt. I wish you could get these two earlier in their respective games, but oh well. One made killing an augmented trakov fun and one made Gazak Uz completeable (at least in the first few tries).

Reaper turrets in a bedroom? That would really suck if they went rogue in the middle of the night somehow. It would make more sense to have them outside the bedroom, not in it. Then again, since when has anyone done anything logical in any of the Geneforge series?

Turrets don't seem to go rogue all that often though. Arguably weirder are the bedrooms of Rahul/Anjali in G3 and Alwan in G4, which respectively contain ur-glaahks and wingbolts. I guess it's similar to dogs sleeping at the foot of people's beds, but it still seems more odd when we're talking about lightning-shooting winged snakes or giant venomous insects.

Anjali is too beastly of a shaper for her creations to dare think of going rogue.

Given that the odds of being robbed by an adventurous Shaper/lifecrafter is about one hundred percent, it makes sense to keep dangerous creations in your bedroom. Sure, there is a slight risk of them going rogue, but at least they're likely to keep the Shaper/lifecrafter out when they're at a low level, and there's a chance that the Shaper/lifecrafter will forget to go back to the bedroom and steal everything after leveling up.
